I am very happy with the shoes and plan to order more. Made my jog smoother and pain free. My only complaint was that I paid for 2 day shipping and received my order 7 business days later. I won't pay for express shipping again.

After reading the positive ratings, I ordered my usual 11 EEEE. Way bigger so I exchanged for a 10.5 EEEE. Still a generous fit. I found the sole a bit hard with my custom insole inserted and the shape just didn't fit my foot. The 840 is a well made shoe but I returned and went with my usual MT510. Great service by Zappos. NB sizing is all over the place so you never know if a new style in your usual size works. It seems Zappos stopped noting the shoe last used for shaping the shoe. Reinstating this would be helpful when trying a new style. I would gladly order any shoe with the same last used for the MT510. Wish the MT810 in EEEE was still available though....still have an old pair with a smooth sole for knocking around.

New Balance is great when you find a pair that fits.

Not as good as the originals which I now use for yard work. The old ones are much more stable and also have elastic at the bottom of the tongue that seemed to keep the tongue more stable and easier to put on. I am not a runner and walk 2 to 3 miles daily. Needed the extra room in the toe box. Very loyal to NB and look forward to the next version of 840's.

They are a little heavier than I like and the shoe laces are too long even with using all the eyelets and double knots.
I like the quality of the shoes.

these ran big on me and I'm a NB man. I'm fairly flat footed so these shoes did not give me arch support (even when I added an arch support insert) nor did they give me the support i was looking for. the Vongo v4 has fantastic arch support and lots of stability but with that comes a stiffer shoe. This 840v4 is a lovely shoe if u don't have my issues.

I use these sneakers for work and for running on a track and treadmill. The shoes were a little stiff when I first started tom use them for running which caused some discomfort, but loosened after about a week. I bought these to replace a pair of 880's which were lighter and gave more support. These seem to have a sturdier build but do not offer the comfort and support of the 880's. I'm not completely unhappy with these as they are good running shoes, but I am going to go back to the 880's on my next purchase.

The 840v4 fits me well, and I like the roominess in the toebox. I have high arches though, and I need shoes with a curved last, not semi-curved. As a result my knees tend to hurt. Also I think the drop is too high - 12mm. The cushioning and weight seem good to me. Thank you.

This is my second pair and they are very comfortable. I went from a 4E to a 2E because they have excellent width. The only thing I don't like is one of the tongues keep sliding down but I corrected it with a piece of athletic tape under it.

So good and such a revelation compared to my old "walking" shoes that I just ordered a back-up pair. I'm a 325 lb guy with plantar fasciitis on the tail-end of healing. My fat-guy feet are FAR less tired and sore at the end of the day compared to my previous shoes, despite the fact that they had physician-made custom orthotics. They are more squishy-oriented than any pair of previously-owned shoes so a fit person looking to move sprightly in them may not find them optimal - they impart a very subtle "walking in sand" feeling. I view them as "cushioning intervention" and so far they're paying off with less pain and fatigue.

Just about perfect. I'm a 325 lb male with plantar fasciitis. Coming from a very miserable pair of 928V3 shoes, these new shoes are a revelation. Light, nicely supportive but not too much so and welcomingly soft! I might actually buy a 2nd pair as backup in case they're discontinued.

12.5 4E foot apparel wearer here. Good shoe, not great because it is fairly pliable compared to other NB shoes which also means a slight foot shift within the shoe may be noticeable, of course it IS a running shoe. I find the cushioning comfortable and the shoe breathable. Pricey in my opinion but overall a good looking, comfortable, breathable shoe.
