400 miles Hate them Always loved the Torin. The tongue is better from the 6. Everything else was ruined. The sole is stiff, the cup around the ankle is raised and uncomfortable. Just never felt right

I'd never heard of Altra before, but I preferred shoes with a wide-toe box and was advised to try the Altra Lone Peaks. When I got to the store, I was told the Lone Peaks were more for trail runners, and since I mostly walked on pavement and sidewalk, the Altra Torin and Paradigm were recommended to me. I tried on both and settled on the Torins, which were a little tight, but I figured I could fix that with the lacing. They didn't have the color I wanted in the store, so I had to wait a couple of days for them to move from one store to another; I had my wife pick up the shoes on the way home when they arrived. The cushion felt good, but the shoes felt narrow around the middle and put a lot of pressure on the tops of my feet, even loosely laced. After walking about 12 miles in them, I've decided to return them at the store and try to find a better-fitting shoe.

After a little more than 100 miles, the fabric is torn in the same 2 spots on both shoes. I love these shoes, especially for their fit, but they should last longer.

Great comfort but poor quality. The shoe tore on the size after 90 miles. I have a pair of the Olympus which are a better quality.

I have worn Torin's for years. Really enjoy them. I enjoyed these too, but the heal blew out in two months. Very comfortable and supportive but disappointing lifespan.

Too much pressure under midfoot, hurting my right arch and feet. Strained my toes to walk in them too. What is strange is that they have a dip in the heel, therefore feels like you are standing back and the rest of the foot is uphill. Not good for me. Had to return them. Too bad Altra does not make a 2 or 3 mm shoe, whereas your heel is up a bit more rather than sinking into the heel throwing off the 0mm fit and feel. Had to return them.

Altra needs to make shoes that run shorter again and start offering wide in more models.

I have run through pairs of Lone Peaks, Escalante Racer's, and Superior's from Altra. I was let down by the Torin 7. It's a little too cushion and lacks the "spring" I enjoy in a running shoe.

Purchased these Torin 7 back in November 2023 after trying them in person. Pictures are from end of January. Small holes starting to form on inner of toe box. Sole is still relatively unworn. Having had positive experience with other Altra running shoes, I was excited to discover these Torin 7 to be super comfortable, light weight and supportive. I thought they were one of the most stable pair of shoes I've ever worn. However, 2 months in I noticed visible holes forming near the inner portion of the upper. I am disappointed in the quality as I had a pair of Lone Peaks that lasted 5 years with no visible damage before the rubber sole wore out. Typically averaging 6-8 miles a week in a comfortable, small indoor office setting. I really loved these shoes but would not recommend anyone else to pay such a premium for a pair of shoes that have started breaking only after a few months of light wear.

Torin 5s -- so comfortable I kept them in spite of the stiff tongue. Tongue is now padded, but the heel box has been stiffened and cuts into my ankle. These didn't make it out of the store!

I have been buying Torin shoes for years and I bought 3 pair of the 7s. I've been through 2 of the 3 due to the inside of the heel developing a hole - they should last longer. Please fix this.

I had a pair and wore them 3-4 times a week to workout. I wore a hole inside by the heel within 3 months. I was told that's just wear & tear. Find something else if you're a runner.

I absolutely loved this shoe, but was really disappointed when the heel fabric started tearing up this week. I'd only had them for a couple months and only used them for walking. Super bummer!

These are a significant departure from my Altra 5s, which were a truly neutral shoe. The 7s have some stability control and the toe-off is pretty aggressive.

Coming from the Torin 5. In the typical Altra way, some of the basic aspects of the design that makes these shoes "special" was lost with the new version. These shoes are very narrow. As soon as I stood up with them laced, I immediately felt pressure on the outer edge/blade of my feet bilaterally. Playing with lacing does nothing. Holding them side by side with the Torin 5 it is clear that the taper and overall shape was lost. The cut of these shoes remind me of 90s shoes made by that swoosh company. Additionally, the stack hight is too high. The only thing that was improved with this generation is the tread designs finally changed on the forward, outer edge such that I suspect it won't start to peel away long before the shoe is done. I will return these shoes and start over looking for a runner.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable, and I especially appreciate the spacious toe box, providing the best-in-class width. I rely on these shoes for my daily 3-mile walks. However, I'm a bit disappointed as I've noticed signs of wear after just two months of use. The material on the inward edges of both the left and right shoes is beginning to come apart, appearing to rip along the grooves.

The durability of this shoe is poor. I have bought two different sizes of this shoe and have worn a hole in the heel in each pair in under 2 months even though they get light use and proper care.

I really like these shoes. The large toebox is awesome and the shoe is comfortable. I am disappointed with the quality. I have had the for only 5 weeks and only ran in them and there is a small tear that will most likely get bigger and render the shoe unusable. At this price point, I would expect more durability.

I've been a Torin fan since 2017. In 2018 and 2019, I bought 20+ pair of Torin 4 wide from any source I could find. I ran the Chicago Marathon, Boston Marathon and the 2019 Ironman World championship in Kona using Torin. With every Torin model Altra released, I hoped that they would get back to the basics. The Torin 4 is as close to perfect as you can get. The Torin 7 has high sides near the ankle that are super stiff and cause unbearable pain on my ankle as a result of the stiff side wall. I tried building up the heel of the insole to see if I could alleviate the pain. No luck. I even tried to remove the insole. No luck. Come on Altra why did you change a good thing?

Have two pairs of the Torin 6, and they are amazing. I felt the padding was more firm and the sole was stiffer on the 7. The shoe didn't seem to flex with your foot. I felt a little flat footed and my stride had more noise opposed to being smoother with the 6. There seemed to be a little less padding on outer edge of the heal as well. Either way, my feet fatigued after my run so I went back to the 6

Initially the shoes have been comfortable but now after some mileage the right side of the heel cushion is compressed not rebounding. The entire cushioning of both shoes are not rebounding and are compressed and the upper portion of the midsole is coming apart.

I purchased these Torin 7 to replace my favorite older pair of Altra's that had seen better days. I returned them as they did not work for me. The tongue is very thin and slipped constantly.
