I spend 10+ hours on my feet a day as a physical therapist, personal trainer and teaching students. These shoes are glorious. Incredibly comfortable, great support and I love the way they look. I've recommended this shoe to countless colleagues, patients, family and friends. They're light in weight yet supportive.

Alleviates foot pain- very comfortable. As suggested, I ordered 1/2 size up and got a perfect fit.

Super comfortable and fit true to size. They have really good ankle support and we’re recommended by the surgeon who did my ankle surgery.

I used to wear Escalantes but I got these and love them so much more. My feet don't hurt on long runs anymore because they have more cushioning and they are holding up much better than my old shoes. I have about 400 miles on my Provisions now and I always had to replace the Escalantes around 300. I also haven't got shin splints since July (knock on wood) thanks to only running in Altras. Currently buying another pair!

I've been running in the same tried & true running shoe by a different brand but was really enticed to try Altra for the roomy toe box. I used the shoe finder + size guide and ended up with an amazing shoe. It was a little bit of an adjustment from the shoe I have been running in for 10+ years, but I have been running in these Altra's for almost 200 miles now with no injuries or other issues. I am so excited because I LOVE the roomy toe box and the rest of the shoe is just as great. I have never been able to wear a different brand than the one I wore before these so I'm shocked but so happy it worked out. Excellent shoe, Altra. Already purchased a second pair and looking forward to many more! Don't change a thing except yeah I do agree with the others and ask please make the laces a little longer but everything else is perfect! ;)

I purchased this because I loved the Provision 5 and thought it was just the new year version. It is different. The 6, firmer, more arch support and additional lacing. At first I was disappointed and put off wearing them for a few days. I woke up one morning and my lower back felt off. I put the Provision 6 on and instantly the back was fine. Have worked out in them and love them. I had them on all day found them to be a great walker too. I have wide metatarsals so I love the foot base, lots of room to spread my toes. I wear a 10, but Altra I wear 10.5.

I love the wide toe box. The top is shaped like a foot. Plenty of room for toes especially sincei have a tailors bunion. I just wish there was a st,e that wasn't a zero drop. I'm getting used to it but would prefer a more regular fit.

This is my favorite version of the Provision to date. The cushioning is softer but still feels supportive. Love the fit in the heel and the midfoot - the tongue doesn't slide around anymore like in previous versions.

I LOVE Altras - I have Lone Peaks, Torin Plush, and Timps. I needed a replacement for my Torin Plush since they are getting run down after 250+ miles. I ran a half marathon in them and got blisters so felt that I need more of a stability shoe. I went with these after a lot of research (and buying and hating the Brooks Adrenalines). I immediately loved the feel of these when I put them on! They felt fantastic! I could tell that the guardrails were also going to be good for me. In the first day, I ran a 7 mile run (probably too much, but it was a gamble). I LOVED them...up until 5 miles. They felt faster, more nimble and stable than my Torin Plush's but I started getting HUGE blisters around mile 5 on a strange area of my foot that I don't normally get blisters in. The blisters were on both sides inside my foot between the arch and my toes. I inspected the shoe and found a couple potential issues: 1) the removeable sole is too wide for the shoe bed (I may end up cutting it) and 2) the fabric mesh on top of the shoe creases right there pinching anything nearby smashed between the mesh and the sole of the shoe. These appear to be design flaws and I'll just have to find a way to deal with them weather it be with using KT tap, cutting the sole, or some other solution. Such a shame, but it's a great shoe. I bought them to train for my next half marathon but it looks like it'll be a long road ahead of managing these issues.

I bought a 10.5 in Dusty Pink. I loved the color which was the deciding factor for me. I have naturally wider feet than most. The width was set as standard, I bought the Escalante 3 before these and loved the width, so I was surprised to find these to be too narrow. I was disappointed and thought maybe I could stretch them out but read that if you 'have' to do that then it means it'a not a good fit so I returned them instead. I loved the extra track on the bottom and did I say the color? Beautiful shoe just too narrow. I would recommend for people with narrow feet.

Does anyone have issues with them making so much noise on the floor? The soles are rubber and they are annoying to me. The fit is great, though.

I was looking for a long-distance walking shoe (510 miles) on dirt/paved roads. I own the Lone Peak for hiking and was looking for something with a bit more cushion. This felt very similar to the Lone Peak, so I'll have to see if another style hits that sweet, softer spot!

Great Yellow color, they dry really fast, just prefer a stronger/stabler arch.

After being pleasantly surprised by the fit and feel of this shoe, I felt compelled to write a review especially where it's both an incredible value at the time of my purchase (just after Black Friday 2022), and given my experience in trying to find shoes that fit well, and look good (sometimes, you can have one, but not the other). Which is to say: this was my "backup" choice, and I did not have high expectations. I originally purchased (full-price) the Via and Provision 7 from a popular site that sells shoes, as I view quality footwear as an investment in my health, and I really like a gray colorway (even though a running store specialist cautioned me years ago to focus on function over aesthetic, but...I still like pretty things). I'd also ordered the Torin and the Lone Peak hiker with this order, yet knew I'd only want to keep one. I had reservations about this particular model given that it seemed (by Altra standards) narrower than other picks, and while I've got a slim heel, I have a wide toe splay, plus mild bunions (not severe enough to warrant surgery; wearing foot-shaped shoes has been fine enough to not exacerbate the issue). I also intend to start running again between now and the spring, and wanted something that could help support the transition. For context: I'm coming off a well-worn pair of Escalantes (I believe the model is 2.5?) my first pair of Altras; I weight train in Merrell Gloves, classic Vibrams and Luna sandals which recently started to cause shin pain as I'd worn through the cushioning over the past 15 months. Not bad, given that I go between 2 and 3 miles, sometimes up to 5, plus occasional errands, daily. I'm also fairly dense petite, but muscular, and weigh approx. 140 pounds at 5'4" and 40 years old which I think can contribute to how quick a person goes through a shoe. All of which is to say: I'm impressed. My feet feel supported, but not overly so (maybe some prefer the ultra-cushioning and associated height of the Via, but...definitely not for me); there's spring and bounce, but naturally so, and not forced. I also feel balanced in both posture and gait. It was fabulous, too, that I was able to stick with my normal size 8 once I find a brand/style I like, I tend to stick with it and simply reorder when the time to do so comes. It can be frustrating when a company "improves" its form...and takes away the things that made it great to begin with. These just arrived today, and so I'll be taking them to the street tomorrow for my first jaunt; my review is based on the gleeful dance I've taken through my living room. But, again: I'm so thankful I was able to score a pair of well-priced sneakers even though I was willing to spend twice as much that will tide me through the start of 2023, and possibly just beyond. (And, really: I have no affiliation with Altra; I'm just a person who is thankful to have discovered the brand after years of trying/searching for something like this (zero drop, but cushioned).) P.S. - Why four stars instead of five? Well, make it more like 4.5: I wish there were more neutral colorways. If you look at the men's version of this style, there are some softer shades that I would have opted for first particularly the sand and/or pale gray. Pure white is not for me, but the navy I opted for will do just fine. Thanks for reading! Hope it helps.

I like these shoes and think the width is perfect. Sizing is weird though - my mom and I both fit them (she's taken them from me fully haha) and she is a 6-6.5 and I am a 7-7.5 but we can both wear them? I like the soles a lot but I don't think they are very supportive. My right foot still pronates even with the "support". My foot felt way more held together in the paradigm, which is what I ended up using. HOWEVER, oh my gosh the color choice for this shoe is THE BEST I have ever seen come out of Altra!!! Alta hasn't been known for the best shoe colors, like ever, but man!! I couldn't believe my luck when these came out! Which is why it was all the more disappointing when they fit my mom better than me. But Altra! Please take notes! Please keep more color palettes like this coming out!! And even better, put these colors on more shoes! I want these colors on the paradigm for sure!!!!!!

I LOVE the fit of these shoes! Where have they been all my life?? But they squeak....a lot. I've tried them on different types of flooring and the sound is the same. I'll try them for a couple more days inside the house and if they still squeak at that point, they'll have to go back. I took off one star for the noise =/

Color is more fire engine, less “raspberry” as described, but so comfortable and great amount of room in the toe box.

I've always ran in escalates, but wanted to give the provisions a try and I love them! They're super comfortable, definitely have more cushion than the escalates, but not as much as the Torins. They fit a little more snug around the mid foot which I think it feels really good! I think these will be my new go-to road shoe!

Glad they upgraded the tongue from the 4! I don't get as many miles out of them because they break down fast but great shoe. Super comfy and I do road/trail mixed runs.

First time buying Altra brand. I had to return for a half size bigger and that was perfect. Love the toe box on them, the absolute best over any other brand! Good stability if you pronate, but lack in arch support if you are on your feet all day. I like the style and wide array of colors to pick from.

Pros 1. The color 2. The color 3. .think of something else OH! Just a plain great Altra shoe. Love the cushion in the heel. Did great on my speed workout 4. Is it appropriate to say the color again? Con 1. Wish I would have ordered a half size smaller. It kind of felt like I was going to slip out the back of it.
