Stylish for sure and very well constructed. It's a slim cut but sized perfectly. As far as layering goes, a shirt and sweater is all you might get. No thermals. Read carefully "Ultralight". I think LLB has over stated the temperature range. I did not wear this in our recent -10F weather. I've a parka for that. This is a nice casual around town jacket that looks sharp. Not sure the exterior fabric would stand up to back country abrasion.

What I expected when I made the purchase. Its a perfect lightweight jacket to have in the car or to wear when I am running out in the cold. I didn't purchase it for long hikes or weekends in the outdoors . For me 5'10" and 220 - I can't wear with layers but had a light hoodie underneath - and wasn't too snug- I would go 5 stars if it continues to wear and perform as it has the first few wears

I'd been looking for one of these lightweight Down Jackets and thought I would give this a try. True to it's name, the jacket is light, warm, runs true to size and fits well overall. The downfall is the cuffs. The cuff us half elastic, half fabric. It was somewhat loose at my wrist and unable to be adjusted in any way. This probably isn't an issue if you have a glove which can go well over the cuff, but if not, there's no way to make it tighter in any way. Sadly, I returned the jacket due to this. Put some sort of adjustment or make the cuff some sort of rib knit or weave and I'll be back

Jacket can feel tight for a XXL size. For the money I would have expected metal zippers. The jacket is ultralight and does not have a hood (which was my preference. I waited 15 months for this color jacket to go on sale and it never did

I felt very warm and comfortable in 25 degree weather and even colder conditions as low as 15 degrees.

Four stars only because of tight fit. Everything I wear is extra large so that's what I ordered but a very snug fit. Definitely can't layer shirts underneath.

This is a replacement for one I bought years ago. The last one has gotten to the point that it's molting thru thin spots in the fabric. It's not a defect, I had the last one for at least 6-8 winters. The last one was silver because that was what was in stock. The mustard is kind of the same reason, but I like the brighter color since it'll be winter and it helps to be seen.

This jacket fits very well, with a comfortable collar, draw closure at the bottom and nice elastic cuffs. The workmanship is very good. My concern is that the nylon fabric is somewhat stiff and after several wearings and two air tumble-dryings with tennis balls, the baffles are still quite flat and the down compacted. Cold air noticeably seeps through the seams between baffles, and this jacket is no warmer than my LL Bean PrimaLoft Packaway Jacket at this point. Hoping that the fabric will soften over time and allow the baffles to become more circular and the seams better insulated.

I purchased this jacket on sale in late March to wear in weather about 20 degrees and up. I gave it a 4 only because I have not been able to wear it in temperatues below 30 degrees. I live in Minnesota but winter was pretty much over when I got the jacket. It definitely is a very light jacket and appears to be well made.

puffer coats are nice coats for keeping warm but i would not recommend for hiking in the woods they rip when you walk in tree branches .on a good trail they are fine

When I first received this jacket I was disappointed with the lack of loft in the down, especially when compared with the similar women's jacket my wife bought many months earlier. However, after a few days the down re-expanded considerably. It is now much puffier than it was straight out of the packaging and is exactly as I had been expecting. It is a very comfortable jacket. In terms of sizing, I would say it is slightly on the roomy side, which is only of note since I believe the description indicates "slightly fitted".

I had a vest of the same quality, and was very happy. This jacket is exactly like the vest, but the down keeps coming out every time I wear. Now is about 2 months, but still I see down on my shirt very frequently

A good jacket at a great sale price. I'm 6' with 32-33" sleeves. The arms were plenty long if not a tad too long. The body is roomy for my jacket size of 42. The chest area is especially roomy. Water beads up in a light drizzle. Wrist closures should be more snug with more elastic all around. Collar and pockets would be nicer if they were micro fleece lined, and many similar competitor's jackets have this feature. The pertex holds the feathers in--no leakage. Good draw cord at hem. Very packable. I doubt it will achieve the warmth rating for me but still the warmth to weight ratio is very good. I tried it at 32-37 degrees during a long woods walk and was forced to peel off under layers to keep cool.

Zipper installed backwards, but otherwise a very good jacket. Very lightweight, but very warm. It just got tested in -14 below zero temperature. Could use side entry hand warmer pockets instead of zippered top load pockets.

Had to return jacket your version of yellow ie chanteuse, was too intensely garish for my taste, I would have preferred,a lighter lemony yellow. The depicted color on the website doesn't reflect the intensity ,nuance of the tint until u actually view the product that I immediately deemed unacceptable. That aside the quality of the jacket was not compromised.

Love the coat. It is extremely light weight. It slides on over a fleece very easily unlike some coats. I love the fact that dog hair doesn't adhere to it. I wore it out in light rain and the coat shed the water really well. Although it is rated to 25 below, I really beg to differ! Still love the coat.........

I have been eyeing this coat for three years and finally purchased it. Light weight, warm and comfortable. The pockets are large. The only improvement that i can think of would be zippered vents in the pit area, this feature was more common in the 90's.

I like this coat. I just wish it did not have the LL Bean Logos. Must they put one on the front AND back of the coat too?

Really good fit, good quality seam-work and construction. Not as warm as rated, however, on really cold, windy winter days. Need sufficient layers underneath to make it work. That makes it a bit pricey, in my opinion. But still a good product.

A very good value at season-end sale prices. It replaced my 10+ yr old 850 jacket. Really like the Downtek water resistance. Dries much more quickly than the old version. Adequately warm, but doesn't seem to have the loft of the old version though.

Great down jacket...not quit as warm as I expected. Nice color (pale green), and a great sale price. Fits very good. I use it as a liner in a gore-tex coat I have....does the trick! Haven't worn it in really cold weather so I can't give a review on extreme conditions, but it does well as a liner in the mid 30s to 20s.

I live in the northwest corner of CT, where it can get pretty cold. I like this jacket a lot. In fact it's my go-to jacket...until the temp dips below 15 or so. Don't know who tested this in -25 and didn't freeze-bite their butt off. Despite what they say or think, this is a light winter jacket. It's just too thin and light for those arctic blasts.
