The torin has been a favorite of mine for years. I've had 6 pairs previously. I skipped a few generations based on poor feedback and decided to try again for the 7. The width is not the same and narrow

Like the shoe. But bought Dark Grey & it looks very different than the photo. Photo appears darker grey with red trim. Loved the look. Shoe that arrived is lighter gray & the trim is orange.

I've been wearing my Torin 7's for about 3 months. I love the toe box and most of the fit, however, the uppers rub on my outer ankles which is very annoying. I hope they fix this with the Torin 8.

This was my introduction to Altra and zero drop shoes. It took me about two weeks to get fully comfortable enough in this shoe to wear it every day. After wearing this for a few months I cannot go back to a regular toe box if you paid me. Here are my main takeaways: these are tight on the toe! Even though the toe box is wide, it is very shallow. After a few months, these shoes have a hole in them where the big toe bone is. I think it could be a fit issue but based on many other review saying theirs developed holes quickly, maybe not.

I've run thousands of miles in Torin's. The tongue was a problem in the 5's, marginally improved in the 6's, finally fixed in the 7's. But now it's running on a sponge. No road feel, slows me down.

The shoes provided a very good cushioning. That's about the only positive thing I can say about them. On the negative side... There is something wrong with Altra sizing... I had Torin 5 and my size (8) was really tight. I replaced them with Altra 7 and they were way too big. On top of that Altra 7 developed holes in the heel area less than 120 miles in. Altra attributed that to the normal "wear and tear". I disagree with them as most of the rest of the shoes, including the sole, look pretty much intact. I have over 300 miles on my Brooks and they are still like new throughout.

I use these for walking, the toe box area is a great shape, but these run just a little smaller than my other assorted pairs. They're okay, and would have kept them if they fit as I expected.

shoe with potential, the wide toe box and 0 drop is good, butmore cushioning for impact absorption. Also they do not last that long imo. I am 6' 230llbs but i run light. Not sure if weight effected:)

Using for walking, injured runner. The foam and forefoot width are great. Midfoot and heel a tad narrow. Length true to size. Upper mesh breathable. I'm confused by "wide" width- as it got really sloppy wide. The main issue is the heel collar design. The heel collar is stiff and comes up high and rubs against my malleoli and causes peroneal irritation. I'm conflicted about whether to return or try to modify the sneaker- I would need to cut down the collar.

After wearing the Torin 5 for a couple years, I decided to upgrade to the Torin 7. I've been wearing the Torin 7 for about a week now and had to switch back to the Torin 5 already. Unfortunately, the Torin 7 hurt my feet after walking about a quarter mile making them unwearable. I typically like walk to 2-3 miles/day on pavement or treadmill and the Torin 7 clearly isn't durable enough to handle that. The style upgrades to the Torin 7 are a nice touch, but from a functional standpoint I can't recommend this shoe.

This is a great shoe for foot shape and ride. Plenty of toe room and responsive. Problem is the heel cup under my outside ankles rubs sharply. Painful enough that I had to buy insoles. Hope it works.

The last Torin I loved was the 4 with the mesh upper. For some reason all since then have had issues. The Torin 7 is the best since, but for some reason the Tongue moves around too much and the cardboard shoe forms that is used in shipping caused a flap over/crease and is annoying. Please go back to having at least a partially gusseted tongue like the Torin 4 mesh version. Also the upper material is very thick, but the midsole is great. The cardboard shoe forms seems unnecessary and ruined my togue. Thank you

These shoes are in the rotation of my everyday shoes for walking and going to work. I love the fit and wide toe box, but have been disappointed in their durability. The sole is coming off at the front side of the left shoe, and there is a run in the stitching on the inside of the forefoot that has turned into a tear. I love the design of these shoes and would definitely vouch for their comfort, but quality control could improve--especially at this price point. I've had them for 3 months and used them in rotation with a couple of other pairs of shoes and really had hoped they would last longer than they have.

Super comfortable shoes and I ran a marathon with my 2nd pair. I put a good number of miles on the first two so when they fell apart I gave Altra the benefit of the doubt in terms of normal wear and tear. This third pair, however, is falling apart after only maybe 100 miles. For the price, they need to up their durability game.

The design change from 6 to 7, now hits the lateral side of my ankle and is really sharp rubbing doesn't seem to be able to break it in. Disappointed

My heel never stayed in the shoe. Even after lacing them differently I couldn't get them to work. I also experienced a weird pain at the top of my foot while wearing these. Doubt this has anything to do with the shoe being bad, just that it's not right for me.

These are incredibly comfortable and they look great, but they crush the top of my feet a real deal breaker

When standing still or walking the shoe has a big crease that agitates my middle toe and one next to pinky. Bothered me so much I went to return them but since they weren't "new" I couldn't.

I have been running in Torins since 4.5 (still my favorite) and love lone peaks for the trail. I love these shoes on a straight away, but on turns the higher and harder edge of the cuffs causes pain on the underside of my ankle bone.

I have bought this shoe twice now and while comfortable while standing and walking they don't hold up. Both pairs have torn on the inside ball of my foot. Don't know if this is a known defect or what.

I bought the Torin 7 white based off of the picture. To me the picture is not true to the color of the shoes. The blue, black, gray and black/red show a white sole. The white in the picture looks more off white or grey. The top of the lime/blue looks white in the picture, the white looks grey like the grey/red. I have never owned Altra but I will give them a try, the color just wasn't what I was expecting from the picture.

I like most parts of this shoe! The drawback for me is that my big toenails (yes fully trimmed) push into the upper of the toe box and make it uncomfortable. This had not been an issue for me in Torin 5. I really hope that Altra fixes this for Torin 8!!

I loved the Torin 6's. Was excited for the Torin 7's to come out. Overall, a very good shoe, but after 80 miles, I had to retire them. They continued to cause pain and discomfort on my ankle bones.

Wow, these are like walking and running on clouds. They provide a decent amount of cushion and the same in support. I ran these over 350 miles and like others the uppers blew out on me. They should work on that one. I also have a set of paradigms and while I dont like them as much I do think they are a better shoe. Uppers last, foam didn't pack out a quick and they are still going after 400 ish miles but I don't think I like the guide rail. Are they as good of a walking and running experience. No they are not.
