This is my second pair of these hikers. I needed something more supportive of my ankles on long hikes and these shoes proved outstanding. They are heavier than what I had been wearing, but they truly support my ankles, arches, and feet.

Excellent shoe for casual hiking. It was comfortable from the first wearing. Very good traction, and definitely waterproof.

Gave these shoes to my husband to replace similar shoes. He loves them...They are his "go to" shoes for comfort and being on his feet.

As usual LL Bean delivers with a quality product. They look great, fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable.

These waterproof hiking shoes fit so well and feel so cushioned that I am in love with them. I live in NYC and I can walk for miles and my feet feel great. Furthermore, since they are waterproof I do not need to worry about NYC's puddles in the streets or on the sidewalks.

Not using this for hiking...use it as a work shoe. Fit is great and it is comfortable for my work. I can't assess hiking aspect.

Shoe is very comfortable, well supported, good traction, and waterproof (for me, important!) Very pleased.

I normally wear 13 wide (EE) and have ordered that size from LL Bean in the past so I ordered this shoe in the same size. When I tried them on for the first time it was obvious that they were at least a half size too small and too narrow. I reordered in a 14 EE and they fit perfectly. No break in needed. I wear them just about every day to take my dogs out for a 3 mile quick march. They are comfortable, provide a good foundation and are light weight. Everything I could want in a shoe.

I ordered these for my husband. He loves them. He said they are very comfortable and likes the way they look. Would definitely recommend them.

I really wanted to keep them but they were easily a half size too small. They don't offer them in 12.5 and 13 would have been too big so I had to return them. I did hover think they looked great and were very comfy aside from being too short for me. I bought a pair of Ariats and they fit perfectly. My Merrills fit just right as well.

I love these day hikers. I just got another pair last week. They are about my 10th pair. I've been wearing them for years. I love them because of their comfort and support. They look good and last a long time. I usually have two pair wearing one for a week and then another. I find them to be my shoe of choice at home because they provide support all around your foot unlike a sneaker. I wear these all the time at home and used them hiking throughout the northeast. I really appreciate they are waterproof for working in the garden or during the winter. I can wear them for an entire day and my feet feel great an night. Definitely order a half size larger than you usually buy.

a great shoe/boot for outdoor activites and casual wear. I ordered the same size I wear in a tennis shoe, and the fit was great.

I have had these boots a few weeks. After a short break in period, they are comfortable, light weight, and true to size. I have walked in wet grass, and my feet stayed dry. I wear them to walk my dog in the woods, and for yard work. They are very nice boots.

Very happy I bought these hiking shoes. Exactly what I was looking for too. For me, the size was perfect. I purchased an 8/12 wide shoe and this is the same size as my running shoes. They fit me perfectly. So far the quality is outstanding and see no reason why this will change. I was looking for a hiking shoe with sturdy soles and that would hold up to day hiking in N. Georgia, these hiking shoes are serving very well for that purpose. I would buy these again.

The usual good product. This is the (fifth, sixth?) pair of these shoes I have bought. One little thing -- when received, the laces were threaded so one side was much longer than the other. It took about a minute to correct.

These shoes are comfortable, they fit great and I like that they are waterproof.

Great hiking shoe for the money.

I needed a pair of low-cut, waterproof shoes for walking in light rain on puddled paths and roads. These proved their worth in every respect the first time out. Fit was perfect and completely comfortable out of the box. Excellent traction on smooth surfaces.

I love this hiking shoe! Very comfortable and sturdy. I live out in the country on a small farm and agriculture operation and this has transformed into my everyday outdoor shoe. Comfortable enough to wear all the time and waterproof for those damp days.

I bought these for my husband who was looking for a nice pair of waterproof hiking shoes that he could also wear when we travel. These fill the bill. His normal size fits perfectly and he finds them very comfortable. Highly recommend!

I purchased these as a "wear around town when it's wet and/or snowy" shoe. They're so comfortable I've come to wear them on good weather days too. They're light, but solid; comfortable, but made well.

my 6' 200lb 78 year old frame likes these boots..were good out of box with little break in time..I have flat feet and they are tender if walking without shoes indoors..they are bulky and have good mass to them..I walk on local sidewalks with ease but if I were to do real hiking in rough terrain these shoes/boots would work fine and the color is great and they look great

Just received the men's trail model 4 and I'm impressed, the fit is perfect, they look great and are comfortable right out of the box. I'll come back in a month or so to provide a update but over all it appears to be a quality hiking shoe.
