Thurs.1/12/12 First storm of the New Year, wore my new boots with 2 pairs of thick socks, feet froze so bad I had to go home at lunch time to change.

Surprisingly initially uncomfortable near upper ankle. Should have opted for the warmer shearling lined for improved warmth. Keeps feet dry as advertised but extremely cold when wet.

I have been a LLBEAN boot wearer for 40 years and for the last few years have had a problem with the thread rotting.My last pair have lasted less than 1year. I will by no more!!

I have always believed that the Bean boot was the standard to beat for a waterproof shoe. So I sent my son on his canoe trip confident that his feet would remain as dry as the proverbial bone. Imagine my chagrin when he told me that the top of the boot was not snug enough to keep his feet from getting soaked every day.

I bought the wide boots in order to get more room in the toes. But the boots turned out to be sloppy wide in the main part of the boot, but narrow in the toes. Buying shoes or boots through mail order, without trying them on, is like buying a pig in a poke.
