Really not sure about this coat - on me it is a coat which is one of the reasons that I bought this particular coat. O haven't really tried it out yet in our Michigan winters as I just got it. However, it seems so thin and light that I wonder if it will really work! If it does, I will shout it from the roof tops! My last coat was wonderful however it was white and washed so very much that it just lost it feathers! I am hoping that this one will be just as warm.

Bought this coat to replace a North Face coat that was for years my go-to winter coat. Weather has not been cold enough to test this new purchase. Am happy with style, but this coat has lower down fill and I'm a bit worried about staying warm in the middle of a NYC winter. It's a bit slimmer in the chest than my old coat. The length is good----to my knees. I'm 5'4", 107#. I purchased a small to give me a bit of room for layering. Have my fingers crossed that I'm as happy with it as I was the one that gave me such good service.

Love the jacket, its very comfortable and the fit is great. The hood is a bit small but it doesn't bother me enough that I wouldn't recommend this jacket.

Opted for Gotham jacket over this one specifically because of the snap feature. While some people prefer a zipper with additional snaps at closure for extra security, I find it is more work than I want to expend to get in and out of a coat. I like the ease of zipping and going, without extra step of snaps.

Great for walking and just being out and about!

I almost never purchase coats before I need them. The coat arrived very quickly and the fit is perfect. I can't wait to try it this winter!

Great coat, looks good. Not true size though, I had to go one size up :(. Would love to have tight bands at wrist to keep cold out.

I've had this jacket for at least the past 4 years. I love it, but the hood is entirely too small. I want to make alterations to it, but I'm afraid of ruining the jacket...Otherwise, it fits perfectly. Its definitely not waterproof.

I really like this jacket but I'm not in love with the color. I thought it was a true navy color but it's more a light blue. I like the jacket and will exchange for another color.

I exchanged the medium parka for one that was similar in large. Otherwise it seems great. I will know more in January! Great service. Delivered on time. Website and store easy to deal with. The jacket just ran a bit snug.

I love the color and weight, but it feels about too snug. For wearing it in Europe in winter I would be wearing a sweater under it, and thei might feel like a sausage. The website recommended a S for me, and reading the comments I upped it to a M. Now I am waiting for the FedEx return slip. So once I wore it I will be able review it better.

It's been quite a few years since I purchased a new parka. I knew from experience that if I didn't get this now it would be sold out by the time I got it. I love the lining. It is an image of what look like birch trees. I ordered a medium at first because I tried on another style, once it came in I realized it was too big so I swapped for a small. The small fits much better but the sleeves are just a little short. I am excited to have a new parka for this winter can't wait to find matching gloves and hat.

Fit great and warm

The only thing that I would change in this coat is the color of logo & the color of the name of the company. The color is identical as the color of coat itself, which makes it really hard to see from the distance who made this coat. A couple of years ago every logo was white. It didn't matter what color of the material it was, ex.black coat with white logo, grey coat with white logo etc. That way the name North Face was visible from the distance. This would be my preffered choice if I had a choice.

Good purchase

Our daughter is heading of to college in New Hampshire this fall. She was born and raised in Hawaii, so we really have no idea what "below zero" feels like. We have been looking for a stylish, comfortable, WARM, and affordable knee-length down coat since December and were delighted to stumble upon this recently. Since we just purchased it (and we live in the tropics) we really can't yet comment on how warm this coat is, but our fingers are crossed that it will provide her with ample warmth while she treks between classes, practices, etc. We would give 5 stars, however the first coat delivered was snug and had to be exchanged for a large. The cut is very flattering and she says the large is comfortable and has ample room for a sweater underneath.

I bought this black coat for my daughter who will be attending U of Michigan this fall. She is not accustomed to seasonal cold weather coming from SoCal. The jacket is much cuter on & isn't too bulky. Since it hasn't been worn in cold weather yet to know if it does the job, I couldn't rate 5 stars not knowing the warmth factor.

I LOVE this coat. Really, if I could have a whole suit made out of this coat and it was socially acceptable for me to wear it all winter I would. It is like walking around in a warm cloud. The only thing is.... I wish it was made out of ripstop fabric. I know it is a "metro" coat for running around the city, but there are snags in this world, and I run into them. This coat would be 100% perfect if it was made out of ripstop fabric. I still love it, Wisconsin has been so cold this February that I would be crying everyday without it!

The coat is incredibly warm! It is extremely comfortable as well! At first I thought it was too long, but then realized it kept my legs warm, especially in the wind. The one downfall is the hood. It barely stays on my head and I wish it was a little longer.

I have to say I was really torn between this parka and the Miss Metro. I decided to go with the Miss Metro because it has less sheen to it and I absolutely love the Miss Metro!

I was surprised by how how thin this coat is, however it is warm. The only fault I find is that the hood could be more substantial.

I really like the coat, but I was dissapointed to find out (first hand) that it is not a coat that holds it own during my North American Eastern climat winters... It's not windproof or waterproof and I need to wear several layers under the coat so that I'm warm. Great for late fall, early winter or a trip to the mall during the mid-winter season... I wish the salesclerk would have given me the FYI.
