The "high" level of cushioning of the Torin 7 is very comfortable and, oddly, even more cushy than the "max" cushioning of the Via Olympus. The toe box however is not quite roomy enough for me in terms of both width and height, and my toes touch the top of the toe box - a problem I've not had with any other shoe. I prefer the roomier box of the Via Olympus. The perfect shoe for me would be a Torin 7 with toe box of the Via Olympus.

I ordered the wide version and love the way this shoe feels. Disappointed though that wide is only available in one color, I would order more if they offered other colors, particularly black and white.

Toe box is nice and everything I wanted. The sole is well cushioned and feels good for longer runs. I wish there were better color ways overall.

This is my favorite road shoe. But I don't run on roads or hard surfaces. I run on trails, so I use the lone peak for my running. I use this shoe for walking around town and work, and it's excellent for that! The only reason I gave this shoe 4 and not 5 stars is the color for the wides for men. I would prefer a more "understated" color like the light color they have for one of the regular sizes, or last year's model, or the navy they had before that. If they make some additional wide ones in the lighter/nearer white color they have currently for this shoe in regular, I'd buy another pair right away! Otherwise, I absolutely like this shoe and hope they keep making it in the wide size!!! I also hope they make the lone peak in a wide as they do now, but with a street sole!!! That would also be amazing!!!!!! And, I'd like to see the Escalante too in some wide sizes!!!!

I bought the Torin 7 in my usual size 9, wide width. However, I felt like they were too big and had to return and reorder a size 8.5 wide width, which fits nicely. I currently have run 40 miles in the shoes. Pros: new and improved comfortable tongue, nice cushioned sole while still being responsive, good lacing system, wide width is true to fit! Cons: stiff heel/rear-foot that puts some pressure on my lower ankle bones (malleolus), but this could be due to my foot sitting lower in the shoe, which causes some discomfort when making turns or running on cambered surfaces for extended periods. Overall, I like the shoe and will repurchase when this pair is worn out. I hope Altra continues to listen to customer reviews and make the appropriate adjustments. I like to reference the classic "Torin 4.5 Plush" in my opinion, as the gold standard (that shoe was awesome). Lastly, I hope more color options are added in the Wide Widths.

I really want to love these shoes. They're super plush, the heel is great, and as a hobbit-footed weirdo who has been unable to find any other pair of shoes that fit, the wide toe-box is a welcome relief. However, the shoe is really low volume, which makes it feel cramped and tight. Step up to the wide—because these are one of two Altras that come in wides—and it's like your foot is swimming in an ocean with the amount of room that adds. The difference between the regular and the wide here is like going from an E to a 6E and skipping the 2 and 4 E widths, which unfortunately puts some of us wider footed higher arch folks in a bind. The good news is that the shoe seems to breathe a bit as you use it. This could be a result of the plush sole compressing with footfalls. Though I haven't been able to take them on a longer run yet, so can't say how that will hold up over distance. The other major challenge is that the laces are very, very short. There are holes for a runner's loop, but barely enough lace tie to that knot. If you need that heel lockdown, you may need to consider swapping out for other laces. More good news, the shoe look awesome. Unlike some of older models, these don't look overly bulky, and Altra is killing it on the design and the colorways this year. I plan to pound a few more miles in these in the hopes they'll break in a bit more for my bulky foot. Would highly recommend them for any medium to narrow footed runners though, as it's just like running on clouds.

Altra has never really let me down and I believe that statement is still valid. I've been rocking the Torin 6's for over a year now and they have been my go-to shoe every day. I wear a size 12 in the 6 so I figured a 12 in the 7 would work as well, but I definitely should've gone with an 11.5. The size difference between the 6's and the 7's is really the main and only problem I have with them, besides the color options. We need a good neutral white color, similar to that of the 6!

The Men's Torin 7 Shoe has a lot of cushion to them. They have a wider area in the front for your toes which is a nice feature. The shoe laces seemed a bit short for my liking though. Overall good support and provides comfort for your feet, knees and ankles.

The TORIN 7 are great running shoes, nice width to allow for proper foot displacement while running. Design isn't anything flashy, but they definitely get the job done. Great shoes for the price, very comfortable.

I haven't run in the Torin in a few years, but I liked version 7, notably the additional cushioning and secure fit. After various paces, I recommend it for easy runs and recovery runs.

Full disclosure, I received this product for free in exchange for writing a review. With that being said, I have the Torin 6 and the Escalante Racers as well so these aren't my first Altra shoes. The cushioning is amazing, better than the Torin 6 and the feel of the mid and forefoot is great. My biggest gripe is with the heel, I'm not sure what they changed about it but I can't run in these due to my heel slipping. Maybe it has something to do with the shoe laces being too short to get a good fit. I'll be sticking with my Torin 6 and Escalante Racers for now.

First thing I noticed about the shoe is how light they were, instantly reminded me of some Nike Free. After putting them on it felt just like Nike Free , but with some actual cushion. These shoes feel great and they make you not want to take them off, even after your Run. I used these to run around the small island I live on in Miami, and I got to say my feet were comfortable throughout the run and I didn't have any pain in my feet like the Nike free shoes j had before. Given the flat terrain these shoes work great, I am not sure how great they would be hiking or going up steep hills, maybe they have other shoes for that but these are great alternatives to Nike free and are much more comfortable

I have tried this on walks and runs and it makes the going very smooth. I love the width that allows for extra toe space, and the cushioning is like something I haven't experienced before.

I've used many different Altra shoes including previous Torin versions. Unfortunately, these don't agree with my feet yet. The outside ankle support rubs my ankles the wrong way. Additionally, my toes go somewhat numb when running. While these are negative parts of the shoe, I've run/hiked/walked in several different models from Altra. I've loved all of them, so I'm not giving up hope on these at all. Everyone has different feet, so the current issues may just be my problem.

Having used Brooks Ghost 15 and Ultraboost 23 as my running gear, Altra Torin 7 was a breath of fresh air. The Ultraboost were too plush for a good running experience since the over cushioning needs additional effort with every step. The Ghost 15 had minimal cushioning and was okay for a jobber shoe but my feet got tired at the end of every run. Torin 7 has somehow managed to find a middle ground between those two. It has just the right amount of cushioning without compromising on the energy return. Some of the cons I noticed were that the shoe tends to get hot from the inside apparently because of a breathability issue. Some additional cushioning on the heel would have helped so if you're a heel heavy runner like me it might take some getting used to. Overall, quite happy with the shoe. Will need to put some more miles on it for the shoe to suit my feet.

The laces are too short if you like to back lace your shoes. I find that my heels if I don't back lace.

I am an avid runner, over the years I have tested out several running shoes. One issue Ive always had is that most of the shoes I used where too narrow, the torin 7's have the perfect width for my liking. They keep my feed healthy and comfortable on all terrain.

They are GREAT. The cushion in these shoes blows many other major brands out of the water. I would both recommend them and buy them again myself. Perfect for walking and running. Foot aches be gone!

I tried on a bunch of Altra models. I have wide fanned, high arch, low volume feet. The Torin 7s felt the most comfortable from the outset, almost already broken-in because the inner material slips around with decent running socks, i.e. Balegas, the sole is amazingly soft, but still has a nice elastic bounce from the midlayer, and are incredibly comfortable for walking. Like most Altras, the design is still tip-toeing the scope around the heel issue. I wouldn't risk jogging with these because the sole and midlayer are truncated too close to the heel to allow a long enough rolling onto the heel, and optimize a heel strikes momentum to keep kinetic energy mechanical in the runners joints than transfer it to blunt force heat that destroys the shoes heel and pain in the runners heel. So I would jog in these exclusively for mid foot to toe strike, never heel strike. The heel support is simply not long and concaved enough, with a greater subtended large-radius osculating circle, proportional to most people's heels, although it is wide and tall enough. ASICS has a very good heel strike, some notes could be gleaned or collaborated on to produce a masterpiece if these companies had a mashup design, at least for my heels. I can't speak for all heels.

The shoe looks good. It has improved comfort with the additional 2mm cushion. The feel of the shoe is comfortable and stable. Sole durability is a concern. After a week the grip patches are starting to peel back.

Kudos to Altra for fixing the tongue! The fit is the same as the Torin 6, but with a bit more plush under foot.

I run 3-4 days a week, for about 3-5 miles at a time, so a good running shoe is a must. I had actually never heard of the Torinbut it may have just not been a consideration because of the price. Having tried the shoe now, though, it's apparent that you get what you pay for! The show is a bit on the expensive side, but it's definitely a quality shoe, that gives a tight fit, and a cushion that helps when pounding that pavement. Having used the shoe for a little over a week, I don't seem to have the little aches and pains that go along with my usual running. Also, unlike my previous running shoe, there's no movement of my foot in between the shoeit's a tight fit. The only negative I've found is that on my left it digs into my ankle a little bitit doesn't do that on the right foot, for whatever reason. After a mile that seems to go awayso maybe I just need to adjust to the new shoe? Regardless, I'm loving them so far, and can say that it's a great running shoe!
