Comfy, for sure, but as someone who runs a lot, these fell apart in a month. I called and emailed for weeks, but have gotten no response, just the "delayed response times due to COVID."
The shoes completely shred apart, and the support breaks, blistering the back of your heel.

What changed between the Speed Goat 3 and version 4, the tongue was made super thin. The removal of padding between the top of your foot and the laces means you're going to feel the series 4 going downhill, it hurts. I'm a serious runner and hiker, and this shoe HURTS! First trail run and I seriously considered walking back to the car the last half mile barefoot because the pain was so intense on the top of my foot.. Went back to my series 3 for running (not ideal due to tread ware, but no pain), and decided to use these for a short backpack trip. BAD IDEA, same issue. So, into the trash these went and I bought another pair of the Series 3 Speed Goats while I could still find them!

Disappointing! The shoe developed a tear along the top of the toebox. I do not have a lot of miles on these shoes.
Hoka One One - any suggestions on how to repair this?

I have been buy three Hoka, challenge ATR, speedgoat 2, speedgoat 3, they all are great shoes. But the Speetgoat 4 are very disappointed. The "placard" extension from the tongue has come off after the second run. I need to use glue to fix it. also the left and right side of the shoes have the same problem after the third run. Total just run around 50k but it look like run more than 400k. In Hong Kong Quite a lot of speedgoat 4 user have the same problem. May be I will not buy speedgoat anymore.

After two months my Speedgoats are coming apart. We are talking less than 50 miles of light walking. The "placard" extension from the tongue, over the toe box, has come off and is flapping as I walk. I tried glue to no avail. The clear membrane that runs the length of the shoe is starting to separate. Really, really disappointed as these are by far the most comfortable shoes that have ever graced my feet.

One 7 mile run and these shoes are coming apart. The tabs on the front of these shoes are separating after one 7 mile trail run. When I contacted Hoka and included pictures of the obvious defect they claimed there's nothing they could do. This model has an design defect buyer beware! They are comfortable though, if they would hold up.

I had two pairs of Speedgoat 3s and loved them except for the occasional black toenail, so I was excited that the 4s have a larger toe box. However, after only four runs, I notice that the rand has began to delaminate. They are just too expensive to show this type of wear after four runs. Hopefully, my pair was just a fluke but I am disappointed with the quality of the new 4s.

I love Hoka as a company, but I do not love their Speedgoat line. I've tried versions 2, 3, and now 4. This is a shoe I just have to accept will never work for me. The new design has a very rigid upper material. It's so rigid that when the shoe flexes with every step it pokes you on the top of your toes. Imagine a how a piece of cloth bends and then imagine if that cloth was rigid. It doesn't bend, it folds. After 50 miles the shoe is starting to fall apart. They put an unnecessary piece of material on the top side of the shoe were the laces start. It isn't sown onto the shoe, rather it is glued. It has completely peeled away from the fabric. Somehow this shoe manages to feel sloppy, yet restrictive at the same time. There is no flex in the uppers which makes getting the laces correctly tightened a chore. I have to stop 3 -4 times during my run to re-adjust the laces. The lock down on the uppers is terrible as well. These shoes are designed for technical terrain, yet they can't keep your foot in place. My foot slides forward as soon as the trail turns down hill. This jams my toes to the front of the shoe instantly. There is also heel slip. If I tighten the laces more I can feel them digging into the top of my foot. This can be attributed to the thinner tongue on the shoe. Also the 4's weigh more than the 2's, and 3's. I don't know how this shoe got past quality control and the research team, but it shouldn't have. On the plus side it is slightly wider than previous versions, but still a narrow shoe. It still manages to feel a full 1/2 smaller than the other Hoka's I own.
