I have been wearing Cascadia's since version 12. I received the 16's a couple of weeks ago and have logged some serious miles (both hiking and trail running). So far I am very pleased. The toe box has been enlarged to make more room for the big toe and not push it medially like in most running shoes. I hope they don't change this design in future models. Compared to the 15th version, the cushion is softer and the shoe feels lighter (I know it is only .2 oz less). I got these in yellow and I think they look pretty sweet. I plan on getting a pair in the GTX version also.

Awesome grip both on technical and non technical trails; great cushioning to transcend to road and back to trail; excellent rock plate to protect your foot

I wear size 12 because of special inserts (need to go up 1/2 size). I bought these for trail running, but since they are lighter than my old Cascadia 14 and 15 (and i have metatarsalgia), I have worn the new 16s while running 2-3 miles on sidewalks.

Last time I had the Cascadia's were the 5s. I loved those shoes but never liked the next versions. I tried the Cascadia 16s on after going though the speedgoats, all the altras, Salomon ultra glide, and new balance hierro's. As soon as I put on the Cascadia 16s in 10.5 I knew it was the shoe. Running feels great and a little stiff at first but so far good breaking in starting after the first 7 miles. The only other shoes that fit my feet well were the Salomon speed cross in size 11. Will probably buy another pair of the Cascadia's as they feel that great! Great works Brooks! I really hope y'all keep this foot shape and sizing going forward. I would love to know what road shoes have the same foot shape as the Cascadia 16s.

Great shoe! Fits true to size and feels like I'm walking on a cloud through a day of teaching at a trade school. Highly recommended!

Early in the training cycle for an upcoming trail race, I thought that I should try a shoe other than Cascadia after running in the 14s for previous trail runs. I purchased a shoe from another line and almost literally kicked myself. By the end of my first run, I had a blister. By the end of the week, I was losing a toenail. I returned those and got a pair of Cascadia16. They have been perfect and I?m mad at myself for ever trying anything else. Even better than past versions. They have provided excellent traction, stability and protection across a wide range of surfaces. Just last weekend I was running and somehow managed to get my toe caught between two rocks while running. I nearly fell forward and was a little sore from the tug on my ankle, but toes were well protected inside the Cascadia. I can?t image anything else feeling this comfortable and protective in such a light and nimble package. I pity the person that has to design the next generation of these. I don?t see how you can improve on the current version.

This shoe was hands down the best shoe I have used hiking. Just completed 50+ miles in Grand Canyon and surrounding areas. Never once had a negative thought about this shoe selection. This shoe felt great on my limited runs before the hike. I plan to use them for my trail runs and feel certain they will live up to my expectations. They are comfortable, provide protection from rocks, and generate comments from others if you are into that.

I love the new cascadias and think its the most versatile version yet. I have been looking for a new set of trail shoes since the La sportive Akashas were discontinued. The new cascadias have added cushion over the previous iteration (my concern with the forefoot of cascadia 15) that really improves the versatility of the shoe. The ride is supportive and protected but not overly cushy. This really helps for stability in rocky sections in my opinion. The toe box is wide and tongue padded. The upper has broken in nicely after 20 miles.

I?ve been using cascadias as my main trail running shoe for 7 years. I feel like the recent models were lacking some of the original DNA that made cascadias so great, so I started looking around and trying other brands and couldn?t find anything that I liked quite as much. This latest model is better than anything I?ve tried, better even than the OG cascadias. It?s super grippy and nimble and somehow also more padded than the previous versions. I?m so glad they brought back a reasonable color option as well in the new yellow. Will be buying multiple pairs of these.

The improvements made to the shoe make it my go to comfort trail shoe. Excellent fit and functionality for serious trail use. Buy a pair of Catamounts too!!!

I wear tested these on a good mix of roads, dirt and gravel and it is my favorite cascadias yet. Toe box felt roomy, good cushion and they?ve held up longer than the ghosts that I typically run in

These are my first Bruins shoes. I bought the 16 for a trip to the DRC. I haven't run a step in them but I've worn them everyday for three weeks over all kinds of terrain. I very happy with my purchase.

Roomy toe box, great treads, grippy on sandy trails and rock. Only downside is the front of the shoe rubs ever so slightly. Fine for shorter runs 5-8miles but will use my Cacadia 17s for an upcoming ultra!

Love 'em. Thought these trail running shoes would be better, more durable every day wear. So far so good. I love Brooks shoes. My podiatrist recommended them by brand name along with orthotics and they cured my chronic shin splints IMMEDIATELY. Wish there was a simple chart to let me know what the fundamental differences are between the various models. The descriptions I've seen read pretty much the same.

These are light weight and comfortable. I would prefer that the tongue be a bit longer, but overall a great shoe!
