As a birthday gift for my son...he was much pleased with our choice as a present...cannot go wrong with any wearable clothing from L.L. Bean!!!

This is one of the best I've had. Over the years I owned three well known brands. This is the warmest and lightest in it class. The shell is good at turning rain off and even after several min. the jacket stays warm. I also like the way it stops wind and the draw strings are a help, the hood is a plus in bad weather. Deep side pockets and zipper breast pocket are great for light carrying. My two cons are shell needs protection in underbrush and wrist area could be tighter. The jacket is washable and easy to care for. For a normal person without medicals issue the jacket is good down to 18-20 degrees with a light breeze, the 850 works. I used this for two months and very pleased so far. Will follow up later after more wear time.

Amazingly light yet robustly warm. This is my favorite jacket because it's so versatile. You can layer it and still be comfortable in 20 degree weather and is awesome at providing pretty solid rain protection. Highly recommended.

Completely satisfied with this purchase! After trying on 2 other styles this jacket is perfect. A present for my husband & he really likes it. Light weight, and warm. Good fill of down & the carbon navy with the orange zippers look great. Very happy with this jacket. He even stuffed it in its own pocket & we put it in a backpack while indoors at Boat & RV show. This is a fantastic jacket- very warm, comfortable, and just the right amount of insulation. I was actually surprised at just how windproof and warm this jacket is. Tightens up nicely around the waist, the hood is also comfortable and warm. I would say this has an athletic fit but has plenty of room for a sweatshirt underneath. Spent a lot of time researching this jacket, I normally wear a large in most everything, but was unsure about the tall sizes. Ended up going to the bean store in person and tried on both the tall and the regular and the regular was a little bit better for me. I'm about 6'3", 187 pounds. The large was plenty long in the sleeves and waist, the long size I feel added a little bit more room around the waist, and maybe another inch or two in length, which I did not like. This is worth every penny, and if you're on the fence, just go for it! Very happy with this jacket. I also have a mountain classic vest, this is multiple levels warmer.

My wife gave this to me as a Christmas gift. I love the fit and the warmth of this lightweight coat. I may have to purchase another one for my son because he keeps taking mine I'm a man of many coats and this is now my favorite. Keep up the good work.

My husband is always cold but he hates wearing bulky jackets. I bought this jacket for him for Christmas and he not only has not complained about being cold (temps in the 30's), but he loves the light weight. It is a wonderful jacket!

Bought this for my son as a compromise between the lightweight Primaloft jacket that IMO isn't warm enough for New England winters and a parka, which is too much when fired to wear it in school all day. He LOVES it! Warm enough to wear when it's cold/windy yet light and comfortable. Hood fits to head and stays in place as well

Absolutely love this jacket. As someone who spends a lot of time in the mountains photographing, it's wonderful to have this jacket on standby when it gets cold. It packs up nice and neat and fits right in my bag. I own two of these jackets, one in green and one in yellow. I get complements everywhere I go. I am typically accustomed to wearing NorthFace summit series jackets or arc'teryx but LLBean has upped their game with quality and style over the last 10 years or so. If you were to look into my closet now.you'd find 90% or more of the items I own are LLBean now. Can't recommend this brand enough!
