So far I love the shoe, the arch support I am undecided on as of yet. But I use these shoes from trail runs to road runs and the gym. So far I am nothing but love for these shoes.

These are OK. My second pair. They run a half size small and the first were too small. Also the straps that the laces go through run down inside the shoe and get in the way of all but the lights socks.

I've had multiple pairs of Trail Glove shoes and the Trail glove 3 was the best of all worlds. Trail glove 4 and 5 severely skimped on durability of the upper, TG6 seems to acknowledge that mistake returning to a beefed up upper, though the newly designed sole appears lighter (with holes through the vibram layer exposing the foam insole to the ground surface) and has yet to have it's durability tested/determined.
Still, this is the highest quality "barefoot style" shoe I've found on the market. Yes there is substantial arch support, it tends to soften/break down with use. Yes the toe box feels slightly more narrow than previous versions, I would certainly NOT heed Merrel's advice to size down, and in fact many will need to size UP to accommodate their foot width. My size 11, EE foot fit true enough/just right, though I didn't have 11.5s to compare them with. I fail to understand the purpose of the elastic liners attached to the tongue/shoe liner and may need to remove them/cut them out as they make putting the shoe on your foot an unnecessary wrestling match every time. Merrel anyway seem more invested in their barefoot lines than most other brands and I find myself returning to the Trail Gloves for several years now despite my complaints.

Love this shoe. Fits great and I no longer have back pain after a day on my feet. Sole wears out sooner than expected.

I gave this version a four because the band on the inside is not attached to the shell, get's folded and then rubs on my foot. It's not enough to give blisters, just an annoyance.
I am comparing these to my other six pairs of the gloves, both the trail and the street versions. The outer part has usual durability at both the upper and sole. Just don't rest your feet on campfire stones because they melt.

Great minimalist trail running shoe. Sizing off by 1/2 size for me. Normally wear size 9.5, but need a 9 for this shoe.

lasts longer and less sharp rock pains than the Vapor Glove, with the trade-off that it restricts foot motion more. A decent trade-off considering the Vapor Glove is nearly impossible to find right now. The zero drop heel and light weight are what I look for. 800 miles in, the heel has worn down some but the sole is still in good shape.

The Trail Glove 6 is sturdy and comfortable. The complicated lacing/tongue system is more difficult to tie and so the shoes are not as easy to put on or take off as the Trail Glove 4, which were perfect in that regard. The material of the 4, however, was not sufficiently sturdy and did not hold up well.

A little tight on the laces, but great feeling shoe and gives you the ability to feel what you're running on

The top shell of the shoe needs to be thinned out a little. Preview model was not as thick as this model.

Everything is great about it. I think the laces are a bit too long tho. Other than that. Perfect.

I use the shoes exclusively at the track. The track is a pea gravel track with a generous amount of pea gravel (too much for my preference) and getting pieces of gravel in my track shoes had been a problem to the point I purchased Instagaiters to keep gravel out of my shoes. With the Trail Glove Eco shoes I have been able to walk without needing gaiters. I think the shoes are five star quality for comfort on the track but I will wear something else for casual walking. When I'm on the track I don't think about them, I think they are functioning perfectly. The tight fit doesn't allow small foreign material from getting in.

Despite all the negative reviews, I decided to buy these and I'm so glad that I did! Are they like the trail glove 3 that I loved? No. Are they the best hybrid of a minimalist shoe and arch support? Yes! I have very flat feet, and the arch in this shoe is perfect. I don't even need an insert. They are a bit thicker than the other models that I've tried in the past, but I don't think that is a negative thing. My main reason for giving this a 4 star review is simply because the toe box is not as wide as previous models have been. I find my pinky toe wanting a little more room to move, but its not uncomfortable by any means. So if you are looking for a paper thin, wide toe box shoe, then look elsewhere. But if you want a zero drop shoe with some arch support, or just new to barefoot shoes, then this is the one!

The good:
Laces are shorter so there's less to tuck.
Size is feels pretty accurate but we'll get back to that later.
Sole built up at arch which gives a little more support.
Tread has been redesigned and feels a little tougher than the 4.
Heel is once again very nice
The bad : Toe box looks to be more of a pointed design similar to Nike's which is anatomically incorrect.
The laces have almost like a plastic feel to them compared to the 4.
The sole is definitely stiffer, not as flexible as the 4.
The hot spot/crease that is present at the toe flex has not been fixed so they will probably wear holes in them.

As others have mention about this shoe, the arch support was disturbing the first few times. I am still in the slow trying out stage with just a few hours at a time in the house. They have grown on me but I am still undecided for longer term. My other minimalist shoes do not have this arch in them
I'd also recommend:
I have been using Merrell for years with the Moab shoes and boots.

I can understand a lot of the critiques of this shoe, and understand that loyalists want an actual barefoot shoe without the arch support (yes, it's in this shoe) and no cushion (there's a little in there). I am not a pure Barefoot loyalist, and although I've been running on this line of shoes since my first pair of Trail glove 2's about 6 years ago, I've never managed to fully correct for years of traditional running shoes, and therefore still have a little heel strike in my gait. My running medium is a mix of both trail and urban, and I'm not a competitor, just a dude that runs sometimes for fitness. The TG5's worked fine for me, so I though I'd give these a try, I'm glad I did; they're working for me, and I like them better than the TG5.
Here's my take on how this shoe works for me:
I like the shoe as a comfortable and supportive runner that works well both on and off pavement. It feels stable and the sole thickness is sufficient that I'm not feeling every little pebble. The arch support isn't overbearing and the lacing pattern makes it feel snug without putting a ton of pressure on the top of my foot. The toe box isn't as loose as I'd like, but it isn't too tight. The cushion isn't squishy, but it's there enough to notice. The Toe box and the cushion are a place where I could agree with the critics- a bigger toe box and less cushion would've suited my foot/running style better, but it still fits better than any other shoe I've considered.
I ordered true to size, 11.5 TG5 to 11.5 TG6, good fit
For context, I've run in the TG2, TG4, TG5, TG6 and vapor glove over the years. After the TG2, this is my next favorite runner. I can't speak to durability yet, but hopefully it's better than the TG5's where the uppers are running out well before the soles.

First off, these aren't the same "true barefoot" shoes as earlier models - as many of the other reviews have stated - but I'm not convinced that's such a bad thing. There are a lot of positives to go along with the updated model.
The 6 offers much more support - especially through the arch - than previous models as well as a bit more cushion. As a higher mileage runner, I can appreciate these additions because it will allow me to put slightly longer runs in with these shoes. While the more minimal earlier versions were great for soft surfaces like grass or the beach, they didn't offer much protection against any sort of technical trail involving rocks or roots, whereas the 6 can handle a little more of that.
Another benefit to the beefier version that I've found is that they're great in the gym. This version of the Trail Glove has just enough arch support and are still flat enough to be great for HIIT workouts. I'm actually a bit surprised they haven't been marketed towards that use to be honest.
As with all the Trail Gloves I've ever owned, the water drainage is far superior to 99% of the other shoes out there. These are the ultimate beach running shoe and are great for mud or if you find yourself jumping into an occasional obstacle course/ mud run.
Overall, buy this shoe for what it is - a versatile, minimal shoe for low mileage trail running (or a great gym shoe).

As someone who has gone through about a dozen pairs of trail gloves since the first gen came out, I was a bit wary of the new version, especially with the negative reviews, but gen 6 is actually not bad. There is, thankfully, no rock plate that I can find despite what the website says; and the 'arch support' is fairly minor, though entirely counter to the concept of minimalist footwear, it doesn't interfere with ground feel. My only major qualm is that the toe box is narrower than I like. 150 miles in and there's almost no sign of wear on my first pair, so durability is solid.

Aside from the Arch Support complaint, the Shoe is not that bad. I made a full video under Merrell Trail Gove 6 review (2021) and shared details towards the shoe itself and what my thoughts were should you decide to see more visual content.
Pros:
+Shoe is really well put and the design/style is nice. its great for fitness or casual scenes.
+The shoe has amazing grip on the ground even on wet surfaces
+Lateral movements and plyometrics on these shoes work no problem
+The shoe offers a Rock Plate to protect your sole from sharp objects. That's rad man.
+Shoe is still flexible and light weight
+Arch Support initially is there but over time decreases slightly and your foot gets use to it.
Cons:
-Arch support and shoe break in period is long and rough. I was a little sore after wearing these daily but after a week, i was feeling more free to move around as I normally do.
-Glue used for this shoe is not that great. Bottom sole is coming off (toe area).
-Glue in heel ring-lock area is coming undone
-Wish they had black and dark grey (maybe) as the sole color vs. gum.
Overall, the shoe aint that bad. I had some issues with this brand before for similar problems in the past but i feel that Merrell is doing their best to rise back up to the top. Will review the Vapor Glove 5 on my channel soon but for now I hope this review was helpful.

First let me say I'm not a runner but I had a pair of what probably were the Trail Glove 1 and I loved it for a particular use. It was my back up travel & boating shoe and I was trying to replace them. They were nothing more than some nylon netting, a thin rubber sole and laces. They weighed about 5 oz, would pack flat in an inch and a half, and would shed water. They were the perfect back up shoe to put on when your main walking shoes were drying out due to rain. The Trail Glove 6 will work for me but a more substantial shoe (at 7oz) with a thicker sole than I needed.
