I have wanted a pair of the LL Bean 6" boots for years but for some reason just never seemed to get around to order a pair. In the last couple of years I have developed a hammer toe, which is very painful if I am on my feet very much and I have to wear orthotic inserts in my shoes to help alleviate the pain. i recently purchased a pair of the LL Bean 6" boots and placed my orthotics in them and was amazed at how comfortable they were. After walking all day I did not experience foot pain in the evening that I normally have.

Good quality and comfortable boot. Worked well for me this winter in light snow even though its not insulated. Great for walking around a city full of ice and slush in the winter. Would recommend.

I followed the fit instructions and they fit perfectly . These boots are exactly what I wanted for a light boot for use in rain and light snow. Great for walking the dogs in spring in Wisconsin. Should be good for early trout season on streamside tactics

Listen to LL Bean on sizing. Mine fit great. I normally wear a US 11. I bought. US 10 after talking with LL Bean. In rain storm the only dry thing were my feet.
This is my first Bean purchase. I will be back to look for other items.

Excellent quality, as expected. Size runs large, so excellent recommendation by sales associate to choose smaller size than normal. Worn a few times, so far. Very comfortable and warm, especially for an unlined boot.

I wear a size 14 so I ordered 13 - yes, you *absolutely* have to order one size smaller, as even my 13's have some wiggle room to them. I've worn them a couple of times now and they're extremely comfortable and ready for whatever you want to throw at them. I'm normally a sneaker guy so I didn't know if I would like wearing these out and about, but these are now my "go to" shoes for the winter. Nice job L.L. Bean, now I know why they're so popular.

I never write reviews, but this was needed; BEFORE YOU ORDER, I'd recommend ordering 1 size lower because they do run big. I had to exchange them because they were too big even with very thick wool socks. NOTE they're customer service is TOP NOTCH! If you're a half size, I'd still recommend going a half size down.
WONDERFUL SHOES! LOVE EM! I GET A LOT OF COMPLIMENTS AND THEY'RE VERY COMFORTABLE! HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND THEY ARE VERY HIGH QUALITY! I BOUGHT A CABELA'S KNOCKOFF ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO AND THOUGH THEIRS WAS GOOD FOR THE GREAT, I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO SPEND DOUBLE/TRIPLE THE MONEY FOR THESE. LL BEAN HAS A LOT OF PRIDE BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.

Ordered online. Description/suggestion said order 1 size smaller than normal size. Was hesitant but went along. Shouldn't have done that. Took the size 10s
to Local LL Bean and ordered the 11s I should have.
It all went quickly and I'm very happy with the shoes.
My only suggestion is to be very careful with size selection.

This is my second pair of Bean Boots and they are great. They are warm, comfortable and waterproof. Just what I need for trekking round in the mud or snow. Just be sure and order a size smaller like they recommend and they will fit just right.

I usually am a true size 10 put ordered a 9 and it worked fine. The week I got the boots went fishing around the swamps of Louisiana and they were great and were very comfortable...as usual another home run LL Beam product

A very nice boot. I'm an 11 so I ordered a size 10 as suggested and that was perfect.

After three plus decades, I had to replace my old six lace L.L. Bean boots, so got a new pair and I'm off on a new adventure with an obviously excellent pair of boots on my feet.

My first pair of LL Beans and definitely will be getting more varieties in the future. Definitely go one size smaller for the right fit. Only thing I might change is the laces, their heavy duty but I'm not a fan of the color. Very comfortable boot, I wear mine everywhere from fishing to going out to dinner. I purchased the six inch non insulated boot four years ago. I have used the boot in snow storms and hurricane type rain.My feet have always been dry.
They do run big. I ordered a size down and with heavy
socks they fit well.
These boots look great with khakis and can easily be paired with jeans.
Overall, a well made boot.

I bought the 6" boots with the orange soles. I didn't know they even had this color as an option. I love the fit of these boots, I typically have a hard time finding a boot that fits and that is comfortable. These boots are amazing, very easy to put on and take off. I also love the customer service I received. I had several questions and they were amazing at answering all my questions.
I will be ordering again, and I'll be recommending this product to my friends. I have gotten all kind of compliments on these boot.
Love these boots! Thank you LL Bean

I bought these for my husband, and followed the advice to size down, and they fit. Arrived earlier than expected in time for a series of storms! Very useful in the wet (just like my low cut ones). Bought without thermal lining so they can be a bit cool, so will just add an innersole. This will insulate and add a bit of padding underfoot.

I am very happy with the boots. I needed something to replace worn out boots for wearing outside while doing mild chores and daily 'business' trips with the dog. They work great at keeping the wet and mud on the outside of the boot, and have a sturdy footing resistant to slips on wet ground. They are more than roomy, and run large as stated in guide. I got size 10 for my 10.5 feet and can wear probably the thickest socks I own plus insoles without problem. Unless the rubber dries and cracks over time, they will likely last for a very long time. I will be getting a pair for my wife soon.

I finally got the Bean Boots after years of wanting them and they have not disappointed. I read a lot of reviews and checked a lot on the web and did listen and ordered 1 size down from my normal shoe size. These fit perfectly. I also purchased a pair of L.L. Bean socks and they are a great compliment to these boots. I think if I were to change anything about these boots, it would be the shoe strings, but I clearly see why they choose what they do (better in wet concitions). I would not recommend the 6" Bean Boot for hiking conditions, but great for wet conditions. Highly recommend.
Thanks Mabel for making such a great pair of boots!

I just receivede my first pair of these boots only hours ago. To anyone uncertain of the fit...I wear a 10.5 regular Addidas tennis shoe. My foot is not wide or narrow.
I followed the instruction guidlelines as to what to purchase and they fit perfectly. I bought a pair of size 9. I wear Wigwam white tube socks most of the time because they are not thick, but comfortable, yet there is enough room that I can still wear a thick insulated sock if I choose.
I tried the shoes / boots on immedialte, laced them up and they fit perfectly. There is a bit of a tightness at the top of the leather but this is normal and it will go away, but I am really pleased. Also, I usually wear arch supports but these have a substanbtial arch in them and I may not need to wear my supports.
I really like these boots and I am glad I bought a size 9 (for my usual size 10.5 shoe size). So, do not assume that the smaller size is too small because it is not. SIze 9 in these boots from a regular shoe size of 10.5 and the fit great, not tight at all.

Extremely well made pair of boots.
I called LL Bean because I have a wide foot and wasn't sure what size to order. I ended up ordering both my normal shoe size and one size below it.
The lower size fit perfectly! My normal size 11 in the LL Bean boot was too big for my feet.
Thank you LL Bean,
Joe

This is my first pair of Bean boots since I was a kid, and I really can't tell you why I took so long to get another pair! I opted for the 6" as I'd like to wear these daily . . . Running errands, going to work, going for a walk w/the kids, work around the yard, shoveling light snow, etc. Extremely comfortable boots, but you need to pay close attention to the sizing charts on Bean's site as well as other reviews. I studied customer reviews for a while and even went into a local Bean store to try a pair on and speak w/an associate (extremely helpful, if you can get to a store!). I was very excited to see the field olive/orange option in the 6"! Not that the original Bean boot color scheme isn't exciting, but the olive/orange option is different, plus orange is my favorite color! This also happened to be one of the only options that were currently in-stock (although, I would have waited if they weren't!).
Due to the fact I found customer reviews very helpful, here's my two cents: these run big, but it is what it is. Just follow the chart and/or call Bean for help. I wear a 10.5 running shoe (New Balance, mostly) and 10.5 or 11 in most "dress shoes" (I wear a lot of Sperry's; in size 11). I ordered a size 9 Bean boot and it fits like a glove, w/some room to spare for heavy socks, etc. I don't have a wide or narrow foot, so the "standard" width was just fine for me.
I was due for some new, heavy winter socks, so I picked up a couple pairs of Bean's merino wool ragg socks and when paired w/the boots, its a perfect fit. That being said, I've also worn the boots w/normal weight dress socks and I do not find the boots to be big. I'm also looking into Bean's shearling lined innersoles as well, just to throw in the boots when it gets really cold. I haven't pulled the trigger on these yet, but will most likely do so soon!
All and all, I'm extremely happy w/the boots, so much so that I'm eyeing the 8" Thinsulate or the Gor-tex/Thinsulate boots for some of the heavier duty winter work around the house! Thanks, Bean.
Oh, and last but not least, thank you Kathy and the Bean boot team!

Excellent quality and shipping faster than expected! I normally wear a men's size 9 shoe. After reading reviews on the boots running large I ordered a wide 8. This turned out to be a perfect fit.
Yes, the boots run large (room for heavy socks). Order a size smaller than what you normally wear.
I ordered mid Dec 2016 with an expect shipping date of Jan 14th 2017. I received them today Jan 5th! Nice surprise and perfect timing as we received our first snowfall of the season today!
