I really wish North Face would make their awesome coats to fit woman with an hour-glass shape. Too snug on my hips and across the chest. And if I go up a size too big everywhere :(

I purchased both the North Face Metropolis Parka II and the Miss Metro to see which would work better on my trip to China & Japan. It was a tough choice as I loved both but decided on the Metropolis because it wasn't quite as bulky (even though I prefer the material of the Miss Metro) and because my husband said it looked more flattering. I couldn't be happier with my purchase- I wore the jacket everyday for 2 weeks (even on a rigorous hike on the Great Wall) and it was the perfect choice. It kept me warm, wasn't too bulky/heavy and I could sort of dress it up in the evening since it was black. I normally wear a Small, and I feel it ran true to size in my opinion. I had room to wear layers underneath. Also- when I placed my order over the phone, the Zappos rep was SUPER helpful and even gave me great tips on China since he had spent time there. Thanks Zappos!

This coat is so warm in this freezing Ohio weather! It's so light weight and comfortable to wear! I'd recommend this coat to anyone.

This coat is very warm and gives a slight silhouette which is nice. It is longer than some which keeps my legs warm. I am 135lbs 5'7" and ordered the small. I can still wear a bulky sweater and a long sleeve under it. The hood fits very well and is a nice feature in the wind and yet it is detachable when you don't need it.

First the pros: looks good, especially the brit blue. Nice tailored waist. It's very warm, lightweight, and comfy. I like the soft lining in the collar and pockets. Cons: the stuffing is coming out - feathers poking out, getting stuck on my clothing - annoying. It's a bit puffier than I like, especially the arms, but not terrible - prob ok if you have the height to pull it off (I'm 5'5", so it's passable, but very close to overwhelming me with its size/puffiness). I wish the collar was a bit more snug - doesn't keep out the cold air. The hood is also not very generous - blows right off in windy conditions and barely reaches my hairline in front. Overall, this parka is worth trying and I understand the great reviews, but the cons outweighed the pros for me.

Since I live in an area that is naturally cold, this parka has been my go-to coat for the past winter! It keeps out the cold, and yet is so lightweight I almost forget I'm wearing it! It is great at keeping out wind and rain as well. This parka also zips up all the way to the neck, which helps with both the insulation and the overall warmness of the coat!

My MIL gifted this jacket to me for Christmas. I have a number of NF jackets but I wanted this one as well after reading the good reviews. I have worn it 3-4 times since receiving it for Christmas and now its shedding. it looks terrible and I see feathers flying everywhere. Do I have a lemon? This is the first time that I have been disappointed in a North face product.

I purchased this coat at end of season for a very reasonable price. I live in Iowa and the winters are very cold. I've had the opportunity to wear this in temps below 15 degrees F and have been comfortably warm. I love the fact that the coat is very lightweight and even stylish as far as winter down parkas go. I also love the color. It's a lovely blue with just a bit of shine. I'm hopeful the zipper will hold up for awhile as that's been my major issue with other brands of down parkas.

I ordered this coat and the Miss Metro to compare. They are very similar but this one ran larger, felt a bit more boxy, and was lighter weight. Decided to go with the Miss Metro because it was more flattering and warmer.

I love the coat - it is light weight, warm and very stylish - I do agree with the other review that it could be less "fitted" - you have to order up a size if you are not thin in the mid section.

I'm 5'7 130 lbs. Some reviews lead me to believe I'd need the medium. Not the case. The small fits me perfectly with just enough room for warmer layers. I like my coat to "fit". If I preferred a lot of extra room, then the medium could have worked for me fine. The coat is lightweight compared to some other parkas. I can see what people are saying about the feathers coming out. I have worn it once and had some feathers poke through. It's nothing excessive and seems to be pretty typical with all down coats. I hope it doesn't get worse. So far, it seems pretty warm.

I bought this jacket for a trip to Canada. The jacket itself is warm and light (what I wanted), but after just a few days of wear, the down feathers starts to come out of the seams. I don't know if this is normal or not.

The fit and size were perfect. The coat is warm and would be comfortable if it were not for the feathers poking out of it all over. I pulled a feather out because it was sharp and poking me in the back and it made a small hole with more feathers pouring out. This coat has feathers all over my car, home and office! The more I wear it the more the feathers pop out and I have only been wearing it about 3 weeks. I am very disappointed because the style, fit and color are perfect for me! I am surprised that a coat this expensive and from a good name like North Face would be of such poor quality! I am sending it back!

BEAUTIFUL WHITE JACKET. WILL BE VERM WARM. PLENTY OF ROOM THROUGH CHEST BUT PICTURE SHOWS THE JACKET ABOVE THE KNEES AND IT IS OVER AN INCH BELOW MY KNEE AND I AM 5 FEET 5 1/2 INCHES SO I AM RETURNING IT. THX ZAPPOS

I ordered a large and a medium in the same style. I am 5'7" but have broad shoulders and long arms. I typically have to buy a size up so that a coat is not tight through the back especially if I am wearing sweaters underneath. The medium fit best and arm length was good. This is a very nice quality winter coat and I would recommend.

I use this for everyday use in and out of my car all day long for work. it is lightweight, warm and love the hood I can pull up when needed. Friends and strangers love the color. If it is very cold and windy, I would switch to my other Northface heavier windproof down long jacket.

I absolutely love my new north face jacket. I've been wanting a long jacket for those cold 5 AM Minnesota mornings. This one does the trick! It is incredibly warm yet breathable and light weight. The length is perfect - hits just above my knees (I'm 5'8" and have a size small). We have STRONG winds and below zero weather and this jacket keeps me warm without an issue. In addition to the warmth it provides, it is also form fitting and stylish.

I am 6'0" tall and this jacket fits me so well! The length is perfect and I feel I can wear it for any occasion. I really like the fact that the North Face logo on the front and back is the same color as my coat. Great purchase.

I LOVE this coat! It is the perfect weight but nice and warm. I wore it in January in NYC and it kept me toasty! It has a high neck (the zipper goes all the way up to my chin!), so my neck stayed warm, the sleeves have elastic and I could tuck the top of my gloves in and it kept the wind out. Perfect purchase!

Color is spectacular! Matches my car! It's so lightweight and toasty even on the coldest days.

I am 5'4" and the jacket was too long for me.

I purchased this coat because i needed a longer warmer coat for the winter. It came in and size chart was spot on because it fit perfect. It is very warm and extremely comfortable to wear. It looks great with any outfit and I would highly recommend this coat to anyone!

Ive had this jacket stolen from me and I re-bought it just because of how much I love it. I've worn this jacket in the coldest of Chicago weathers and it keeps me warm! I'm usually a medium but the small fits. I would note that the armpit area feels a little constricted. Its also flattering around the waist!
