Not wide enough

The speedboats I purchased caused intense foot pain during the Tunnel Hill Ultra. My shoe was 1/2 size bigger than normal shoes and I puchased EE to ensure proper width. My feet were in such pain I was unable to finish the race. I do not think these shoes are good for any runs over 20 miles

Love the shoes very comfortable but seem to run a little small.

Square foot does not fit into round shoe.

Very uncomfortable,never again! Reebok is much better! For the cost they are horrible ! Im so disappointed

I up sized 1 full size, ordered a wide and this show is still too tight in the toe box. Otherwise a nice shoe. Sending it back..

Unfortunately, the size 9 (reg. wide) I ordered is way too tight for my feet. So I will have to return it.

The shoes look great but they have this rubber (or plastic?) band right above the sole that started coming iff almost immediately. Very disappointing

I was excited to switch from Brooks to these Speedgoats. Upon arrival, they fit great, and were a dream to hike in - so I did not see myself writing a bad review. But I purchased the shoes in May. It is not two months later - they are literally falling apart. Have I punished them? Hardly. Within weeks, one of the tongues of the sneakers was coming apart, a fault of construction not wear. There are broken threads all over the show and the beginning of a hole/break where the show flexes behind the toes. Both sneakers are ripped inside on the back of the heel - and the material is falling out there each time I take off the shoe. They will not be wearable for much longer. 2 months. I still have some of my Brooks worn on the trail, from 5 years ago or more.

The shoe opening is far too small if you have a high instep. It felt like my foot was in a vice the one time I actually got them on.

The laces on this pair of Speedgoat 4's failed. The outer sheathing separated from the inner and curled up like a slinky. So, called Hoka. Nope....can't send a pair of laces. They want the whole shoe returned, "it's the only option." You know a company by how they handle problems. In the dozens and dozens of Hoka's I've owned (just donated a used pile, or would have pulled from an old pair) I've never had a failure that I can recall. Been running on the brand since had to special order from France. So, their option: Be without a pair while the shoes are returned. MY OPTION: Start looking at other brands. Hoka is not the only company with the improved cushioning, but I still think the best. Often it's little red-flags like this one that tell you the direction a company is steering. I certainly think this is one, and for it, I may be done. Over a pair of shoe laces. Let that sink in Hoka. A pair of shoelaces. Good job.

Send it back it wasn't wide a crossed to small

Sizing is off on these. They just don't feel good to wear. I've owned a previous pair of these in a different interaction and I'd rather have those than these new ones. I've worn them once and won't wear them again.

The shoe was very tight even in the wide size. I tried hiking with them and it was not a pleasant feeling.

The fourth generation is vastly inferior to the 3rd and first. First, where as the stock insole offered fit and arch support, the current is just a flat piece of 1/8" foam. I never had to add an insole but now its a necessity. Factor that into you purchase price. Second, and I'll stop here, after less than 20 miles the tip of the sole is coming apart from the shoe. Hoka keeps asking me for recommendations and I keep giving these. Guess they don't really do customer service anymore either

I bought these shoes thinking they would help my feet not hurt. The first day they were ok but they were a little to narrow.

Had the Speedgoat 1,2,3 and now the 4. The Hoka MBA's got to the designers and resulted in an inferior and cheapened shoe. First, the insole is ridiculously flat, thin and no structure what so ever. Yes, I can put another insole in, but I never had to before and shouldn't have to with this priced shoe. Second, five runs on them and the sole at the tip is comming unglued. Can't trust them for a long mountain run now! Save your money

I ran a 50k, pretty uncomfortable make sure you wear thick socks.
