I loved the sizing and style of this shoe.
The comfort initially, in home, was amazing, but as I wore and walked in them they hurt spots(hot spots) of my foot. The pain was actually less rubbing as an achy feeling. Additionally there was a spot on the outside of the foot, where the shoe bends/creases that would poke down on my small toe. I changed socks and thicknesses, but all annoyances persisted. I returned these and ordered another style in hopes Hoka will be a brand I can support in the future.

This is my first time with Speedgoats, though not might first time with Hokas. I am disappointed with the tongue material and the mesh around the toe box. The tongue is very thin and actually cuts into my skin a bit. The toe box material is stiff enough that it creases on your toes.
The good, I love the 4mm differential between heel and toe. I love the Hoka cushioning. I love the tread. These are all of the good things. If they fixed my two issues, I'd give them five stars.

I just replaced an earlier version of the Speedgoat with the Speedgoat 4. Hoka has relegated a once great shoe to mediocrity by replacing the insole, that previously gave arch support, and fit, with little more than a thin layer of foam. Might as well be running in flip flops. Yes I can add an insole but why on an expensive shoe should I have to, especially when I never had to before. MBA cost control over road designer excellence.

These are not true to fit if you have EE width feet. The shoes look great but fall short in this area.

I got these for trail hikes and walks with my dog. I usually wear Clifton's bit thought I would try something different for a little more unpredictable terrain. These at first felt great on my feet, slightly more toe drop than other styles I have used. After some.use they were just too tight and didn't loosen up as I thought they would. I bought the same size I buy in all other hokas.

My first run in the Speedgoat 4 and they are super comfortable. I was a bit concerned going from Altra Timp (zero drop) to Speedgoat but was pleasantly surprised about the ride. I did have to purchase a wide fit and the upper comfort/toe box rivals the Timp. My biggest concern is after stepping through one creek, it sounded like the foam just absorbed all of the water and stayed there. I was sloshing for the remainder of the run and it was pretty annoying. It might lead to blistering in longer runs but time will tell.

I wanted to love the Speedgoat for its awesome tread, but even in the size 13 wide model, the width was just too cramped -- the 2E felt more like a narrow D -- I've got more room in my standard Nikes than I do in a wide Speedgoat. Had the same problem with the Rincons and Clifton wide. If you have Flintstone feet, you might need to look elsewhere.

I ordered these along with 2 other pair hoping to find a shoe with the right combination of cushion, support, width and durability. Even though I ordered these in men's size, they were too narrow for my arthritic feet.

I have a wide toe box and purchased wides, but had to return as they feel massive on my feet. Wish Hoka would have more sizing as opposed to narrow and wide. Otherwise, liked the look of the shoe, but wore once and felt like I was wearing clown shoes so I exchanged for the Challenger. Love the Challenger fit and feel, and hope this one holds up better than the last two pair which seem to delaminate at the lugs

I walk 5-10 miles a day, and usually do with at least one half of the route "in the dirt". Wish I could run but years ago I tore my posterior cruciate on my left side and have had my right knee scoped twice, so wanted to lessen the pounding. Anyway, I bought this shoe in a 13EE, and loved it around the house, but found in my walks that my left toe hit the front part of the shoe. So, I exchanged for a 14EE. The challenge is that I now feel the shoe is a bit wide.

I was convinced to give the Speedgoat 3 when I went to my local running shop. I was immediately on board after a handful of runs. I picked up several pair as they were on the way out and could be picked up at a decent price. I've burned through those and just picked up the 4s. They seem as well built as my previous 3s but the one thing that I'm not sure I can get behind is the move to a non-padded tongue. Wow, this is killing me. I'm 50 miles in and trying different lace patterns to take the edge off but I'm not sure I'm gonna find what I'm looking for. If you had asked me before my first run if the thin tongue on these would have been a problem I'd have said no, and I'd have been wrong. I'm hoping I get used to these otherwise I may have to bail on the Speedgoat line.

Good shoe just wish it came in an extra wide. Wide fit is not wide enough for me. Hoka selection is kind of limited in extra wide

The hard plastic top of the shoe "wrinkles" as you run and it impacts against the top of my foot and hurts.

I have extra wide feet and the only option for me is one style in 2 boring colors. They are very comfortable which is a plus, but the lack of options is very disappointing. I do recommend these shoes to many people though based on their comfort.

I tried the Speedgoat Evo's but they had a defect. They were also a bit tight in the toe box. I decided to try regular Speedgoats in a Wide. The Speedgoat feels very stiff compared to the Speedgoat Evo. When hiking, they also don't feel as stable as the Speedgoat Evo's. I have turned my ankle in the regular Speedgoats but never did with the Speedgoat Evo's. I wonder if this is because I went to a wide shoe so the base is somehow different? I wish they made the Speedgoat in a slightly wider toe box as I don't need a wide shoe, just a wide toe box. I know I can get that in an Altra but the structure of the Speedgoat is infinitelmore comfortable for me. I'm giving this 3 stars because of the stiffness and lack of stability. If it wasn't for the defect I would rate the Speedgoat Evo as a 5 star. Please make the Speedgoat Evo with a wider toe box.

These feel great walking but when I run trails, especially 10 or more miles, I get a pinch in the toebox (bloodblister) and will inevitably catch the heavy tread and take a digger. These shoes are very comfortable, propel me forward in a cushy sort of way but on the long ones they're a bit bulky.

Bought a pair of these and a pair of Bondi 7s in the same size and the same as several pair of Hokas i've had in the past. The speedgoats where far too tight in the forefoot and had to be returned. All the othe Hookas I have purchased fit great. I liked the features of the Speedgoat and was disappointed I didn't get to really try them on the trail.

When I was upgrading from the Speedgoat 3 I hesitated in getting the 4 because I thought the tongue looked like it would cut my ankle open and the new color ways are not great. While I think the thinner tongue makes for more room in the inside of the shoe which is nice, 2 runs in and my ankle was bleeding. I would say 99% of runners run in short or no show socks. To me this is a huge oversight and the only reason I'm not returning them is because I've already thrown away the box. Otherwise, running in this shoe feels like the Speedgoat 3 but with a bit more room fir your feet to move around.
