I've had this coat for almost a year and a half, love it so much! The fit is perfect, even when its zipped to the top, hood on, the neck is perfect and hood also. Lightweight is almost an understatement, it feels like you don't have anything on, surely not a long, comfy, protective coat... but yes, you do! I live waterside on the Chesapeake Bay with winds that would blow me around just walking my dog, but this jacket keeps me warm and the wind doesn't get through to the inside. I can wear it with or without a sweater or hoodie and its perfect. I hate wind, cold and fast wind, which we have a lot of! This jacket is perfect in performance, fit and color. Inside pocket down by thigh hidden in seam allows you to put your phone or turn the coat into the pocket and make it small as a pencil case.amazing. I don't walk through forests, so can't say much about it snagging like someone else claimed, but I've had no problems and love this coat hope you will too. Don't hesitate to purchase this one!

I used the size guide but still had to exchange for a size smaller. The coat is absolutely great quality and has kept me warm (and I am always cold). I really like the longer length and lighter weight. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I purchased this coat for a trip to Lincoln Nebraska. It proved to be invaluable in the cold windy weather. It's not too bulky and provided just the right amount of warmth. This is my first down coat as I live in Tennessee and never really found the need for one. Now that I have this one I don't know what I was waiting for as this is not just for freezing weather. Nice tailored fit, however I ordered a larger size than usual and probably should have ordered my usual size as there is extra room, enough for several sweaters underneath.

I had purchased one of them (w/o hood) which made me so happy. Then, I purchased two items this year and they kept my mood up once again. My appreciation goes to the LL Bean.

Waterproof. Light but warm. Comfortable in a car

I bought this Ultra-Light 850 coat on a 2 A-Day sale, got an amazing price on an amazing coat! I love that is it so light and repels water. Have worn it in rain more often than not (NJ had a wet winter this year, but no snow to speak of!) Rain beaded up, and dried very quickly, all the while keeping me snug and warm. The kelp green is not the prettiest color out there, but the price was great.

Lightweight, comfortable, warm. Purchased color that was on sale (hunter green) and it is attractive. Am happy with this jacket.

Beautiful coat that weighs next to nothing!

The person for whom I purchased this coat absolutely loves it. She's worn it every day. She says it is so lightweight, and enveloping; it feels great. She likes how warm it is, and how weatherproof it is. She had a Bean parka before this, but after 15 years of heavy use, it was time for a new coat. Hopefully, this new one will serve her even better.

I love that it's so lightweight yet keeps me toasty warm. Depending on the temperature and windchill forecast, I'll use 1-3 layers with this coat being the outermost layer. I even bought one for my sister for her morning walks with her dog. Highly recommend. Two suggestions for next year's model? 1) A removable faux fur trim; 2) An inside or outside chest zipped pocket. Thank you!

This coat is light and warm it is well made and a delight to wear. The sizes run a tad small. I usually wear a large but it was a snug fit so had to go a size up. I certainly don't regret buying this beautiful coat

At first I wasn't sure that this coat was as good a quality as the first one I bought without the hood and, after wearing it several times, am very happy with it.

This jacket is super comfortable and warm. My only complaint is some of the feathers are coming out of the back seam.

I especially love the coat because it is not heavy or too puffy, but is extremely warm. It is exactly what I was looking for. I looked at 5 other stores and found nothing that compared to this one.

I have two now! Just love this coat. Really warm, covers my seat when I get in a cold car, moves with me when xcountry skiing and it looks great! It handles all layers without bulking me up. One for every day and one for special occasions.

An excellent coat, I got in black and now green. Light, thin and warm! Though I have always 1 problem with LL Bean sizes, too short and too wide. I got this coat because it is SO comfortable, but the sleeves are too short and overall is slightly too wide and too short. LL Bean sizes and I are just no good fit. Too bad.

I wanted another ultralight that was longer. Wasn't wild about the attached hood but as it turns out it doesn't get in the way. Bought a size up to ensure I could wear it over bulky sweaters or fleece when I walk the dogs. It is perfect. So light but so warm. A great purchase!

I wear this coat every day in the winter. It is fairly warm but light weight and comfortable. If it is very cold (under 25 degrees) I DO have to layer it and I wear a lightweight synthetic down jacket underneath. It is not extra puffy which makes it look a little dressier than some of the other down coats. The green goes with everything but is definitely an "army" green.

This coat is light and warm and a dream. It feels like you've got whipped cream on but it's warm. And having a hood in case you need a little extra protection is also wonderful. I love that it's long enough but not too long. This is a great coat.

I love this coat! Warm enough with layers for most NY/NJ winter weather and the hood is a plus in rain and wind, especially if you don't have a hat handy. Might have liked to see some sort of closure for the hood...velcro or a tie, but if you zip the coat right up to the top, the hood does stay on. Comfortable but light weight and it can be folded into the pocket, which is perfect for taking along on trips and packing into carry-on bags. Love that you offer petite sizes! Makes such a positive difference in the fit for me! The size chart worked well, too. I got this in the blue as I already had the black without the hood. It's really a lovely shade! I do also have one of your heavier jackets for outdoor hiking and winter activities. Couldn't be happier with your selection of outerwear!

My wife is always cold. Walking our dog when Im out of town is a real favor in the winter months. This coat is a great gift that helps repay the favor. She's warm! The coat is remarkably light weight for the degree of warmth it provides and she looks good too. Great LL Bean quality coat.

NC winter weather is weird. Especially these days. This coat is all I need for our tempsmid 20s to mid 50s. Even in the mid 20s I only need a thin light sweater or performance fleece underneath. The new waterproof down means I don't have to worry about walking a block in normal rain. The adjustable hood is nice and pockets are fleece lined. This is the best!

This is a great coat. It is lightweight yet warm. Just love the material and the quality of the product.
