Light weight and warm, this coat keeps out the Wyoming wind and is very stylish.

The 850 Ultralight is one of the best jackets that I have ever owned.

I just took the jacket on a trip to Europe and it was perfect for the trip. It is very lightweight but definitely keeps you warm. It breaths well too. It folds up into the reversible pocket / pouch which makes it easy to pack.

Fits great, very warm and incredibly light weight. For years have been wearing leather jackets, NEVER again. This was also a great traveling jacket this past January as it folded up into a small pocket sticked into the inside flap and took up almost no room in our luggage. Have been wearing it daily this winter and it still looks great

My wife has the same jacket, we both agree it is the perfect winter down jacket. It fits well, is quite warm and is highly compressible when layers need to be taken off and put in pack. There is a great selection of colors. We highly recommend this jacket.

I am 6'2, I need a tall length. And with LL Bean, some fits Large Tall fits better and some Medium Tall fits better. With this jacket the medium tall was perfect. This jacket keeps me so warm in the winter and has enough room for a layer underneath. Absolutely love this jacket in the winter for everyday use, running errands, all of it! I have the black and would like to get the carbon navy eventually as well.

Have been an LL Bean customer since my parents bought my clothes as a child. Have had a lot of LLB coats and only recently got this one. I've been missing out. Out of all the coats I've gotten - this one by far is my favorite. As they state - it's packable, repells water, blocks wind really well, and is very warm. I've been shocked about how good this jacket is. Has kept me warm in temps down to 15F. Perfect for taking on trips. It's comparable to the Primaloft jacket, but the UltraLight 850 is warmer. The Men's Waterproof Ultralight Down Jacket or Baxter State Parkas are my go to jackets when facing brutally cold temps and conditions locally (but don't take them on the road as often since they're much larger to carry on trips). For local travel and outdoors stuff including hiking - the Ultralight 850 Down Jacket has been perfect. Highly recommend.

I picked mine up in the fall, a color I loved that was being chased out. I was lucky to get one. It is really lightweight but designed for maximum loft and warmth. It also has a nice down collar. It is warm but don't mistake it for a heavy winter parka. On very cold days I layer a Bean turtleneck and a fleece underneath and grab a wool scarf and it is great for around town, athletic events and travel and touring sites like the Zoo. It has a slim profile. It sheds snow flurries easily. For heavier precipitation I wear a Bean Rain shell over it and I stay warm, comfortable and dry. It may indeed stand up to rain but I don't push it. I find it very versatile and the workmanship is superb. Thrilled with the purchase. I am 5'9" and 165. I had to go to a large when the medium sold out which turned out great for layering purposes, the medium would have been too small. If you don't want to layer, your usual size would be great.

The sales associate matched this coat with a vest. It is a perfect combination for cold weather. It looks good, feels good with pockets for gloves, hat, mobile phone, plus. The color is great.

I have had mine for years now and love it. My family and co-workers joke that its oart of my uniform from fall through the spring. It is finally starting show some wear and Id get another, but I really wish the rain forest green was still agailable.
