I received this jacket as a gift and was SO excited about it, but it sheds like crazy and I can not sit down anywhere without feathers being on the seat when I stand up. I have a size medium and it fits great. Also, there is a seam coming undone on the back of the jacket. I've only had it for a month and am very disappointed.

I received this coat as an early Christmas gift from my parents. I tried it on in store and fell in love , but as I began to wear it I noticed the constant shedding of feathers. I'm not talking a few here or there but constant shedding. The seat in my car is covered with feathers from this jacket . They let me exchange the jacket for a new one, but now the new one is doing the exact same thing! So frustrating- I've always been a fan and avid buyer of North Fave products but they really let me down . Now I have a feather shedding coat and they will not let me get the money back because I wore the jacket- ofcourse I wore it I loved it . I wasn't aware it was going to shed feathers like crazy . Very disappointed! Wish they would do something about this jacket model because many others must be having this same issue.

very disappointed. I have had my coat only a month and feathers are horribly shedding from the coat at all the seams and when I relieved mine it had a snag on the eft arm that I had to sew up. I wanted to ask for a warranty replace but I was told it would take 6 weeks which is absolutely ridiculous how am I going to be out of a winter coat for 6 weeks in the middle of winter because my coat is faulty.

This is a very stylish and warm coat. It fit perfectly and I loved it but I noticed it was losing feathers. I took it off and my black sweater was covered in feathers. Sadly, I will be returning it due to the feather loss.

I am not typically one to leave bad reviews, or reviews at all but I am very upset with the company as a whole. I received this coat as a gift and instantly had problems with zipper separating from the coat. I know many other people who have had the same problems as well. When I finally had a rip (that was unfortunately due to a dog jumping on me) I decided it was finally time to send in for warranty. I expected to pay something as the rip was my fault but was in shock when I received a $72 dollar bill in the mail, 25% of what the jacket costs to begin with. As it turns out the material to replace the rip was only 4 DOLLARS of the $72, the rest being "labor, cleaning, and shipping" charges. When I called to inquire and explain my reasoning for being up set I only got answers that were clearly being read off a script. I paid my bill to get my coat back but unfortunately, will not be purchasing from this company again. At least when LL Bean states "Lifetime Guarantee" on a product they really mean it...

Please North Face, find a better zipper supplier. Love your coats but that is a deal breaker.

The hood is ugly and the coat is not warm.

For winter warmth. Was not warm in 30 degree weather with a slight wind. Very disappointing, is being returned.

The material this jacket is made out of is very flammable and melts if you are near any heat source! For the price you pay for these jackets you certainly do not expect your jacket to melt! And as I state just NEAR!!!

What a disappointment!!! First jacket I got had a zipper malfunction at the bottom within 5 times of wearing.. it was impossible to get the two pieces to separate (the entire zipper is made of plastic, even the end pieces so if the plastic gets a nick or it comes slightly warped like mine did then your zipper will not work correctly. The second jacket I got as a replacement is shedding so bad it looks like its polka dotted!!! it looks cheap and awful! As a reference point I will say that I ordered a size up to account for underneath layering and there is still room so its not the the jacket is tight or any of the seams are strained. I contact North Face and they tell me to send the jacket in and that they will get back to me ..... IN 8 WEEKS!!! its the middle of winter and they want me to go without a jacket for 8 WEEKS because of their shoddy manufacturing?!?!?!? Unreal! I will never purchase North Face again, I should have listened to all the people that said their quality had gotten awful over the years! Big Mistake!! Stay away!

It just isn't the same - I had a long black North Face 600 that was soft and fit perfectly and I lost it so I quickly ordered this coat and it was not the same at all - it was hard and uncomfortable. I ordered a medium and the chest was too small and I couldn't move my arms well and then I exchanged it for a large and it was huge around the hips and butt area, so I ended up returning it - so sad because the other one (The 600) was my favorite coat ever!!

I have had the Metropolis Parka 600 fill for the last five years and I loved it, especially because of the fabulous arm/shoulder design. It is roomy yet not bulky, not restricting the arm movement. The new design as AWFUL! Just awful. The underarm cut is way too high, which makes the sleeves too narrow. And when I tried to lift my arm, the entire coat goes up! Yikes! Not to mention that the down fill went DOWN from 600 to 550. And the fabric looks and feels cheap. Everything about this coat is so wrong.... Please, bring back the old design and quality.

Poor fit. I'm 5'11" and wear a size 8 or medium in clothing. The large was too big in the body and too small in the shoulders and sleeves were too short. Very disappointed. Returned it. This is my third attempt at buying a NF to keep me warm at my three hockey players games. I give up!

This coat fits well, is stylish and warm -- just about everything you would want from a dressy downcoat. Unfortunately the fabric quality is so poor that feathers stick out all over the outside surface and at the same time leave a kind of dust in the seams. This makes the black coat look dirty and unkempt. I am extremely disappointd int this coat. All my previous North Face coats were great but this one is a dud. I will try tomreturn it to the retailer I bought it from.

I wish I could return it for a different style but it was a gift so no receipt.

its light, but not warm. i am looking for a warmer coat 4 CHICAGO!

I am so disappointed with a coat I was so excited to buy. I spot washed it with cool warm water and a soft soap onto to have a huge water mark left behind. The stain disappeared but the black feathers underneath are clumped and the fabric darkened. I thought this coat could withstand soap and water considering its high in price. It's so beautiful, I should have know it would be delicate.. I literally got one wear out of this coat.

I bought the older version of this coat a few years ago. I loved it so much I wanted to add a second coat to my wardrobe in another color besides black. The new one arrived and I liked the fit and the new grey color. The outside fabric was different. I wore this coat to two football games in Oct. and it did not keep me warm! It is not the same coat as the older version!! Very disappointed! If I was cold in that jacket in Oct. I can just imagine how cold I would be in Jan.! Returned this coat to the store and the sales rep confirmed that indeed this is not as warm as the prior version. Beware if you've owned this style in the past the new version is not the same! Please bring back the old coat!!

I was looking to buy 2 new parkas to replace the current ones that are worn out. Didn't know I was in for a disappointment until I saw that the new parka didn't look anything like the ones I have even though it was named the same :-( Instead of the nice relaxed fit and plenty of room for arms movement, the new parka model is a tight fit :-( You might as well given it a new name since it looks nothing like the 600 fill parka from the years past. Please bring back the 600 fill parka with the generous relaxed fit!

It looks nothing like they show online it's not warm and it looks like a garbage bag if you get the black one I love north face but this wasn't the best choice of coat so I returned it

Thinner than expected.. Not true to size. I returned it. I think it's ashame that Northface does not offer free returns, especially during the holiday season. Ths was a gift, and the recipient had to go through me to return it because it has to be done through the website. As much as these products cost, the returns shoud not be so complicated or cost the consumer any money. Will not go through the website again, will only buy Northface through a retail store.

Love the light weight, slim look coat. Just not warm enough in Ohio weather. My biggest complaint and the reason I'm planning to sell it is that the sleeves around my wrists are so tight that I'm unable to wear my gloves. Poor design.
