Pay attention to size reviews. Does run bigger than other brands. Comfortable to wear. Needs some break in time for the upper leather to be softer around the ankles. Much better than the other brands I've tried in the past.

The craftsmanship and quality of the leather is top-notch. My only issue is that the left boot is visibly shorter in length than the right, this results in my toes touching the boot and creates some discomfort in extended wear. If the left boot was constructed exactly the same as the right, this would not exist and they would be absolutely perfect.

I've wanted a pair of these for years & I was finally able to buy a pair. I love them, and I won't wear them often, so the fact that they don't fit perfect is ok with me. I was scared to buy shoes online, my work boots are size 12, my everyday sneakers are 10.5-11, so I'm all over size wise. I followed the sizing guidelines from the LL bean website & I'll say that they are too small. Too narrow & too short. I wish I'd gone up a half size, but as I say they aren't everyday shoes so I decided to live with them instead of the hassle & wait if shipping them back. As to that, shipping was as expected and on time.

I bought this boot because I needed something waterproof when walking my dogs in the morning and in the rain. It does that job very well and it is a nice, light boot. My biggest problem is the narrow heel on the boot creates stability issues when walking on uneven terrain. I couldn't wear these boots when hiking on the AT; it would be like wearing high heels. Many other reviewers commented that the boots run large. I used the chat function to confirm the size I should order, and I'm glad I did.

We ordered 5 pair in total. Of the 5, 3 had sizing issues as they all seemed to run about 1 size too big, even with great socks. The only part keeping this from a 5 star was a lack of arch support. I have to have this for walking and there is bare minimum in these boots. I just wanted you to be prepared. Simply corrected with buying a Powerstep insert.

Out of the box I could tell these are quality boots that will last me a really long time. They have not disappointed in wet weather. My only concern and word of caution is that on some services they are extremely slippery. I stepped on some wet painted concrete and it was like stepping on ice.

These are great boots! The leather was a little stiff even after conditioner. But I am comparing to my old and broken in and broken down pair.

Nice boots but when ordering remember the length of these boots run a full size too large.

several issues: 1) while the width is good, they are LONG. 2) the leather is very stiff and the tongue is too high and should be gusseted for better on/off. 3) the laces are poor quality I replaced them. These issues are not "deal breakers" but for the price, they could improve these boots.

This is my 2nd pair; too soon to rate this pair . . I had issues w/ 1st pair. The leather tabs that are stitched in the heal, both came apart. This is crucial for me, because it allows me to pull the boot on, over my heal. I took the boots to a local cobbler and had the boots repaired after 1 month; it cost me an additional $30.00. I'm hoping for better luck with my 2nd pair.

The shoe works best for me as a waterproof boot because it is slightly awkward to me. It does not feel as natural to me as a regular shoe or boot it. The teenager who works for me wears a pair of them all the time so it may be a learning experience for me.

The boot appears to be high quality, but the stitching that was used to attach the tongue to the boot extends far too high inside the boot! This product was purchased for my intellectually challenged adult son. The high stitching makes it VERY difficult to easily put the boots on when sliding his foot into the opening, which could not possibly be any narrower. My assumption is, this would be difficult for a typical individual as well. The complete stitching does not allow the boot to be opened up substantially in order to put them on easily, providing frustrations for him nearly every time the boots are used. This is the down side of ordering online without physically trying to product on first.

Great shoe. My son requested these. They do run large. Returned in store and salesperson indicated he was aware they run large. We ended up purchasing a size down.

Perfect boot for mud season in our area.

Boots are comfortable, but after the very 1st time wearing, the 1st layer of the sole insert inside the boot starting coming apart.

Was exactly what I wanted, comfortable and to wear in light snow/wet weather.

They were great once they sent the right item.

I initially ordered a size 11 because I wear 11 1/2 shoes. Found them to be too large for my feet. Returned them and wanted it replaced with a size 10 W. It was replaced but I got one with frayed thread inside and obviously worn by someone. I was not happy and said so. The customer service is sending a replacement today. The 4 stars are for the customer service. I'll update. Never returned an LL product before. I guess buying shoes online is always tricky.

I love these boots. They're just what I've been trying to find. I would have rated them 5 stars, except for the width, which is a bit too wide and a tad sloppy.

The quality of the material used is very good however, be careful when you order the size. I read the reviews and noted that it said to order a smaller size than normal. I wear a 9 and couldn't believe an 8 would work so I ordered a 9. I put on 2 pair of socks, one very thick and the right boot was not bad, still a little long but the left was way too big. I needed to do some work and thought I could get by so I wore them. Mistake. The left boot is just too big. In fact both are, but the left is worse than the right. So now I'm trying to decide if they are worth buying another pair in an 8. Probably look for something else.

My Husband love's these, but I had to buy insoles for them as the rubber is cold. He had a pair from many years ago and they finally gave out.

I am a big LL Bean fan. The quality is always there. I ordered the 6" tie boot, as I already have the duck shoe. However, I had knee replacement surgery in September and all healed and successful, but when I got the boot with the 6"tie, I had a hard time getting them on because the tongue did not fold forward - it was sewed to the side of the boot, and I had a heck of a time trying to get them on. If the tongue had been loose, where I could have put it forward, I could have gotten my foot in easier, or when I was younger, but with it sewn up, it was too difficult to get on. Would highly recommend it for a younger person.

As expected. Have had both Gumshoes and their 6" boots. Sizing info is accurate. My only issue is that I have wicked protruding bunions, and the rubber is not very forgiving, though it will conform to your deformity over time. Bottom line, these boots are "Wicked Good"!!! Cheers!!!!!
