Excellent quality. Lightweight, however, very warm. Not bulky like most winter coats. Very comfortable while in car driving with coat on. I originally owned and I bought one for my daughter and she loves it!

I bought this coat last season and couldn't stop raving about it. So much so I bought it as a Christmas gift for my mom this year. She wasn't expecting it to be warm since it was so lightweight but man this thing is warm! It traps your own heat in there. And love that it's so light and can fold away into itself

This is a really good coat. While it is not a thick down material, it can be moved up a few notches in warmth if you wear something like a wool sweater or a light fleece jacket underneath. It is is cut well for petites and the hood is a great addition.

I ordered similar coats from 3 places that sell outdoor gear and ended up keeping this coat and sending back the other two. This coat was twice the price but has a chin guard, the cloth next to the zipper that prevents the skin from touching the zipper and getting cold. It also has higher quality down with goose down rather than duck, which is warmer. It also has better cuffs at the wrists and the fit and design are better. I like the color and it feels good to be in a LL Bean coat! Thank you.

A beautiful, warm, lightweight coat for winter! Fits so well!

I bought this coat last winter, and wanted to wait to review until I really had tested it out. This coat may have been the best purchase I have ever made. I love it! I am a solid medium in LL Bean items and this coat fits just as I would expect it to. And boy is it warm! I live in southeastern PA where the average winter temps are 20/30 but the air is damp. This coat is perfect in these temps, and works amazingly when it's colder. I would buy this coat a million times over.

This was the winter coat I didn't know I needed! I confess I only purchased it because it was a daily special, but am so glad I did. It's ridiculously light but warm. I wore it doing errands on a cold day, in and out of the car, and it was perfect, warm but not bulky. Then I wore it on a long hike, still perfect. Love the green color.

I purchased this coat for the second time. I originally bought it without the hood 5 -7years ago. I knew the next time I would purchase with a hood which comes in handy when the cold wind blows and you don't have a hat. I love the warmth yet light not bulky feel of the coat.

My wife loves this coat. Long enough to sit on a cold bench and keep warm; fitted some but not too tight for layering. And very light weight. It's 16 degrees today and she said it keeps her warm.

I needed something to replace my old stand-by and this is far superior! Super light weight, comfortable, warm (so far down to 15 degrees), and the color is great. I like that it is slightly fitted, so it looks elegant and works with dress up or down.

Warm, lightweight, and well designed w/flattering lines and many useful features: snugly fitting adjustable hood, sleeve cuffs, 2-way zipper, zippered hand pockets, soft fleece lining the zipper at the face/neck, and 2 internal pockets (one zipped) on the inside lower half of the coat. To make the coat perfect, I'd add locking toggles to the strings of the adjustable hood and would add an inside zippered chest pocket for phone. Length is just right - keeps the hips and thighs warm but still easy to get in and out of the car. I chose the XL to give room for bulky sweaters. Thrilled with this coat!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this coat! I live in Fairbanks, Alaska, and this is my 0 to 30 degree coat (I have a heavier coat, also from LLBean, for below zero days). This coat is super lightweight yet still warm and comfortable. The blue color is beautiful, and the cut is very flattering - I get compliments when I wear it. One of the best features of this coat is that it has no Velcro; I can't stand coats with Velcro because it looks cheap and it gets stuck to everything. Another winner from LLBean!

I put on the coat as soon as it arrived in the seemingly impossibly light envelope. What a first impression! I have to say that in the 26 degree temp with a stiff wind I was not warm enough. BUT I went back out with a fleece under it and was so toasty I doubled my walking distance just to enjoy my coat. The hood is a nice surprise. It's exactly what I need and does not block my view like a big furry hood. And there's a pocket inside that holds the coat for packing!!! Wow! Great layer, great coverage, great style, great practicality.

Hands down one of the best purchases I've made! I bought the shorter version jacket last year, and realized this year I really needed something that would give me more coverage As a plus size, curvy woman it's often difficult to find the right fit for me in the bust & hip area, and this jacket is perfect!! Great quality, extremely lightweight, and cozy. I even have room to layer with a Lightweight fleece vest when it's really cold out. Also, the ability to unzip partially from the bottom helps getting into & out of car really easy! Treat yourself, you'll enjoy it for years, its worth the investment!!

This coat is stylish and warm. The color is a lovely shade of eggplant. The length is perfect for those cold winter days paired with an infinity scarf it's a great look

I absolutely love this coat! It is so warm and yet extremely lightweight. I personally hate being in a car with a big jacket on, but this coat is super comfortable. I think this is one of the best jackets I own for winter use. I live in Chicago and I have been using this in 20-30 degree-F weather. I haven't tried this in temps colder than that since I have a thicker LL bean jacket for really cold weather. The fit was perfect- I'm short and the petite size is right where I want it. Highly recommend!

I have purchased this coat twice! Once a few years ago, which I sadly lost during a move. When I realized what had happened I immediately bought another one. This is the best winter coat I've ever had! It's lightweight, fashionable, and extremely warm. I have never felt so comfy and warm while still looking cute!

I really love this coat because it's everything I want in a jacket all bundled up into one. It's casual, folds up into a ball, flexible and not restricting, warm, and waterproof! Something I value very highly in a jacket is for it to be lightweight and moveable so I don't feel claustrophobic and restricted while driving or running errands. This jacket allows me to feel comfy but to also be warm at the same time! Thanks LL Bean!

I live in Eastern Idaho and I wanted a long lightweight "down" coat for the harsh winters here. Our average temps between late December through mid March hover in the low 20's to low teens (Fahrenheit). This "850" coat is perfect! No need to layer as much even in the coldest weather. I have had this for going on 3 winters now and I love it so much that I just ordered the shorter version in a more vibrant color. The other day, I had to run errands and it was 19 degrees out. All I had on underneath this zipped up coat was a waffle knit long sleeve shirt and jeans and I was still comfortable. If I were just standing outside inactive or was outside for a very prolonged time period, I might have had to layer a bit more underneath with a thicker sweater or something. Paired with warm head , hand and feet gear, you'll feel great :-)! I really like that the zipper can be zipped both up and down from either the top or bottom as I have some curves so this helps with the fit around my hip area. My only concern is trying not to snag or tear this on rough edges of things as it hangs lower on the body than average ( Can get closed in the car door or get hooked up on stuff etc.) and due to being built to be lightweight, the outer surface fabric seems slightly more delicate than the typical stereotyped weather repellent coat. This would not be the best one to wear to do rough outdoor work or sports in :-). All and all, I love it!

This is my second purchase of this jacket, Black and Blue. I absolutely LOVE the fit and the functionality. It keeps me warm and stylish. The jacket is not heavy so it is easy to pack. Perfect for cold fall days/nights!

This is the most wonderful jacket I have ever owned! Versatile, lightweight, soft, and with room to wear layers beneath - or not. Pockets are right where they need to be, and the hood actually works the way a hood should. I couldn't be happier!!

I love that llbean offers petite sizes, I usually have a hard time with coats fitting well. I ordered the petite small and it is huge, way more than just loose fitting. I never wear an xsmall in anything and only wear petite sizes for coats and dresses. I returned for the petite xsmall and curious how much smaller it will be since the small had so much extra coat, it was like a tent on me.

I originally ordered a small and it was too roomy and returned it for the X-small and it fits great. I love the coat.
