Bought this for my 16 year old grandson and he really likes it. He said he will flex the llbean sewn in the front. I hope it keeps him warm.

This jacket is true to size and very light and soft. I bought it for my dad and he was very happy. He didn't get a chance to wear it in cold temperatures yet, but I would expect it to be relatively warm

This jacket was purchased to replace an L.L.Bean parka that is old and torn. It is a nice shade of blue and has a great hood. It looks warm and well made. I am hoping that it will be as great as the one I previously purchased.

The mens's Ultralight 850 Down Hooded Jacket is outstanding. I have two other 850 Down jackst from LL Bean which I use regularly, but with a hood this jacket is warmer and more veristile in cold and slightly wet conditions. The jacket was purchased the end of February, when winter was ending and we were into early cold spring. In Sothern New Hampshire, our springs are cold, wet and windy, -- this one was no exception. The Down Jacket was the ideal coat. It is light, warm, with a tight fitting hood, so I could go out in almost any weather and stay warm and dry from the light rain or snow. From my experiences, I recommend the jacket for hiking, anyone doing light work outside- (the jacket could be used as an inner layer for heavier-duty work), for children waiting for the bus in early spring or late fall, or any other activities where you want a lightweight warm jacket.

It was purchased as a gift. The jacket was very well received. It fit perfectly, it looks great, the delivery was right on schedule. It was a good order for all of us and I am positive there will be several more purchases from LL bean this year.

Nice light weight and properly sized. Well constructed and conservatively styled. Extra warm in the neck area due to the quilted hood. It's not super warm but can be with the right undergarments. Compresses very well without wrinkling.

Sat at grandson's high school baseball double header 6.5 hours in 42 degrees in 10 mph wind. Everyone else was miserable in parkas with hoodies underneath. I had a lightweight 1/4 zip and long sleeve lightweight t-shirt underneath. And was comfortable. I was only one not complaining.

For a garment that weighs about the same as a postage stamp it is amazingly warm. Would I want to stand outside all day in a NH snow storm in this? No. I own an LL Bean Maine Wardens Parker for that. My work keeps me outside for 10+ hours every day in all kinds of weather and this ultra light down jacket seems better geared for dry windless chilly fall and spring days not winter in NH. This is not the jacket for a nor'easter. That said, because of its light weight, superior insulation and amazing pack-ability this is probably the best and warmest choice you could ever make as an under layer for any jacket, parka, shell or rain coat. I wore this under an unlined rain coat in freezing rain, hail and snow at 33 and was perfectly comfortable with minimal activity. You might think you own the warmest jacket on earth until you wear this underneath it. It's a game changer.

Love it! I bought my first one over 10 years ago as a insulation layer under my ski school shell uniform. I use it every day and it still performs like new. The zippers work fine and it looks like new. I was seeking that level of warmth and comfort in an insulation layer for my travel ski bag, so i got another one. I'm looking forward to many years of great performance from the new one. I love the color and looks.

I like the hooded version of this coat. I've had two others without the hood and with the hood, the neck is higher and on really cold days up goes the hood when doing my morning walks with the dog in north western NYS.
