I love these backpacks, my only complaint is the writing looked much darker when I ordered and I can't even see the names . Otherwise they will last a lifetime

I got so many emails asking for a review. Calm down guys! It is a backpack with straps and pockets and is made of fabric. Seems good.

We got this for my son's 5th birthday. We've only had it for about a week, but it has lots of space, and an interesting pattern. Only problem with the dinosaur pattern is that there's an elephant chilling with them. My son did notice, but fortunately didn't mind. Just in case anyone's kid is a stickler out there.

I like to use something for a bit before I write a review. This has been in use for 3 months for a Kindergartener... everything about it is perfect EXCEPT for that little flap that "covers" the zipper. That thing gets caught in the zipper constantly!!! It's just at the wrong size so it matches up and gets caught. My solution has been to bend it backward and use large safety pins to secure it back out of the way. That was my second idea, as opposed to cutting it off which I feared would make a mess of it. So, if they could solve that issue, I would buy this same bag each year. As is, I wouldn't buy another or recommend it.

This was our first L.L. Bean purchase. I'd heard good things about their backpacks and wanted to give it a try. This was purchased at the end of Aug for a 1st grader. One of the zippers on the main pocket broke within the first month. One zipper still worked. Brought the bag back to the store that it was purchased in - without the receipt. The sales clerk was very helpful, able to find my purchase, and assisted me in an exchange. They didnt have this bag in the store, but it was shipped to me in less than a week. The new bag is great, no issues. I would definitley recommend.

Book bags from LLBean are very durable and you can wash them. And monogram them.

While Paxton loves his alligator backpack and is pleased with the quality, it is rather large for a kindergartener.

Roomy and sturdy backpack with a cute design. Material seems strong to withstand the hardships that children put backpacks through.

We love the backpack, the only issue was with the monogram. The writing is very small in comparison to all our other monogrammed bags from LL Bean

Excellent quality materials. Needs a taller water bottle holder - so short only small containers stay put. A second bottle holder or open side pocket would also be a good addition.

Decent quality backpack. Fabric seems a bit thin, but the pattern is great and there are lots of pockets

Great backpack. High quality like you'd expect from LL Bean. My daughter loves loading it up and told me every thing she was going to put in each pocket. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the Internet listing wasn't quiet true to color. This led to get name being kind hard to read. Still loved it, wouldn't trade it.

Good, sturdy pack. What I feel it's missing is a second water bottle pouch on the other side and a strap on each side handy for clipping wet or soiled things to.

Seems like it will be great but I wish it had a chest strap.

The print was very cheery & pretty. But the straps were hard and stiff. The backpack also felt heavy on my back, bc I used it as a book bag. Unfortunately, I returned it due to the straps and the weight.

It nice but wish it had an extra packet for water bottles, it has only one on the side . I won't get it again just because of that please llbean change that because it's off balance when the bottle is placed . I needs two . Color is nice and fabric is good . Zipper is good we have it for a year but next year I get other one with two water bottles storage .

The only real drawback is that there is only one big pocket :(

Monogram is too small and so light in color even with the color suggested by Ll bean. Otherwise, looks like a good size for a 3rd grader.

Good product. My 9 year old daughter is very happy with it. She likes both the colors and size of the bag. Delivery was delayed like a week and the zippers are not that smooth. Other than those everything is perfect.

This backpack has a lot of storage for my first grader. The daisy pattern Is super cute and is constructed very well! My only feedback I have received from my daughter is that the straps are a little wide and slippery for narrow shoulders (my daughter is very petite). She is use to more of a hiking backpack with padded straps and a chest strap.

Not as heavy duty as I was think, but still made well and works great for my young kids.

It's a bit stiff but will probably wear well. Also I wish there was an interior pocket.

The backpack is exactly what my daughter needed to start Kindergarten. It will grow with her.

Perfect for my 6 year old entering 1st grade. I love the price and the sturdiness of it, I expect him to use it all through elementary school. I only gave 4 stars not for quality but for the lack of patterns for boys. My kids like trucks and trains, I was surprised there wasn't a pattern like that.
