I love these boots. They're just what I've been trying to find. I would have rated them 5 stars, except for the width, which is a bit too wide and a tad sloppy.

The quality of the material used is very good however, be careful when you order the size. I read the reviews and noted that it said to order a smaller size than normal. I wear a 9 and couldn't believe an 8 would work so I ordered a 9. I put on 2 pair of socks, one very thick and the right boot was not bad, still a little long but the left was way too big. I needed to do some work and thought I could get by so I wore them. Mistake. The left boot is just too big. In fact both are, but the left is worse than the right. So now I'm trying to decide if they are worth buying another pair in an 8. Probably look for something else.

My Husband love's these, but I had to buy insoles for them as the rubber is cold. He had a pair from many years ago and they finally gave out.

I am a big LL Bean fan. The quality is always there. I ordered the 6" tie boot, as I already have the duck shoe. However, I had knee replacement surgery in September and all healed and successful, but when I got the boot with the 6"tie, I had a hard time getting them on because the tongue did not fold forward - it was sewed to the side of the boot, and I had a heck of a time trying to get them on. If the tongue had been loose, where I could have put it forward, I could have gotten my foot in easier, or when I was younger, but with it sewn up, it was too difficult to get on. Would highly recommend it for a younger person.

As expected. Have had both Gumshoes and their 6" boots. Sizing info is accurate. My only issue is that I have wicked protruding bunions, and the rubber is not very forgiving, though it will conform to your deformity over time. Bottom line, these boots are "Wicked Good"!!! Cheers!!!!!

These boots are sturdy, waterproof and will last for years. they tend to be uncomfortable when new so be sure to wear thick socks. More comfortable with lining, but not worth twice the price. Top of boot should have some comfort leather. Your competition is growing.

We've bought over a dozen pair of Bean boots. I did not get Gortex with these because $50 is WAY TOO much. I do get it for my winter bird watching/walking boots. The laces are flimsy for expensive boots, and I hate it when the heels go long before the uppers. With worn down heels, walking in ice and snow is dangerous. I wish the heels could hold up better. Still, when I need winter boots or boots to garden in wet weather, I always go to LL Bean.

Liked the no hassle returns. First got the 8" and it didn't work out for me. Returned for the 6" and it was fine. Very high quality USA made shoe. Way better than a cheap import. Well worth the extra money. Perhaps it could stand a little more finishing on the inside. Maybe in the transition between the rubber and leather sections. Be sure to follow their sizing recommendations. Over all quite satisfied. I would buy again.

The sole grip while walking in slippery conditions is excellent.
Great customer service also, as demonstrated by the responsiveness to a shipping issue that was really out of their control.
About the only thing I don't like is that they are not particularly warm (and my feet NEVER get cold). Ideally, a version of the 6" boot with insulation would make this perfect.

Was hopeful that these would fit my wide feet (3E) but too tight and the length (Size 7) was as far as I could go. The length of the sizes is very long. I normally wear a 8.5 to 9 size but ended up with a size 7 for normal length. Wish they made a 3-4E width, it would have been the perfect boot for walking the dogs in the fields. If you have a wide foot, hope the fit goes better for you.

The tongue of the right boot is hard on my right ankle bone and causes rubbing and pain. Other shoe is great.

Hunted for years in the 17" shoes and love them. The 6" are perfect for my morning walks with the dogs. Light and comfortable and perfect to repel the morning dew.

Good quality, strong, repel rain, good length, height upward above ankle, hard to find boots this height, for men, but these are good. I like the style, look, classic but cool. Not too hot, ok for summer rains. I bought mine one size higher so I can put liners in so more comfy, as without and added separate liner, it will wear on your feet if you walk a lot like I do, my bottom feet are sensitive when standing too long, now I can even add odor eaters on top of my extra liners. These come true to size I feel. I also sprayed mine with another separate water repel spray for more protection. Suggestion: know your preferred length, 6" vs 8" or more, can make a big difference, I would use mine in city, so this was just right for me, if outdoors or woods I might instead want a longer boot. Also, one problem I have is the ad and cards which come with boots say, read hand made, but my right boot was crooked, bent, I can tell it was made by machine, factory, yes it has a signature card, but the signature of the worker is a stamp. Too bad, but still a good rain wear boot. My other searches came up empty or other boots at similar price but bad reviews. So these are OK.

I wear a 12 wide normally but could not get the 11 or 12 wides to work for me. One too small, one too large.

The gift was well liked but the size was a little big. I would recommend ordering a size down. The boot was back ordered but was shipped in a reasonable amount of time.

I ordered these in December when they were back ordered until April 15. The very good news is that they arrived in February which is fantastic yet leaves me with one small concern. How much attention to detail was given to these shoes in order to get the order filled so quickly? Here is why I ask that...
Upon receipt I found that the heel strap on one of the shoes had not been properly attached. The loop was sewn into place but the strap that continues down the inside of the shoe was not attached and the piece of tape at the end of the strap still had the release film in place. The other shoe seemed okay, the strap was firmly attached and in place under the inner sole. If something so simple and obvious was missed I have to wonder if they forgot to put stitches someplace and the shoes may come apart one day. Probably not likely but I have a small shred of doubt now.
Otherwise I am very happy. They fit fine although I probably could have gone even one size smaller than indicated on the sizing recommendation. The leather was very stiff the first day but is already breaking in nicely and I once again have a comfortable pair of original "duck" shoes!

Ordered the 7" boot in size 9. When they arrived, they were easily size 9 1/2 or 10. It didn't matter as both my son and I are size 9 1/2 but we can use an insole or heavier socks. In any event these boots run large.

These boots are very well made and for the most part very comfortable. However, where the tongue of the boot is "folded" when tied, has caused a blister. I tried them with thick and thin socks-same outcome. Would be nice if the tongue would lay flat when tied. Otherwise, a very well made boot.

We ordered the 6" Bean Boot, wear a 10.5 shoe and ordered a size 9...PERFECT fit. Great online experience, fast shipping, great customer service.
Also clearly a great quality boot, kudos to the staff. Having said that, there is very little sole / support so I feel like I'm walking directly on the ground & my pants are dragging (so I have to tuck them in the boot). Also very difficult to put on, but maybe I should just shut up here & break them in some more.

I mostly wear nike shoe and I know they run small. I wear a 13 so a 12 in other shoes. These shoes said to order a size down so I ordered an 11. When I got them they were too large so I exchanged them for a 10 after I tried on a friends pair that fit great. Hopefully I'll get them sometime next year now that they're on back order until forever.

Usually wear 10 or 9.5 in Nike and I went with a 9. Length feels fine, probably should have picked narrow width instead of the medium selection option. Otherwise, boots have been awesome so far. Comfortable and great in the rain.

Great Boot I would have preferred the 6" slip on...but they were not available. I wear a size 91/2 shoe and bought a size 8' Boot fit is perfect. My only issue with the boot is I have a high arch and the tongue is sewn all the way to the top ...so I have to pull harder than I would like to get them on. I believe they are designed this way for waterproofing....but....my primary use is barn chores

I received my first pair of Bean Boots as a Christmas present and found they were much too large. I re-ordered a size smaller (typically wear 10.5, re-ordered a 9) and they arrived a few months later (note, this delay was expected due to the backorders). I received my new boots a couple weeks ago and have worn them a few times. They'll need some time and exposure to the elements to break in, but thus far, I have no complaints.

The 6" height works for me since I do not face snow in Atlanta area. I just wanted something for keeping feet dry and warm. In dress shoes I wear a 10.5 B. I ordered a 9 narrow and they work fine with medium weight wool socks. I look forward to next winter and spring baseball in February and March.
