The boots are warm, comfortable and stylish. My only complaint is with the soles. These boots are not for everyday wear in an urban environment. The soles wear down very quickly making the boots impossible to wear. Local cobblers are unable to repair the boots and the two pair of boots that I returned to LL Bean for repair disappeared into a black hole. The durability and construction of these boots is antithetical to LL Bean's support for conservation.

I purchased these due to them being offered in a narrow size. They took a bit time to break in although did eventually. That said, the pull strap on one boot ripped during putting the boot on, the first time I've had this take place in over 50 years of wearing boots. The stitching was so close together, it literally acted as a perforation and ripped right along these holes. The final issue is the boots leak at the toe area, even though I used a leather conditioner, the boots left my feet wet in only a couple inches of fresh snow, very disappointing product.

I have to admit this is based on one wearing, so I may revise it later. The length fit is fine (I wear 10.5, so bought a size 9 as advised) and the waterproofing is good, but the boot was so stiff around the ankle and heel that it wore sores into both my feet after only a short use. Perhaps this is a breaking-in problem, or maybe I need to wear thicker socks; I was using them with just normal athletic socks. I had considered returning these, but decided to give them more time. For the moment, I'd have difficulty recommending them.

Bean boots were great but customer service was poor. We had to change size and was charged $6.50 to ship back the boot. Then, instead of crediting my CC was sent a merchant credit that can only used at ll bean. Finally, when I tried to use the credit online it was not recognized and couldn't be used. Totally frustrating

Great especially when the weather is colder and the ground is wet. Unfortunately, the heel is narrow so your step will be kinda wobbly when walking & working on rocky, uneven terrain.

I was very disappointed with the boots because, unlike previous iterations, they had no "neck." The top of the boot is just bare leather. My old boots have a material cushion around the top of the boot that helps to keep out snow or mud. I sent them back and asked for a refund. I gave them 2 stars because the rest of the boots appear up to the Bean standards.

Got these for my husband's birthday. Sent back because the leather is very stiff. We reordered the 8 inch pebbled leather collared boots as I have a pair myself and the leather is much softer.

What Happened to the Old? Greed n Cutting Cost's is what! The rubber lower is OK, yet the Leather upper they use a rough cut leather, using the best oils n conditioners still not like old. Plus the Leather part is Way Too Big around ankle compared to foot size. Use 7 pair of cut off socks above your ankle and they will fit great! I wore them maybe 10 times, now on my shelf to look at..

Not as rugged as expected. Not as supportive in arch area as needed. Even wearing thick boot socks, the upper feels flimsy. Disappointed with purchase.

I live in NC and never felt I needed Bean Boots here. Then my wife and I decided to spend Christmas 2021 with our daughter and son-in-law in Portland. Figuring on experiencing rough winter weather, I ordered a pair and had them delivered to my daughter's home, a Christmas gift to myself. Turned out to be a wise decision. While the weather was not half as bad as expected, the boots kept my feel warm and dry. Happy to have purchased them, I wore them to the store during our visit and ended up purchasing a pair of Beene slippers for the indoor experience!

I have had these boots for some years; the quality of these earlier boots was far better, not the thinner rubber and leather used now. We could wear the older pair in snow, but the newer version would not cut it.

I bought these in hopes that they would make the Wisconsin weather more bearable, but they ended up not being waterproof. Water seeps in between the leather upper and the rubber bottom at the seams. They are a really nice looking pair of boots (I bought the green ones), but they disappoint when it comes to staying dry inside.

I love these Bean boots...I have wide feet and ordered a 11 Wide..the fit was perfect with heavy socks...I usually wear a 12 wide. The other day the pull on strap broke off from the stitched area on the inside of the left boot.....see pic..not sure what to do..I might have to call and send them back...I'm glad I live in Maine..so if these can be fixed it will not take that long.

1) within a few months heels wore down in the back. Been "living" with the leg discomfort 'till now........ now I'm going to throw the boots out! Barely got a year-and-a-half out of them! 2) rib where leather joins waterproof rubber "hit" right under my ankle bone, requiring me to add an additional insert to raise my foot 3) even though I ordered Narrow B, sides under my bow tie come to within an 1/8" of each other, which doesn't seem right. I always wear thick socks with these boots 4) they served their purpose of walking my dog on sandy roads and wet grass and weeds on the shoulders

These are thew best boots ever BUT the opening at the top of the boot is way to small to fit your foot in easily I found I will need a boot 2 sizes larger than I wear to be able to put them on easier I haven't got the boots returned as of yet but will update the next review to let you know as son as I receive them

Look at the photos.First time in 40 years that I have ever had a problem with quality. The pull up strap on the left boot separated while putting on plus frayed and separated stitching on the back right boot. Hope they will make it right!

So most people have read about the sizing issue. I'm a 14 and even the 12 was too big. But thats not why I returned them. LL Bean made a design choice on ALL their boots that I just don't get. Look at all the pictures and you'll see the heel is much narrower than the sole. This creates a VERY unstable platform, and I turned my ankle in my house, on the carpet. I'm a huge fan, HATE to complain, but this whole line needs to be fixed so the boots fit and are comfortable and stable.

Every pair I've owned in the last 40+ years have leaked after a few weeks wear. My father and grandfather always wore these so it's more of a tradition than practicality. Still love them, but not the wet socks and feet!

Ordered my boots a size smaller than my sneaker size like the site says. I wear a 10 in everything so I ordered a 9. It came in and was way too big. Bummed because I sent the 9 back to exchange for an 8 and that size is on backorder, I can't wait that long for boots so I bailed. Really wanted them though, shame.
