I was so excited to get a new winter coat this year. I did my research and I picked this one. I don't have a lot of money so if I am going to invest in a $300 coat, I want to be happy with my product. I've had the coat for over a month, and the feathers keep falling out. Additionally, the hood is not even big enough to cover my head, and I don't have an abnormally large head. It's almost useless.
It just doesn't feel like the quality of this coat is going to last as long as my old coat, which was half the price. Super bummed.

I am a big fan of northface and have owned their products for the last 15 years. I finally decided to purchase this jacket that I have been wanting for so long and I couldn't be more dissapointed! I have only owned it for a couple of months and white feathers all falling out of the seams all over the jacket. For the investment I expected a high quality product. When looking for a down jacket in the future I would not recommend this product!

I do not understand why TNF instead of create something new, redesign very good shape parka to terribly stupid "new old parka".The old parka has a good design it work for any woman's body shape.
If you have short back, long legs -old parka is good for you
If you have long back, you are not tall -old parka is good for you. It was great decision.
And what we have got now, -I wear old shape parka S size, but new shape parka does not work both sizes S & M.
for S size I can not fasten and M size has waistline on my hips! Also impossible to make steps - too narrow low hem!
look at please on the pictures, the blue parka is previous shape design, the white one terrific fashion design.
I am sorry if my English not so good, I was tried to explain my opinion for future best TNF design.
Dear TNF designers could you please create new good and comfortable parkas and add please more colors.

I was looking forward to finally purchasing this jacket but was disappointed to see that the down-fill had decreased from 600 to 550 for the same price as the higher fill, why would you do that? I really do not like the North Face logo being the same color as the jacket. It was nice to have it pop with white on black. Also, the feather were popping out all over this jacket after a week of wearing it. Unfortunately, I cannot return it now that I have worn it. I like the older model much better. For less money, LLBEAN offers a similar jacket with 800 down fill.

Bought this jacket back in 2006. Loved that it was roomy enough to layer sweaters. But the new fit doesn't give you enough room in the armpits or waist. It's fine with just a t-shirt but not much else. I'm 5'8" 125 lbs and the small was too tight in areas. Had to return the jacket. There's also not as much down fill (volume) in the new version. Total bummer.

Beware, this year's jacket has a lower quality down than last year! Last year's coat was 600 fill down and this year's has been "down"graded to 550. I wasn't sure it would make much of a difference, but oh, does it ever! I bought this jacket in Greystone Blue because I loved the lighter purple. I have the very plummy (not so yummy) baroque purple from last year. I agree that making the upper body more fitted is a good idea for look (although it's great to be able to fit a huge sweater under it...). Last year's is pretty boxy. But, last year's coat was perfect by itself with snow on the ground, and warm enough with a sweater underneath when it was windy and below 0. Just now I received the new one, with the lower quality down, and immediately noticed that it is not as fluffy as last year's coat. The shape is better yes, but it feels thin and I STILL FELT COLD even though it's 58 degrees outside and merely raining. Such a disappointment. Everything else improved but downgrading the down was a baaaaaad idea! It makes TNF look like they're losing their brand or pandering to city folk. Since the upper body is now slim, there's less of a chance of fitting a huge fisherman sweater under it. So all it's good for is the suburbs I guess...not a real outdoor company anymore? Fix it for next year! Upgrade it to 650 or 700. Then it may work on cold wind chill days without the sweater that no longer fits underneath. If you do you just might sell me a third coat!

Nice color. Nice style. Very, very little fill. Will NOT work in cold weather. NOT worth the $300.

I loved the color (green fig). I loved this jacket from previous years, not this model(2013) though. I felt that I was wrapped up with a quilt. The jacket is too long and the arms are too bulky. I got an XS, I'm 5.3 and 125 pounds and I felt that the jacket didn't have any shape. I will try get the transit one but also the 2011 version because the 2013 changed and the squares are gone. I would seriously recommend to make the metropolis jacket shorter and bring back the shiny squared patterned transit jacket.

For a coat that costs almost $300 and has a snap on hood that an easily be misplaced north face should be ashamed of themselves for not having a replacement that can be purchased. Ridiculous. WILL NOT BUY NF anymore. I was told to mail it into warranty department to see if by chance they might get a match from someone else returning one. Absurd! It's 10 degrees where my daughter lives so what is she supposed to wear in the meantime.

This was purchased as a gift and worn five times and then the zipper broke. Save your money. The warranty sounds great but Northface does not stand by it with integrity.

I am extremely disappointed with the purchase of this coat. I bought this for my daughter who had to visit NYC and when I asked her if it was warm she indicated it was not. After reading the reviews I thought this coat would be ideal for the winter weather conditions but it failed to meet all of my expectations.

I bought this jacket in November 2017. By January I was already having problems with the both the front zipper and also the pocket zippers getting stuck. Northface does have a lifetime guarantee so they said they would fix it, BUT I had to ship the jacket to them on my dime, which was around $25 to ship to them. I decided to wait till spring to send it back for them to fix the zipper because it was the only winter jacket I had. It took about three months to get the jacket back. I tried the zipper when I received it back and it seemed to work, but I wasn't wearing the jacket because it was the summer months. Fast forward to the now colder months and the front zipper still doesn't work!! I have to fuss with it every time, it's so frustrating! Never mind the fact that the hood isn't sized right to the jacket, it puckers in the front, looks terrible when on, and every time I try and put it on it unbottons and detaches from jacket.
I paid over $325 for this jacket including the shipping back to Northface to get the zipper issue "fixed" , so to have the zipper not work again is just not okay. I will never order Northface products again, way too much money for the quality not to be good.

Every day use. The down feathers are not encased to prevent them from poking through. They have to be pulled through or cut off or it looks like you have lint on the coat.

This jacket started shedding feathers from both the interior and exterior lining. Not just a few feathers, but many feathers, and the down made visible holes in the material. Cannot wear this jacket on my commute because I look very unprofessional covered in feathers. Incredibly disappointed in the quality of this product.

I bought this coat a couple months ago. It hasn't been cold enough to wear it. I put it on this weekend, finally. The zipper would not zip! The jacket is extremely light weight! It would never keep me warm. It is very disappointing. This isn't the first time Ive had an issue with a coat I ordered from North Face. Never again.

I got this to wear to my daughters sporting events Because I was always cold. I loved the way this jacket looked I just had higher expectations or how it would keep me warm. Bought it the end of last season and just wore it and I was still freezing. I probably would of returned it but it was over the days.
If you are looking for a stylish coat for winter but not sitting outside in the elements I think this would be great.Only gave it 1 star because I bought it for warmth.

I got this jacket shipped to me on Friday and wore it TWICE. There's feathers coming out of it left and right. I would think a coat that costs almost $300 would be better quality. I'm so disappointed and I expected better from The North Face. So if you are looking to purchase this coat, save money and your time. Not worth your money.

I was shocked that a coat priced near $300 was shipped to my house in a plastic bag, that I found ripped in several places and dumped on my porch. I could not even try on the coat because the zipper was broken. A down feather was coming out of the coat. When I pulled the feather out, it was followed by another feather, and another, and another, to no end. I so looked forward to receiving this coat and am totally turned off by the downturn in Northface quality.

Horrible! Feathers are poking out all over it, so it looks terrible. No shape. Was desperate for a trip and so I basically spent a fortune for a jacket I wore for six days.

Iv been purchasing North Face products for the past 25 years. I'm very upset with the quality of this jacket..it's completely different than the older styles. It feels cheap and not well made. Sadly if NorthFaces quality continues to decline I may no longer be their customer.

I’ve worn this jacket 4 times and it is falling apart. The seams are ripping. There are tiny holes all over where the down is coming out. I want my money back.
