I can't tell you how many decent looking shoes I have tried to buy for my husband, who insisted on only wearing sneakers. Finally...a pair he loves and wears everyday!!! Great look, fit, and comfort. Thanks for ending a long search!

I usually take a men's 8. These were 7.5 and much too large. I am sorry they didn't fit - this is a great shoe.

My last pair lasted 6 years before the tread was worn down. Never leaked and comfortable. The new hikers seem a little wider then the last pair and that is a plus (really wide foot). Wore the new pair 3 times in the snow and no problems at all. Glad that I bought another pair!

Seattle has a rain reputation that it deserves :-) . I was looking for a shoe to wear daily. It needed to be suitable for a casual work environment and about town. These were perfect. They keep my feet dry and are breathable.

These boot's are comfortable, waterproof, and GREAT fit right out of the box. Would not go anywhere else for foot wear.

Purchased these as a replacement for snow sneakers that I returned due to sizing. Wore these hikers during the recent cold spell and found they are well made and keep the elements off of my feet. The sole is very grippy which I like.
The laces are somewhat difficult to get tightened just right and that's why only 4 stars (would make it 4-1/2 stars if I could).

They are a little heavier and stiffer than I had hope. They are extremely well made.

Had a previous pair that were extremely comfortable. After many years of continued use, they just wore out, so I bought another pair. These are very comfortable again, but when I first put them on seem a little tight. However, after wearing them they seem to adjust to my feet.

These are nice hiking shoes and very comfortable. I replaced the inside liner with a better one from Super Feet. I do have one complaint and that is that the laces come untied rather quickly. Even double knotted they become loose. I would recommend these shoes but just know that you will need to buy a better pair of shoe laces that keep the fit nice and snug.

I was looking to replace some old shoes with something new, more water resistant and more form fitting. This shoe proved to be ideal for my purposes as we live in an area with high humidity (lots of dew in the early mornings), so the water resistant feature keeps my feet dry. Plus, I got it on sale which really made it a good deal.

This is a fine hiking sneaker. Waterproof is a good feature, but for my use it is a little heavy for daily walking. I should have known it would not fit my need. I did return them unworn and as usual LLBean is great for easy returns. I bought another LLBean comfort sneaker which serves my purpose. I would recommend this hiker for those needing a hiking shoe.

Bigger than I thought they might be and the color is a little off.
Nice but feel "clunky".

I like these shoes a lot, I even bought a second pair, but I wouldn't call them "hikers." They feel much more like work boots on my feet, clunky even, but provide a lot of protection from bumping into things and stubbed toes, etc. The soles are very thick, especially the heels which seem almost 3/4" thick. They are quite protective, but don't give you much "feel" of the terrain, which I prefer in a real hiking shoe.

Very light. Not as much support as my older Beans trail shoe.

I have been buying this shoe for the last 10 years - The most recent pair I purchased (in Dec 23) has fabric fraying out on the tongue and under the leather seams all over the show. Overall, the shoe is still of the same comfort it has always been and the sole still is quite durable but the materials on top have most certainly dropped in quality. Currently I would rank this show in the $60 to $70 range for the current quality.

Catalog width description is misleading. Returned first pair and exchanged for wider.

Good protection from heavy rain. Heavier than expected. Only problem is the cut of the shoe: the rise is high and tends to hit uncomfortably under the ankle bone. Otherwise, very good shoe consistent with Bean's description.

the laces are too slippery; won't stay tied. Nice shoes otherwise.

These start out a little stiff, but do break in well a little at a time. Do wish that was included in the product presentation, rather than having to learn on the fly. It might just change someone's experience of the shoe.
