Great thickness in the heel. No more heel pain.

I was fitted at a local running store. I'm a nurse who works 4 13-14 hour shifts weekly so comfort, stability and endurance are so important to me. This is my second pair of this shoe and I also have another pair of altras. I'll literally never wear another brand to work in. I cannot say enough about how they've taken away my back and feet pain through a shift.

This is my second pair of these shoes and I love them. I both run and walk in them and they work well for both. I have wide feet and often my pinky toe gets jammed against the sides of shoes because of how I stand/move. Not every Altra works for me (e.g. Lone Peaks don't but Timps do). I had the Paradigm before the Provision and found the Provision to be the roomier/better fit of the two. Other good points: Cushioning is nice, lacing system that hugs the arches is great, heel lock lacing holes are appreciated... and the colors aren't embarrassing (like with some other shoe manufacturers). Good job, Altra team.

I switched to this shoe on a whim, I am glad I did. Toe box is wide enough without being too big. Bottom of the shoes definitely have more traction then I am used to with running shoes. I feel like that just extends the life of the shoe. They have held up in a lot of rain storms lately and they do a decent job repelling water (until you just step deep in a puddle). They seem to last longer than other brands. Good shoes for 20+ mile weeks. The fibers do collect dirt easier than other shoes but overall great shoe. They are light weight and as someone that tends to slide on running shoes the back of the shoes really last without ruining the foam. They are easy to put on and the back tab is designed well. I wish they had more colors of this shoe.

This color is probably the most impractical of all, but I love it. This is my second pair of provision 6s, had the gray ones before. While I do like them, I wish they were more durable. My first pair only lasted six months before it lost structure/support and developed a hole in the top. I have worn Altras for three years now and the durability seems to be an ongoing issue.

Provision is the only Altra I've found that helps with the pronation. Keeps my foot mostly level and securely in the shoe. It feels true to size though in my normal size I would a thicker sock but cannot with this one. Works out fine, but Altra seems to be kind of wonky with the consistency of the sizing lately. I can walk longer without leg fatigue with Provision. Plus the metatarsal is protected. The high back worried me thinking it might hurt the achilles but it has an outward angle that leaves the achilles alone. This is the shoe with the guide rail which seems to help. I ordered another pair because they don't seem to last as long as they used to in the past. Altra seems to moving away from their original purpose and that is going to make me have to look at other brands. Also makes me sad. Been an Altra fan for a long time.

First time trying Altra and I am very impressed! I use this for boot camp style classes as well as road and trail running. Excellent lateral/medial support for a variety of exercises and super soft and light ride for running. Also, easy on the eyes-I received multiple compliments the first day I wore them!

I ordered the normal size I wear for running shoes. Recently moved to an area that mainly has concrete and asphalt options for running, so I wanted something that would help cushion against that. This is my first time wearing Provision, and they definitely work great for me. They are as comfortable as all the other Altra shoes I've worn in the past.

I have one pair of these for running, and just purchased another pair for walking because they are so comfortable. I struggle with plantar fasciitis, and the support in these shoes is fantastic.

Been wearing Altra Lone Peaks and Duo (not made anymore). Wanted another 'Duo', lots of cush, wide box toe, arch support. These didn't cut it. I had a 'duo' on 1 foot and 'provision' on the other. The provision is a slightly tighter. I called Altra directly, and they said there shouldn't be any difference. They have not changed the fit, but different models have different foot shapes. The Rivera they said, is considered their 'slimmer' fit. So, even though i had sized up 1/2, i'm returning and going another 1/2 size up, totaling 1 full size.

They feel a little tight at first, but they stretch a little and feel less tight after a few times of wearing them. Best shoe for Plantar Fasciitis. Love them

These are a lifesaver. I have a plethora of issues with my feet, plantar fasciitis to name one. I am a teacher and stand all day we can’t sit and these sneakers have changed my life. I usually wear Brooks Ghost but those were starting to get stretched out and not hold up. These sneakers are everything I could ask for and my feet don’t throb by noon like they used to.

Anyone with problem feet like me (bunions & the problems that go with) understands a lifelong quest for comfortable shoes. Currently recovering from 2nd metatarsal full fracture and needed zero drop shoes with plenty of room in the toe box. This shoe was super comfortable right out of the box and still awesome after walking on pavement for a few miles. Note: followed the advice of several reviewers to order up 1/2 size and the fit is perfect for me. Also has plenty of room for toe separators. Will definitely be ordering additional pairs.

Out of the box, I used it for my 100 mile road race! Most of the shoes I have used in the past hurt my toes I end up loosing them. This shoes fit perfectly around my toes, wide enough for my toes can move around to promote blood flow. It was the perfect cushion on those hot pavement. My hips and knees did not bother me, it was something I was waiting to happen during the race and it never bothered me and I think it was the shoes, 100%!

These shoes are very comfortable, and I love the wide toe area! I wear full foot orthotics, so I sized up a half size to accommodate the orthotics.

Ran my first run in these today, they felt great. I didn't think I'd like the support it gives my ankle (which is high), but they've been comfortable & my toes feel great too. I have wide feet & didn't find them too narrow at all. I've gone on a few walks in these always on pavement & my joints feel great afterwards. I would highly recommend. So glad I went to Heart & Soul, my local running shoe store.

they ride like a DREAM! They are supportive yet cushiony, and they have nice bounce and give back. They're just super comfy. I've taken them on some very short runs after a 50 miler. I have to say they were a perfect choice for a post long race recovery run shoe. I'm looking forward to testing them at mid distance, to see if they'd be a great every day trainer. (Umm, something tells yes!)

I love the fit of these shoes, I have a pair of Altra that I have worn out that are no longer available so I tried this style and love them. I am on my feet on concrete much of the day and these work great. The arch support is just right for me, very comfy.

OMG! I was wondering about Altra after the latest debacle with the Mont Blanc, but the Provision has redeemed my love for the brand. For those that loved the Brooks Pure Connect, this has the support and cushion of that shoe with the toe box of the Escalante. This is really the shoe for those with a narrow heel cup and roomy toe box. It is more for those with low volume/narrow feet. As someone with narrow feet this is the perfect shoe for me from Altra.

My first pair of Provision 6. They look and feel great. I agree with others that shoestrings are too short!

Most runners make the balls of my feet and my toes hurts after about an hour. Even just wearing them walking all day. Well that is gone. The wide foot base is heaven. The support of the foot soft yet supportive. I ordered an additional color. Love just walking in these or even just standing.
