I love the shoes, however as many other reviews stated these are sized too narrow. I normally wear 8.5 D reading the reviews I thought I should get a 9, thinking that the larger size would fit better. It is still too narrow. I've been wearing them around inside hoping they would stretch and although they are better I am still not sure they will work for me. I know Bean is very good to take returns and maybe I could try the wider size but I just don't want to do that if there is any way I can make these work. Bottom line suggest other customers should order the wider size.

The shoe is a rugged construction, and I expect will be very durable in the long run. I have only 15 miles on the shoes at this time and the fit is beginning to break in. I am mostly urban hiking at this time.

A great shoe. Very stylish. The width (wide) was not wide enough for
my feet which measure size 14 4E.

I liked the look of this shoe and really wanted to keep it, but I had an issue with sizing. I am size 10.5 with every shoe I have ever tried on. But this 10.5 was too small. I ordered an 11 and it was still incredibly tight in the width. But after spending money on 2 returns, I didn't want to chance getting a 3rd bad size shoe, I gave up. I hope they fix the sizing or come out with a new chart for this one as I really would like to own one eventually. I hope you have better luck, it is a nice shoe.

Over the years I've owned the water proof low cut hikers. They wear well, have a stylish, but yet rugged look and are comfortable walking the dog on rainy or snowy days or doing yard work.

Look to be high quality build, but way to narrow for my wide feet, even though I bought a size larger and in wide width. I bought so I'd have a waterproof shoe for White mountain trails to replace my New Balance wides of same size, but which fit much better. Guess I'll keep looking and wear my running shoes while doing so.

I normally wear a 9 1/2 Regular. Started with a 9 1/2EE because of the reported narrowness issues. Went to a 10EE because the shoes were too small. Then went to 10 1/2EE because they were still too small. Shoes finally fit well and are extremely comfortable. Customer service at stores and on phone was very helpful!

Durable, comfortable outdoor hiker. Upsize, esp if wearing heavy socks. I ordered the WIDE and still went up a size. Now a very comfortable shoe.

First off, I now do not have the waterproof version. Evidently there are two versions, a waterproof one and a non waterproof one. I normally take a size 8. I originally ended up with the size 8 waterproof version but found this was much too tight and exchanged it for an 81/2 non waterproof version. This second upgrade fit much better. I also changed the insole for softer one. After this adventure I can now say I am very happy with this shoe. I would have given this a 5 star but adjusted for my adventure in getting this right. Its both stylish, durable and comfortable.

Not much support. Removed LL Bean factory inserts and ordered inserts from another company for additional cushioning.

These are solid shoes and I definitely recommend them unless you need a wide toe box. My one complaint regards my need for wide shoes. common in my experience with nearly all shoes that are considered wide or EE. The to box is always too small. So all you shoe makers, there're lots of guys like me without need a wide toe box on the great shoes you make.

This is my third pair, second pair were tight, this pair is fine. All the same size! The tongues could be wider; can't call the shoes waterproof if the tongue doesn't cover the instep.

These shoes work well for general walking and hiking and appear to be waterproof as advertised but I have only worn them in light rain so far. My only criticism is that they are a little heavier than similar footwear I have purchased from LL Bean in the past.

This is the second pair of these shoes that I've ordered and worn. They replace the previous pair which had finally worn out. They are size 9.5 medium, the same as the previous pair. They are very comfortable and have great traction in slippery places. The width is good but the length is a bit short. I should have ordered a half size larger because they are a bit tight, but not too tight. I double tie the shoe strings but that is more difficult with this pair because the strings are too short to easily double tie. I would recommend this product to a friend. I live in Ft. Bragg, CA.

All of my shoes are "D" width, but these are too narrow to be "D".
I would exchange them for "EE" but those are out of stock, so I'm returning them.
