I got these to replace wearing sneaker's in the winter. Walking the dog is great they keep your feet warm. The fit is good , its a great all a round shoe for the winter. I hope to get years of wear from them.

Fit well and was waterproof. A bit stiff but it will loosen up with time. I bought a low cut shoe similar to this boot, and after a couple of months they became more flexible.

Well-made shoes. Unfortunately, the toes were a little bit too narrow and the sole too hard. The breathability was not sufficient for me either. I am sure there are people out there who would find these shoes perfect for them.

Upon opening the box the smell of plastic/rubber or some polymer was overwhelming. I hoped the Oder would dissipate soon The fit is comfortable with the soles a little stiff but within reason for a hiker After a few weeks of wear I can say they are comfortable, BUT the odor remains though not as strong Definitely a value and a good hiker if you can live with the odor. Since I wear them outside it doesn't bother me much.

9 1/2 EE usual width fit for me. But a bit tight in fore foot even with light socks, even after enough wears to break in. A nice looking shoe, and I got it for the waterproofness. Duh !, did you know if you step in a lush Irish grass land puddle that comes up to the heel top you still get a wet foot ?

Nicely made and a really good fit. Look great, too. That said, I thought I would have to send the shoes back because of an initial problem: there is a transition between the leather and the man-made fabric that forms an uncomfortable point pushing right into the inner ankle bone. Yes, there is a lining, but it is not sufficiently padded. However, as I break them in, this is less and less of a concern. I bought them for a forthcoming trip, where a sturdy and waterproof shoe is required (Antarctica). If they don't measure up, I'll let you know!

Very comfortable shoes needed a short break in but once completed shoes were great.

This is my 2nd purchase of these waterproof hiking shoes and they have proved serviceable. I have been buying waterproof/hiking-walking shoes from L.L. Bean for the past decade and what has been on offer have become progressively less stylish, klunky, and heavy. Wish L.L. Bean would carry more stylish, lighter waterproof hiking/walking shoes.

Only had the shoes for a few weeks now and I'm overall pleased with the quality and fit, a bit stiff around the ankles, but I'm assuming this will get better over time. Haven't had an opportunity to verify the waterproofing so far.

Fit was excellent but I always buy hiking boots/shoe one half size large. Shoes are more water resistant than waterproof as my socks were fairly damp after an hour walking through rain dampened 6" high grass looking for migrating warblers in a local park.

Well made. A bit stiff in flex snd the footbed is firm. This is not some super comfy athletic shoe that was repackaged as a "hiker". Rather, it appears expressly designed for hiking and in some fairly rough terrain. First glance says they should hold up.

Got an 11 wide originally - my normal size. It was much too tight so I returned that pair and got an 11 1/2 wide. The new pair fits well. The shoe is reasonably light, seems waterproof, and is comfortable. We'll see how they hold up over time... No reservations so far but my suggestion is to go 1/2 a size up and perhaps wider than you normally buy...

I recently purchased these hiking shoes and I find that there are 2 'hot spots' or points on the inside of each ankle bone that hurt due to unwanted pressure at these 2 points or hot spots. Other than the discomfort or pain situated on the inside point of my ankle, these shoes are comfortable. Will the pain or hot spots disappear as I wear and break-in the shoes?? --- hw

I had the same shoe from several years ago, but size 9. Initially it was a good shoe for my purpose (golf), but I decided it was too short, so I recently got the longer size, 9.5. Right now the length seems fine, but the shoes are still a little too stiff, causing forefoot pain, which I hope will change in time. Bottom line: shoe is well made, but whether it will work out for me remains to be seen. Bean asks for reviews right after purchase, which really is too soon to see if a product like shoes (and many other products) work out in the long haul. Keep that in mind when considering my review.

Nice looking and generally comfortable. The shoes required a bit of a break-in period around the heel.

I use these shoes for walking and working. They sometimes feel a little heavy but I feel they are built to last. A little trouble with breaking in on the right shoe lacing. A little imperfection not present on the other shoe. Very comfortable now and are worn all day long.

The shoes are a bit narrow, but not horrible. My biggest complaint is that there is a badly placed seam that rubs against my ankle, causing a blister. But the shoes themselves are well made, very waterproof and seem extremely durable.

I really like these shoes, want to love them! That said they are about a half size small. Every shoe I own is a size 10D so that is what I purchased. They are tight in the toes and that is with a mid weight sock. Next time I would get a 10.5D

After trying three pairs of shoes Ant increasing cost all supposedly waterproof and then getting a lecture from the store manager that "all waterproof shoes will let water in after they get saturated and my expectations were too high" I found these. They were only $89 but actually keep my feet dry as expected.

This shoe was comfortable right out of the box. The size seems true (I wear a 10 and it fits like a 10).I gave the shoe a 4 star rating only because I haven't had the shoe but a couple of weeks and have worn them 2/3 times. But, so far I like the shoes very much and if it holds up well I would probably rate the shoes a 5.

I work at a golf course and wear the shoes 3-4 times per week and wash a lot of equipment, so I need shoes that are really waterproof. This is the second pair that I have bought because the first pair held up so well. Fit is good and shoes are well made.
