I've worn these shoes for three weeks now. They may be the best hiking shoes I've owned! I am seriously considering purchasing another pair because such comfort is hard to find.

Great all around trail shoe

Out if the box, the shoes felt a bit stiff. However after a week they were nicely broken in. The waterproof feature saved me over a wet, sloppy and snowy February. My.feet stayed dry on every wet hike. Im still looking forward to more wet hikes as spring begins to thaw and I can get back on the woodland trails. Very happy with these shoes

These shoes are quite awesome. Very comfortable, and the fact they're available in a wide size reminds me of why I love all things LL Bean. I got them for chores and light trail walking, but find myself wearing them all the time. Oh, and they're pretty waterproof - but downside on that is they don't breathe that much, yet then there's the positive effect that they keep feet rather warm. Bottom line, just get them - you won't be sorry.

It is an excellent shoe.I have a foot problem from an old injury and this type shoe is too stiff for it.I should have known better.Not the shoes fault.

I work at Parx Racetrack walking horses everyday. I've tried numerous other hiking shoes, but none worked as well as these. A great product, and waterproof!

I've had the boot version of this shoe for a while now. It's my favorite boot, comfortable and great for bad weather. So I decided to try out the hiking shoe. Same quality, comfort and I like the style. I'll definitely be wearing these shoes when there's no need to wear the boot version.

I wear this shoe in all types of weather when walking my Yellow Labrador "Gracie". When the rains come, on goes my rain gear along with these shoes. They are waterproof. In fact, the pair that I just ordered is my back up pair. I also have a pair of hiking boots. So I am sold on this product. By the way, I I recommend medium weight socks. Now on another subject. Never are there reviews from the LLBean community mentioning orthotics. I'm sure there are people out there who would like recommendations on products that are orthotics compatible. I have never seen any mention about orthotics on any footwear sold by LLBean. Shoe laces are another problem. The laces on this shoe loosen up even when double tying. What a pain when walking in wind and rain and having to stop, end down, tie your shoe an d then do it again a mile or so down the road. I wonder if manufactures test their laces.

These are the most durable shoes I have ever worn. I have a history of wearing through my shoes in one year, and I'm on my third year with these. They are now beginning to wear out, as you can see in the picture, but I will probably still get another year out of them before I get a new pair, and that is because the inside is ripping out. The exterior is still solid! Also, these are super comfortable. They have great grip, look nice, and are waterproof. The only gripe I have with them is that their laces rip out. I'm on my 4th pair of laces at the writing of this review. That's not a big deal though. Also, L.L.Bean discontinued the black color, which is my favorite. I just purchased my second. I received a pair of these hiking shoes for Christmas. I was so impressed with the fit, comfort, and traction on snow that I purchased a second pair. I have not yet check the the waterproof claim. If these are actually waterproof they will be perfect. If you are looking for comfortable, functional footwear give these a try.

This is a typical first class product from LL Bean. Would not expect anything different. Great snug fit.

I purchased these shoes for my husband. They were an immediate hit with him. He said they were comfortable and he could wear all day (often logging 18,000 steps a day). I purchased a second pair for his birthday based on recommendation.

Extremely comfortable with support and cushion. Completely waterproof and easy to spend several hours walking and hiking in below freezing temperatures with little or no loss of warmth. I will have no hesitation buying future footware from Bean.

Just bought a pair of Model 4 waterproof hiking shoes. I love them. I used to have a pair of the ventilated Model 4 hiking shoes and so I knew what to expect with these. Mine are Dark Loden. Great color. Dark green, basically.

I bought these shoes for my son as a gift. So well made and very attractive. My son loved them and has worn them every day.

I need a wide shoe and these were instantly comfortable.

I have a 13ww foot. Buying shoes is never easy for me. I decided to try these because my hubby has them and loves them. I ordered the mens 12 wide. I love these shoes and tell my husband everyday! They are really comfortable and I love that they can get wet and your feet don't! I have had many surgeries so I'm super picky about shoes.
