Comfortable and light weight, just not as warm as I had hoped.

Amazing packable lightweight --exactly what it is. Great quality. Ran a tad bit small. Kid is 5'9", 125 lb and it was a bit tight. Yes, i called for size recco and it was suggested i purchase a small--- he needed the medium. Would i purchase again? Yes. Just needed to try another size. Runs small. Super warm and not bulky

It's fine. Warm and lightweight...a bit overpriced. We'd like to see more color options besides the standard blues

Very pleased with the quality of this coat. I was not expecting this to keep me as warm as it does. Incredible wind proof coat and honestly the warmest jacket I have ever owned. The only reason for the loss of one star is that the exterior can tear easily so you need to be cautious.

Extremely lightweight and (seemingly) warm jacket. However, the fit was quite large and it was too small for my 150 pound frame. Sad it doesn't come in an extra small for me.

Light weight. Good fit. Very adjustable with pulls. Just the right amount of insulation for my use.

I bought this jacket to replace an older Beans down jacket and the lighter weight Beans PrimaLoft packaway jacket. The warmth and color (sadle) are great. My only complaint is the size. With it being "slightly fitted", I found the medium too small and the large (which is what I went with) a tad too big. It seems that very few Beans jackets are regular fit these days.

I really have enjoyed this coat, my one concern is the fact that the coat does not keep me warm as described. I go to a game reserve to enjoy the outdoors. I have gone several times in weather between 15 degrees to 25 degrees. I was wearing an insulated shirt, t-shirt, and wool sweater. I am usually out side for one to two hours. There was a 15 to 30 mile an hour wind. I do not know if the wind was the factor, but I did find myself shivering.

I question the size. I almost feel I could have used XL. Otherwise It's a very nice jacket. Also wish I would have been notified of the veterans discount at the time I ordered.

I usually wear a large in jackets, and have had at least 10 other down jackets before. I over-sized this one to layer over a thick fleece. Upon arrival, it fit me well in shoulders and chest (I'm large there), but was pretty baggy in the lower torso, so much that it held a lot of cold air, which affected the warmth when lot layered over another thick top. It seems a bit under-filled with down, vs my other similar jackets, and it lacks a smooth liner layer of nylon, which does keep the weight down, but also makes it less wind-resistant and warm, given the sewn-through baffles. I like that the hood has actual drawstrings around the face, which many companies have gotten rid of in these mid-weight down jackets, but don't like that the hood ends below the chin, rather than covering the mouth when fully zipped up, and would also like to see a 2nd drawstring or velcro tab at the back of the hood, to adjust the volume, as the brim did come down over my eyes a bit, even with the front drawstrings snugged down. Having a velcro adjustment at the wrist cuffs would also be nice, so as to have the option to wear it either over or under my gloves. It is decent for the price, but needs to have the features and cut refined a bit.

I love this jacket and have bought 3 in the past 3 years! The fit is perfect, just a tad big so I can wear a heavy layer on cold days below 25 or so!!!The one problem I have encountered with this jacket is that the outside shell constantly rips, and once that happens, the feathers leak like water!!If I was a outdoor worker or hard user,I would understand that it would occasionally rip,but my most recent purchase which is not cheap@$259.00+tax,and is only 1 month old has a couple tiny leaks and 1 big one and that's what kills a awesome jacket! I'm hoping LL Bean will honor my purchase with a new jacket as I'm not looking for my money back, especially with it barely being a month old! Anyone else having this problem with these jackets as 3 jackets in 3 years???Hopefully LL Bean will see this and respond with some answer for me as I said I'm not looking for $$$!!!Thank you,KM

Wore this through this winter. Good but I've got the Wardens parka that takes me below zero. Very comfortable, extremely light weight. It is my everyday-go to jacket on all but rainy days.

Good quality.
The one negative is the large /puffy stitching with larger boxes of down, that makes the coat overall bulky and not as packable.
The fit is a little larger, which makes it a comfortable coat/jacket or if you want to wear a sweat shirt underneath. However, if you want to wear it with just a t-shirt, then the jacket feels large (oversized) and bulky.
Ordered at the end of season so I did not have a chance to test the warmth in the frigid cold winter or strong winds. It may happen next winter.
Ordered the pine/ cedar color. It is very attractive and pleasant color, easy to accessorize with lots of clothing styles.

I really like this coat, and it might just be me and how I feel the cold, but it doesn't seem like it keeps me warm down to 25 degrees. I'd say I can wear this and be comfortable enough when it is 40 degrees and up. Still a good coat and very comfortable.

I like it. Be aware that it is not for cold weather. The quantity of down in it is minimal. I wear it at 40 some degrees, no colder (but I'm 85 years old).
Good features: Hood with drawstring, deep pockets with zip, top front pocket, front zips way up but not up from bottom. Meets a need.

Light in weight and comfortable. In very cold or windy conditions, I wore a sweater or sweatshirt.

Happy with this purchase. Jacket fits well; zippers work without fuss; size is good for me. A bit snug at the waist, but that's good for retaining body heat. I'm starting to notice microtears where down feathers are beginning to shed. Hopefully this does not persist. I like the colors of mine (blue with orange zippers). The hood is also good at keeping in the heat. Would recommend.

Lacking down in the panels of the back of the jacket. Let me start that my Whole family loves these jackets. This is the second one that I own. My first one is warm and filled well with down. The last one that I purchased is more of a late spring jacket. I always felt that it was less puffy than my first one. Upon investigating further i see that the panels on my back have little too no down in them. What down are in those panels are off to one side of the jacket. I still recommend the jacket to anyone wanting a light weight jacket but they are not made like they used to be.

My fifteen year old son is very selective in what he wears. Which is normal for a freshman in high school who wants to look "in". This winter coat is not too bulky & it is very warm / comfortable for his mornings at the bus stop. I ordered the navy & it is great with khakis, athletic pants & jeans.
Thank you LL Bean I knew I could depend on your quality.

I like this jacket. It had more down than I was expecting. Bought XL Tall. I'm 6'3" and 195 lbs. 70 years old. I'm active-row daily and like to hike.
Wish it was a slimmer fit in the belly area to layer better under a shell. I think a Large(Tall) would've been too tight in the shoulders. So I'm stuck with an XL with too much room in the belly area.
Maybe I should eat more pizza!
PROS:
Well made.
Extra large pocket (open/no zip) on interior to stash stuff like gloves.
Good amount of quality down throughout.
Hood pulls on each side to tighten. The
hem at waist pulls to tighten (both sides)
CONS:
Too baggy through the middle.
Hood needs another pull on top back of head to work with side pulls to adjust
fully.

The pocket zipper catches the slack material on the inside of the pocket. I purchased a new jacket last month due to the same issue the zipper repeatedly caught the loose material on the inside of the pocket. The jacket became unwearable.

I expected this jacket to have more down fill than it had. Also it was not as warm as I expected.

A bit more than "slightly" fitted. A reasonably heavy sweater will not fit under the coat. A regular cut would be better for layering

I've always been a good customer and usually am satisfied. Everytime I take the jacket I have feathers on my sweater very disappointed in the quality of this garment which was not cheap .
