very comfortable shoe, sizing and width is correct. The sole has a good feel of stability on rough surfaces. I've always worn boots for hiking but this hiking shoe works better for me. I'll buy them again.

They are sturdy yet lightweight with a truly rugged feel. Good walking shoe for the moors and trails out on Nantucket! I love 'em!!

I purchased a pair of L.L.Bean waterproof shoes 25 years ago, and would still be wearing them except
they became too small. I look forward to wearing the Men's Trail Model 4 Waterproof Hiking Shoes for
many years to come. The quality is outstanding.

This is the second pair I have owned so that should tell you how much I love them. Still have the first pair that I wear when working in the yard but my wife made me order second pair to keep clean!! Happy qife, happy life! Dont tell her how much I love the shoes.

I have worn these everywhere almost daily for 2 1/2 years including day hikes in Michigan's UP over rocks and roots. They have held together very well and only blemishes are from constant use as you would expect. Lining is getting a bit worn at heel but that is my fault for jamming my feet into when in a hurry. Only fault is original laces wore out fairly quickly, so buy a couple extras to keep around.

Haven't had them very long, but quite pleased so far. I'm hoping they break in to be an everyday kind of shoe. They might be a bit heavy for an every day summer shoe, unless you're on the trail and then you'll want the sturdy construction.

This was my upgrade from tennis/gym shoes. Well overdue. Excellent choice. The weight, slightly more than the previous shoes, took some getting used to. The size (length) was a full size larger, but LLB's exchange process was seamless. Breaking in resulted in blisters on both Achilles tendons, easily managed with Bandaids. Walked for one hour in a thunderstorm wearing my LLB rain jacket and my new waterproof shoes. Wish I had purchased these a long time ago.

My first time buying an L.L.Bean shoe, I usually buy Reebok. These are very comfortable. I have a wide foot, and most brand's "wide" is usually not very wide (which is why I normally buy Reebok, their wide is wide, and arch support is great.) Well, now I can add L.L.Bean to the wide list. The wide width actually fits a wide foot well. I haven't had the opportunity yet to test the waterproof capability. The real question is durability. I expect my shoes to last at least a couple years. We'll have to see.
For those who may be wondering about arch support, I also have a high arch. The arch support in this L.L.Bean shoe is adequate but not great. Interestingly , the fit drop downs when writing a review had all the appropriate answers pre-selected: size and width are true , and the arch suppot can best be described as moderate.

I have a bone issue in my right foot. It is in higher position than it is supposed to be and with each step I take it is jammed back into the tendons, nerves, and who knows what else. As good as these shoes seemedand I think the soles might have survived more than 4 or 5 months . . . a miracleI had to return them. It wasn't what I wanted to do.

I'm very pleased with the shoes, put them on and you're ready for the outdoors. No need to spend time "breaking" them in, they are very workable and meet the demands of the working man. I've had several pairs over the years and they are one tough product.
