I bought this boot because it was rated the best by a hiking magazine. After 3 weeks use one of the lace lock mechanisms began pulling away from the boot. The company provided new boots but now I have the same boot with, what I feel is, the same design flaw. So now Im trying to return these new boots.

I bought these a few weeks ago and I really like the boots. However, the laces frayed after 3 days and Salomon won't replace them so I had to buy some more on Amazon. Not a huge deal, but I was disappointed that Salomon didn't stand behind the laces they provide. If not for the laces I would have given it a 5 star.

Ive been wearing boots for well over 40 years, tried all different manufacturers and styles and these are the most comfortable and well made boots that Ive ever worn! I work construction and am on by feet 12 to 14 hours each and every day and I really like the feel of these boots. These are definitely worth getting, you wont be disappointed.

My husband love this boots. He said its the best boots for hiking and for work. He said that his feet and his knees dont bother him as much anymore since wearing these boots for work. Hope Solomon keeps making these boots.

These shoes were terrible to break in and left my feet aching for weeks. On top of that they started to fall apart after only 2 months. I was able to send them back on warranty but even though the new shoes were $80 cheaper it didnt matter. Its just a straight swap. Will definitely not be purchasing from this company again.

The shoes seem a little long. When I started wearing them I got blisters. This did not happen with the last pair of Quest 4 gore-tex. They loosened up more while hiking than the last pair. Will continue to wear. Maybe these take longer to break in.

The first pair of Q4 boots squeaked. Salomon replaced them and the new pair, less than one month the rubber trim above toes have already started to delaminate.

This is my second pair of Salomon hiking boots, and the initial quality is just over the top. I was looking for stability & support while still offering a cushioned step, and these do not disappoint. Ive worn other brands before, but these far surpass anything Ive tried previously. These came highly recommended by the NYTs review publication, and its easy to see why

I have worn Quests for many years. While I don't hike or backpack, they support my very bad ankle better than any other boots I've tried. I bought a pair of these (from Amazon) on March 2, 2020. I started wearing them mid-day on March 18, 2023. This morning, March 23, 2023 one of the eyelets tore out when putting them on - less than 5 days! I noticed that this pair (and the spare pair I am now wearing) were made in Cambodia while my older pairs were made in Vietnam and lasted until the soles wore out. I am wondering if anyone else has had problems with Quests made in Cambodia? While I have always recommended Quests, at this point I am worried the pair I'm wearing will fail as well.

Ok so I want to start out by saying I wear theses boot every day for 10-12 hours a day for the past 3-4 years. I love them but I honestly love them the most because of Salomon's warrenty. I typically only get 3 months of wear per pair of boots but thanks to amazing customer service team they have been great about fulfilling there warranty. I would say I wish that they would stitch the rubber to the leather around the toe guard instead of glueing. This is typically the first point of failure.

These boots are my second pair. Great support. I wear them just about every day. Didnt take me long to break in. The design of the boot has changed a bit. Actually for the better. Last pair lasted about two years.

Ive solely worn quest boots from Salomon for roughly 15 years. By far the best boots out there. But this new style has a terrible sole, mid outer foot! They dug into my foot so bad I couldnt wear them for more than an hour at a time. Normal break in in previous models takes a few days, this is not a break in issue. Its the sole! They ruined an amazing boot so I switched back to Zamberlan. I hope the new speed cross still fit the same or Ill have to find a new shoe as well! Bummer, Bummer, Bummer!!!!

The Quest 4 GTX is one of the best boots I've owned, with some caveats. Firstly, these are meant for colder climates; heat does not dissipate easily from them, so I would not recommend these for warm/humid environments. Secondly, the height, lacing system, extra support, thinner tongue and slightly wider toe box seem to be meant for conditions that would require a lot of protection and/or support around the heel and ankle. For my purposes, carrying ~20kg of photography equipment hiking in rocky, sandy, and muddy terrains provided incredible support and made the whole endeavor easier. Even worn casually on the streets, these were among the most comfortable shoes I currently own. Only time will tell if they withstand harsher conditions as I am traveling to Iceland in these, but I am happy with them for now.

I have used quest boots for about 10 years now. I hike a lot and this boot used to be a great balance between weight and durability. The quest 2 and 3 versions were comfortable and would always last me about 2 years per pair. This new version is no longer as comfortable (the plastic strap bites into your foot), and the lack of durability has me looking for a new boot. The problem with the new version is that the sole separates and tears away. I thought the first pair was just a lemon. Salomon replaced them under warranty (their customer service is great), but the second pair did the same thing after just two months (four hikes) in technical terrain. These used to be my favorite boots, but I wish Salomon would bring back the old design so I don't have to go looking for a new boot brand.

These boots are comfortable and the tread is decent. After just 2 weeks of wearing them the shoes leak from the toe, disappointed that they couldn't handle a light SoCal storm, good looking boot but not waterproof, and it doesn't keep my feet warm either after 3 months of use this is how they look like

I've owned 2 pairs. Both pairs haven't stood up very well as I'm a landscaper and really put footwear to the test. The biggest problem I have is, neither pair stayed waterproof very long, if at all. I'm older and need a comfortable boot, but seeing how two pairs failed me and now the price is so high, I'll have to find another option. If you just want to go hiking, good boot, but the waterproofing failed me twice

Ok i love this boot. Everything about it bar the two things I'm about to mention. The tor box is narrow fitting so I'd go half a size bigger, and the sole. I have walked through them in 5 months and I am gutted. The bootbis super comfy can be fully submerged and no water gets in. But I can't pay the price of this boot every quarter. I walk every day for my job and at first these boots were the best thing since sliced bread. If you want a weekend boot dego but as a daily boot. Support I'd amazing and they are light weight.

Salomon Quest 4 GORE-TEX review. I purchased these boots on recommendation from my doctor. I suffer from Hallux rigidus requiring injections every 3 months in an effort to reduce the pain. I purchased a pair eight months ago, albeit skeptical, yet my first impression was WOW, what a comfortable boot. I was at the three month mark and realized I didnt feel the need to schedule an appointment with my doctor, in fact I was able to double the time needed for injections. Six months, my next doctor visit left him blown away as well, the Quest 4 was the star of the show! The feel, and fit was so natural, like a pair of socks. The only issue was the nylon liner in the first lace loop pulled away every now and then I would hear squeak from my left boot sole. Seven months and still comfortable as ever. However, no longer waterproof and squeaking from sole more frequent. Eight months, and my Quest 4 boots remain as comfortable as ever. Unfortunately I have noticed the the protective toe cap separating from the leather and the soles front bumper is pulling away from toe cap. The frequent squeaky sole has now progressed to constant. In closing I will give 5 stars for comfort, fit, and function. I will go with 3 stars due to material quality failures. Overall 4 stars and I highly recommend the Quest 4 especially if you have medical foot issues. I shall return soon with a one year update. Thank Salomon for build a near perfect boot, less the shortcomings noted.

Ive had about 3 weeks working in the snow with these boots, and they have preformed wonderfully! Surprisingly warm for uninsulated boots but not so warm that they cannot be worn in a heated building. Good tread- they seem to grip everything I step onto great waterproofing- havent had wet socks once.
