Very pleased with the excellent fit, appearance, and quality construction. This shoe is made in Vietnam. I expect the shoe to have great durability.

Honestly, I had not bought from LLB in a while, but when I decided to look for a GOOD pair of everyday work, walking and hiking shoes I saw these and decided to go with them based on level of quality and service from LL Bean in the past. Turns out, it was exactly the right decision! Great arch support that I needed and perfect fit. Comfortable all day and warm and dry for the rainy and sometimes cold Tennessee winter. Soles have just the right amount of flex.....not too stiff, but not too flimsy either. All that and they look good, too!

This is the second Bean waterproof hiking shoe I've purchased. This first is still going strong after a year of use. This time I choose 13 EE which fit better on me than the 13 M. Also I replaced the inserts with Smart Feet inserts for better support. The waterproofing works well in the rainy northwest weather.

Love my new hiking shoes. These shoes are very comfortable, and I appreciate that they give me excellent gripping power during this Maine winter. Just right for walking in plowed driveways and parking lots. Can't wait to wear them after mud season (MARCH!) to hike in!

I live in northeastern Pennsylvania and it's starting to get sloppy. I walk 3 to 6 miles a day. Needed something waterproof warm and comfortable. These shoes you are absolutely fantastic. They fit perfectly, they are warm, I absolutely love them. I wear them to work as dress shoes

First pair from 2017 lasted about 1200 miles walking to and from work. That pair was size 9 1/2. Ordered the same size in the new design and they were too small. Size 10 fits perfectly. Love the shoes. Great to walk in and very comfortable.

I have held off on a review of these for almost a year as I wanted to see how they held up.
Previously, I have regularly worn a similar shoe by a company that begins with 'M'. I have had at least 3 pairs of the same shoe by this other company and it seems that each new version was a little less quality than the one before. When I went to replace my last pair, of the exact same model and size, something was wrong with each shoe and they did not feel right. Not wanting to drop almost $140 on a pair of uncomfortable shoes, I went on search for something else, and ultimately found these.
I have had these through an Upstate NY winter, multiple construction sites, light local hikes, and casual wearing around town. However, it was the week I spent in these while hiking throughout Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park, that convinced me that there is no reason to spend significantly more on another brand. These provided stable and secure grip on trails that went from packed dirt to sand to rocky to solid rock. I never once lost footing, even in some shallow stream crossings. And best of all, at the end of the day, my feet were not sore.
My only complaint is that the laces seem to be of a lower quality. The tape and the ends has started to open, and they are not that grippy so if I don't tie them tight at the beginning, they will loosen or untie. But as laces are replaceable and will ultimately break, this is not too big of a deal.

I've had these for approximately two years and they are showing no wear! I wear them year'round. Have washed them in the washing machine and they come out great. The soles are unbelievable. Wish I could find an insulated boot that fits and performs as well as these do!

I recently acquired my first pair of LL Bean shoes, and I'm very impressed. The Men's Trail Model 4 Waterproof Hiking Shoes are built like a solid tank and fit like a glove. They are more firm and substantial than a regular pair of waterproof tennis shoes and offer better protection with no break-in period. They have excellent traction with an outer sole that looks and feels almost immortal. Although these shoes are not insulated, the TEK 2.5 membrane kept my feet warm and dry while wearing just a pair of lightweight cotton socks. The waterproofing is outstanding and beats my expectations. They are also comfy and remarkable. I believe LL Bean hiking shoes are intentionally designed to withstand a mixture of outdoor environments that might demolish both inferior and more expensive brands. These shoes are ideal for long hikes in a forest or on city sidewalks when you need steady, watertight, and breathable footwear that won't disappoint no matter how many miles you cover.

The color and size were perfect as to what I ordered from the picture shone.
Shoe fit great and the width was very good and this is not often with other shoes of this type.
Sole is much better than expected, better grip on wet surface.

I bought my first pair of LL Bean hiking shoes 30 years ago. They finally wore out. Tried on many other brands but came back to LL Bean Men's Hikers. First day of wear, all day in the field, and came home and told my wife I love my new shoes.

I love these shoes! Fit me perfectly, high quality, and very comfortable. Break-in time was, for me, three days of casual wear with no discomfort during the process. These will be the only walking shoes I'll purchase in the future.

I purchased the shoes for a recent fishing trip to Alaska. Since getting on and off float planes at docks would be frequent, I wanted a comfortable shoe that is waterproof. Trail Model 4 Waterproof Hiking Shoes worked as expected. The fit was good and they are dry. Keep in mind they are not pavement or sidewalk everyday walking sneakers. There's not enough cushion for that type of use. However for challenging walking and hiking conditions they are what I expected.

Recently purchased this show for hiking in Montana. Very comfortable and provides good stability for uneven surfaces. Soles provide excellent traction for rock and trails. Very good value.

Hike 17 miles a week with these sneakers, yes I am that old that do not call a sneaker a shoe. Normally I use the LLBean premier hiking boots, however, as the result of recent sciatic surgery and the MD's directions not to do stairs or hills I thought I would try these sneakers during recovery. On a scale of 1-5, 5 being excellent, these are, for me, a 5.

This is my second pair of these shoes. I walk/hike a lot, as much as 50 miles a week. These shoes are comfortable, give plenty of support, and fit well. I also wear them when stream fishing and the fact that they are waterproof is a bonus.

Was a New Balance boot user until the middle 80's when production went overseas and the quality went south.
The Bean boot looks and feels like the New Balance of my youth.
