I have had 7 pairs of the quest series boot through time and loved each and every pair, light like a slipper but the support of a stiff mountain boot.perfectuntil now. The updated version of this boot is painful and uncomfortable after a very short time, 20 mins I have to take them off. Specifically on the bridge of the foot where the new window lacing setup is, and then it also causes the ankle to sinch tighter and cause discomfort. After miles of attempting to let them break in, which I have never had to do with the quest, I have just simply given up. Please undo whatever you did. Here's to hoping! But for now I'm buying other boots

Never will I buy a set of Salomon boots again. They started to peel away within 2 months and now almost unusable. The warranty is next to impossible to sort out. Very poor

I brought these boots before Christmas as I had read some good reviews on different websites. On my first hike in them both boots failed in the same place and half an hour into an 8 hour hike my feet were swimming in water. Terrible build quality, cheaply made for a fairly pricey pair of boots. Extremely dissapointed.

It was amazing from beginning, but after 10k it starts hurting my right ankle, not blister but some knocking pain, feels like a hard rock leaning against my ankle.

Fit really well. Took a leap of faith from Vasque. First use and a major tech brake. Weak.

I had 2 pair (1st & 2nd) of Quest 4D 3 GTX and lately 1 pair (3rd) of QUEST 4 GORE-TEX. I uses them in wet weather and during winter. This all happen within 2 years. The 3 good: Very nice to wear, Good looking and Salomon have good warranty services. The 1 bad: Really bad build quality. Damaged within 3 months, goes for all 3! 1st pair gore tex membran damaged and my feet got wet, further the sole start to make noises due to water penetrated the sole in the joint of the two different rubber materials and finally the joint materials disassembled. The nose rubber piece also let go of the boot. 2nd pair: Same in regards to the sole. It opened up on the joint. 3rd pair (the new Quest 4) same story as the first pair. Wet feet and sole squeaking and will most likely damage if I continue to use them. I will NOT order a new pair of Quest 4 Gore-Tex as I lost my fait in these. I will try the X ULTRA WINTER CLIMASALOMON WATERPROOF 2 but it is not in stock. I find it very strange that the top model is so bad quality and that same mistakes is continued. Think of other shoe makers they manage to mix rubbers without these joints separate. Salomon tel me that you have improved the build quality and I will order a new Quest 4 but if I face same issue 4th time!

I have owned two pairs of the Quest 3 and literally put thousands of miles on them - mostly on multi-day treks in the Rockies. These "upgraded" boots are a travesty. The hard plastic piece on the outside of each foot made it so painful that I had to return them. This isn't something that will improve with being broken in. Additionally, the size was off. I have been a 10.5 in every other Salomon I've ever owned, but with these even going a half size down was still too big. I'm now looking for another brand.

Boots are just over two years old and have had light use. The Gore Tex liners leak immediately upon any water hitting the boot. Useless for the intended purpose

I had a old pair of Salomon Quests, and used them many years and many miles... The new quest 4 hiking started coming apart at the front of the boot after 2 months of light use, less than 20 miles. Boot fits fantastic and just enough support while being completely waterproof. that is until front part of boot started peeling off toe cap on both boots right and left. I think production is problem with cheap glue or assembly.

I have worn Salomon Quest 4 boots for years and have been through many pairs. I have never owned a pair I did not have to file a warranty claim on. I felt lucky if I could get a years use with out them falling apart. I love the boots for fit and performance. For this reason and Salomon's great customer service I have stuck with them. This summer I purchased a pair of the new Quest 4's. After the second use Both toe caps were already starting to separate. I had to wait a month to receive a replacement pair because my size was out of stock. In that time I continued to wear them, and the toe separation was approximately 1/4" deep on both boots. After receiving my second pair of the new Quest 4's, I encountered the same issue with the toe cap starting to separate after the second use. I will be returning these boots for a refund. I would be willing to purchase another pair if Salomon's quality issues are addressed!

Today I went on my 3rd hike wearing these boots, and the first hike in which the boots got wet. Despite the boots being new they aren't at all waterproof. They are comfortable and have great grip, but no more waterproof than a pair of Crocs. Salomon have a poor reputation for reliability and build quality, and it seems it's well deserved.

I bought this boots back in May with hig hopes that they would last me for the rest of the year, unfortunately the soles are almost gone, I'm disappointed because these boots are super comfortable but I can't not afford to buy 2 pairs a year

I made my purchase 4/2021 and It is now 9/2021. What I have found Good about the shoes is the Fit with little to no break in period. Comfortable and water proof form the start. Unfortunately the toe on the right boot has started to separate from the boot after less than six full months of use. Disappointing

Shoes can't make it through two seasons. By end of 2 seasons feet get wet, toe box falling apart, and seams broken.

Had 3 pairs of the pre 2021 version. Toe cap rubber seams peel away causing leaks. Exercised a warranty. Replacement pair did the same. Keen to try the 2021 version and sure enough, 3 months in and the same issue. So very disappointing.

Bought a pair of this boot's predecessor in march of 2020, they were unusable by July. got them warrantied in April 2021 and they began to fall apart by the end of may. Most comfortable boots I've owned but manufacturing quality is unacceptable. Don't rate a product for technical use if it can't handle technical use.

I have now had two pairs of these boots and both have failed on me with very little use and let in water. Both boots have failed in the same place on the bottom of the toe cap where it meets the sole on both sides of the boots. The first pair were replaced and the second pair have failed which includes being in lock down for a year, I went on a two day hike and failed again. Shocking!!! please do not buy save your money

The most uncomfortable boots Having worn military, walking and safety boots for 40 years, I was shocked at how uncomfortable these were. The good points are the grip and waterproofing, both stood up to the worst the highlands could throw at them. Even after a severe downpour my feet and socks were dry. However, they are the most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn. The initial pain came from, I believe, the thick brown plastic band that's laced across the mid foot. It's quite stiff, not pre-formed and as yet slow to mould to the foot. It uses the inside edge of the foot as a fulcrum and over time becomes unbearable. Having unlaced it there is less but still still some discomfort on the inside edges of the feet which I'm trying to work out why, possibly the leather lacing strapping over very soft boots creating local pressure points. I now use the boots for half hour dog walks and still can't wait to take them off whereas I would usually wear my boots until I'm reminded to take them off by my spouse.
