This backpack is our six year old's elementary necessity for books, projects, homework, extra sweatshirt, bug spray, lunch, water, extra shoes, etc. Simply organizes items for an easy to find retrieval. Durable. Easy to use zippers.

Ordered this backpack for my daughter, who started Pre K this year to use through school. My experience with an LL Bean backpack was fantastic as I was able to use it from Elementary School all the way until Senior Year. I was very happy with the quality (expected) and pattern. I was not pleased with the size of the monogram printing. I had ordered the junior backpack for my son and the font was much larger - you would think the font would have been just as large on the "original" backpack but it is much smaller.

My daughter had a Junior backpack for both years of preschool and I was incredibly impressed with the quality ... the bag is still in amazing shape after 2 years of use. Because of this, we stuck with LL Bean and chose this backpack for Kindergarten. The colors are beautiful and vibrant which my daughter loves. It is almost perfect ... it just needs a buckle chest strap !!! Her lunch bag makes the bag heavier and it slips off her shoulders while walking to school. LL Bean please consider adding this feature :-)

I love the backpacks even when I was growing up, I wish there was a stopper on the straps as my son with autism pulls the straps off constantly, i also wish you would make adaptive/wheelchair friendly kids backpacks, but otherwise the quality is great for it, material is great!

They were too big, straps didn't give snug/secure fit on their backs. But, we make it work!!!

The backpack is fine but the monogram is so small. I wish it were a little bigger or in a different spot, like on the front pocket, so that it wouldn't seem so small.

The backpack is great. However I got the same monogram style on my son's backpack and the font is much smaller on this one and I wish they were both the same size.

I bought this backpack for my daughter before she started kindergarten. It's held up well all school year, but the material feels cheap to me, the fabric covering the zipper gets stuck frequently in the zipper, and 1 side pocket for a water bottle isn't ideal. The pocket is also too small and I'm always worried my daughter's 18oz water bottle will fall out. I'll be buying her a different backpack for 1st grade.

Feels thin and scratchy. Doesn't seem like it will last long.

Pros is the size and easy to clean material. Cons are the straps are very stiff, there is only one water bottle pocket and the ease of the zipper is hindered by the flap.

Nice backpack but not worth the high price. Smaller than expected without much room to grow.

Doesnt feel like fabric rather some kind of stiff plastic material...although pattern is cute. Price is good but not the same quality that these backpacks used to have. Did not expect this from LLBean.

This is a cute backpack and has decent space (not huge, for middle school definitely size up) but it is most uncomfortable to wear. The straps are hard and stiff and my daughter is uncomfortable with it on.

Looking forward to grandson using this backpack from preschool through elementary school, but oh, what has happened to the monogram fonts? 'Block' used to be a bold, filled-out font, and now is thin and widely spaced, 'lime' thread color not as bright as it should be - this is not like the sample depicted in the preview. Fonts have been redigitized. Please reconsider the changes!

The book pack is pretty and seems well made. But I returned it, because the straps are narrow, hard, stiff and uncomfortable.

Cute backpack but missing an interior pocket/laptop area that would be good to keep folders and delicate papers separate. I had a less expensive bag last year that had that.

My 8yo said it's uncomfortable. Too big for her shoulders perhaps. We had to put it away into a closet. Hopefully for the future.

This bag is perfect for my 2nd grader! Big enough to hold everything she wants/needs, padded back to keep her comfy, a perfectly sized water bottle holder on the side, AND the print is adorable.

Nice backpack, but I chose black letters and I thought they would be on the grey part but they're not and only the first letter shows. I wish I was told that

My daughter says the straps are hard. Also paid for name, and it's so tiny you can barely see it.

My daughter has only been using this book bag for one week in Kindergarten, and the reflective strip is already damaged. I expected better quality from LL Bean. Im hoping this is the only part of the book bag that wears down that quickly.

I bought this backpack for my first grader - love the design and got the matching lunchbox - however, the backpack ripped before the end of the school year. I was expecting the backpack to last longer than one school year, especially for a first grader since he's not carrying much at this age.

Love the backpack... and the material is perfect... the only problem is here the monogram was placed! Paid extra for the monogram and there was a nice "blank" spot, but the initials were placed where some of the busy print is...
