I'm 66 yrs. old and living in Minnesota. It's been a very cold fall with temperatures already in the single digits. When I got this jacket I was really surprised by how lightweight it is. Now that I've worn it in single-digit temps with a decent wind I am really happy with my purchase. Just what I wanted; light, warm , and it has a hood.

I bought this jacket for very cold weather. While I live in Mid-Atlantic region, we do occasionally receive super cold weather, but I visit Minnesota and wanted something warmer. I recently was in Minnesota and wore this jacket for the first time. It kept me warm and dry throughout the visit. I highly recommend it. Of course, I bought a size larger so that I could wear layers when needed.

Great jacket!
I can be out in a t-shirt in 45-50 degree weather with my jacket and be nice and comfortable.

Jacket is comfortable and warm enough for moderate cold. 20-40 degrees. Very light with nice warm hood. Definitely recommend.

I do a 4 mile walk every morning and for the past 3 mornings I wore the jacket. Hands down this is the best winter jacket I have ever owned. It is very light weight, and I was very comfortable in the jacket in 25-40 degree outside temperature. I was never too hot, and not cold at all. I am look forward to using the jacket everyday this winter.

This thing is light. Maybe too light. You don't feel too hot or cold while wearing this. I doubt this will keep u warm below freezing but as far as 30 degrees goes this thing will be great. It fits true to size and isn't really stretchy.

Great jacket until the first washing. After washing and drying per the care tag the jacket lost its loft and isn't the same.

This is the most versatile and stylish coat Ive gotten from L.L.Bean thus far. The colors are phenominal, it fits like a glove, and the metallic finish makes it easy to see at night. My only complaint is that it's not nearly as warm as I expected. The jacket loses it's warming ability at around 32 farenheit.

Tried to replace a beloved 10 yr old parka, but it was too tight across the back. Not quite long enough for this old farmer. Good for going to grocery store, but not for outside work. Returned.

Plenty warm! 30 degrees. Hood doesn't zip in so I'd rather have without hood

A really nice jacket that I really like. When I bought it, I had hoped it would be warm down to 30 or 35 degrees, but it didn't keep me warm at 40 degrees while I was standing for an extended time. Suggest to wear some layering underneath at that temp.

Replaced my old one this year and this one is great. The hood is kind of big and helmet shaped and because of that the wind pushes it off my head sometimes, and it looks goofy. My old one didn't have the hood so overall that's still an upgrade for me. One complaintwhy did you remove the interior zip pocket? That was so useful and I used it a lot. More pockets, not less please. So removed one star for the hood shape and the interior zip pocket becoming a victim of corporate greed.

This replaces an older version of same coat. One annoyance is sleeve length is about 3/4 of an inch longer than old one. Old one fit perfectly; I have to fold these sleeves under. Fit is exactly the same otherwise. Quality control problem. Slight change in placement of interior pocket. As usual, you have to be very careful with these coatsthey rip easily on the slightest snag.

This coat is very comfortable and warm, while still being lightweight. Pockets with zips keep contents secure, plus pockets inside give a handy place to keep a hat and gloves. The hood is comfortable and warm. This coat is a very good travel companion.

The best feature of this jacket is the light weight and small amount of space that it takes up. This is great for hiking !! The warmth is good...perhaps not quite as warm as a more "puffy" down jacket.

Weight and warmth are on target. The pockets are too low, and not insulated on both sides. The waist should have a draw string to shut off wind blowing up the coat. The drawstring is on the bottom of the coat, which is on your legs, so it doesn't seal it off.

This jacket is an improved version. My last jacket of this same model did not have hood adjustments. It would have gotten 5 stars if it had a double zipper.

Terrific and very warm despite its light weight. I normally wear Bean large size but this jacket is sized a tad small causing me to reorder in x large, making it a bit too big. Hmmm!

I give this three stars due to sizing. I'm a 2xl and had to return and reorder a 3xl. The coat is warm, l really like the zippers, easy to raise and lower the pockets zipper with one hand no material getting caught in the zipper. I wish to give a strong shoutout for LL Beans customer service, she made me laugh chasing the UPS driver down the street with my return. Lol

It's a nice jacket. No doubt it is light. The fit is spot on, to the point that I have to put it on carefully. As far as warmth, so so. It is very warm if you re moving around. Good for skiing, for example. It's considerably less warm if you are, for example, standing out in cold temps waiting for your kids' bus to arrive.

My husband lives it but I didn't realize it didn't have a hood but my mistake. He loves everything else about it.
