For a "wide" shoe, it's pretty tight. I've been wearing them for about two weeks now and they're starting to break in.

What I like about this particular shoe is the fit. Feels like I can adjust the snug-ness (somewhat) by varying the thickness of my sock choices.
Regrettably, the footbed isn't as "springy" as my previous Brooks shoes (Caldera 4). I presume this is because the Cascade 16s are trail-rated shoes, (the Caldera were road/track running shoes.) I also liked the mixed color scheme on this shoe.

Great shoe; however, since I need a wide width I purchased an "E" width. Still a bit snug but I can deal with that. The big problem is that the shoe laces are too short! Have a hard time getting them tied if at all. Shoe laces were probably designed for narrow and/or medium shoes. Is there any way I can get shoelaces compatible for the wide width shoe? If not, who do you recommend I contact to purchase this idem.

the shoes are fine but the tongue is a wee bit too short. It needs to be about .5 inches longer.

Overall I like this iteration of the Cascadia's, especially the lug pattern and sole material as it is very grippy. I did feel that there was a little too much room in the forefoot which resulted in the shoe material on the top of my foot being "poochy".

The toe box feels too big. My Adrenaline GTS 22's are the same size and fit perfect. If I had bought them in store I probably would have gone a size smaller. But still overall a great shoe I really enjoy wearing.

Good shoe for my foot especially compared to Altras which make my feet/calves scream. Shortly after changing to these shoes my Achilles tendonitis cleared up which I attribute to the good fit. Only complaint is that the vent holes near the toe area tore out after about 6 months of trail use. Still plenty of trail life left on the tread and the insides look good. Primary use was hiking/backpacking, not running.

I owned the Cascadia 14 and was very happy with those. I also like the Cascadia 14, but I find the toe box to be a little too wide for me. But, I also think these feel a bit more durable. I've put about 20 miles on them so far for trail running and I've used them for disc golf. Overall, I am quite happy.

Exceptional comfort and flexibility while still providing good grip on and protection against rocks and roots under foot. I wish it provided more protection at the tips and sides of toes

Pretty nice shoe. The one downside is that the side fabric folds and rubs at the joint of the big toes. This makes them pretty uncomfortable on long runs but otherwise would be great.

I had issues with rubbing on inner right foot on both pairs starting around mile 5. I did not have that issue on previous versions. I removed the gusset there, and the trouble was solved.

Starting with the Cascadia 12, I have used the Cascadia shoe for hiking, camping, and trail access to my favorite fishing holes in Colorado. They're light, fit my arch and heel well, and their grippy soles are great. Each 'updated' model since the 12 has made some changes that sometimes work, sometimes don't, and the 16 is no different. Pros: 1) The 16 has a shallow arch fit, which supports my narrow foot very well; 2) the padded tongue is pure comfort - no more lace bite when I tighten up; 3) the slight flare on the sole from the middle of the shoe is more stable for me than previous models. 4) the cushion is very good, firm without being hard. Cons: 1) Asothers have mentioned, the toe box is bigger, counter to the way the shallowness of the arch fit. My forefoot seems to 'float' without side support - great on flats, not so much on hills and slopes. This is the reason I gave the shoe a 4 instead of a 5 - it is seemingly designed for person with a wide forefoot and shallow/ narrow arch and heel - not too many people are built that way. 2) With the way that the tongue is attached to the instep, one needs to be aware that it is a tight fit, and harder to put on without almost unlacing the shoe. For me, the pluses outweighed the minuses.

Feels good and sturdy. Look pretty good, but not a fan of the laces pattern. I'll be replacing with plain black.

They seem extra wide. I wear a 2E in Gylcerin but the toe box in the Cascadia 2E make me think a D regular width would have been better.
The extra toe protection has been invaluable. The stiff sole really protects my fit and the cushioning is just right.

This was the second pair as the first pair was a size I have work for almost 60 years! They were horribly small. The full size larger feels more like what the full size smaller should have been. Haven’t had long enough to wear them to have an opinion. Looks like everyone want a review 30 minutes after delivery on satisfaction? Don’t really understand how you can give a good review of something you haven’t had a chance to wear? Must be something they teach in college today! Review something before you get it and tell everyone how wonderful you think it will be once it’s delivered and you can try it! Doesn’t make sense to me!
