I got this for my mom. She wasn't fond of it. Thought it fit funny. Narrow shoulders or something. She returned it but could only get a gift card because she didn't have a receipt. (The receipt was in the bag.) She gave me the gift card because she didn't want anything else in the store. So I thought I'd try some Flight Series Tights.

I love the parka. It is very warm and stylish. My only problem is the DOWN IS COMING OUT! Very disappointed! The only reason for the low score is the down. Will return.

Have had this less than a year/worn less than 10 times and zipper is defective. The only option Northface will give me is to ship it to them at my cost to be repaired. Really disappoointing. Will choose another brand for my next coat.

I was so excited to be gifted this coat as it was exactly what I needed for my job. I work in a state capital and walk up to three miles a day going between different office buildings for meetings and the parking garage. I also live in the Northeast (United States) and the winters get very cold, too cold just to wear a peacoat that is professional. The style of this jacket is great for a "suit and tie" job, but I am VERY disappointed with the warmth and how cheap this jacket feels. The seams have been pulling out since I got it and the zipper is always a fight. The wind goes right through it, and it's so inefficient that when I sit on my leather car seats I can feel the cold of the seat through my jacket. It has been under 20 degrees this week and even on days when it was not windy, this jacket did not suffice. I will be returning this jacket and getting one somewhere else. Also, the feathers shed constantly leaving my suit jacket looking like i just walked through a chicken coop when I take it off.

I sent the product back at a cost of $20.00 because the water resistance disappears and every time you wear it in wet weather like we have here in NE you get wetter and wetter; The feathers migrate out of it and it gets less warm every time you wear as there is no way to put them back in; Don't send it back because it doesn't keep you warm and dry as they will just send it back saying its not their issue

I have an issue with no covered zipper as with my old NF 600 fill coat I've had for over 6 years. This coat seems very cheaply made compared to my older one and not as warm. I was so used to snapping the coat and running out the door when it wasn't that cold. Now, I have no option in that so it may be a deal breaker for me. The poly material outside feels really thin, and I'm concerned the coat won't be warm when it gets much colder this winter. Not sure I'm going to keep it for the price. TNF company needs to improve the design of this coat and go back to the older quality of the past.

Part 2: I would like to add that other than the complete lack of water repellency - which is very important in Vancouver - it is definitely WARM and fits well. I get cold very easily but this keeps me warm with only a light fleece layer under it - even for cold mornings and evenings walking the dog. Length hits over the knee at 5'5" height and noticeably keeps upper legs warm. I have trouble with a lot of coats that are cut too slim/modern in the shoulders (and I don't have huge shoulders) and leave no room for any layers but this has just enough ease plus light weight enough that it doesn't feel restrictive. original comment: purchased jan2017 for vancouver cold snap- it really was warm and well proportioned even for short girls; a-line shape is flattering and makes it look a little more feminine BUT i wore it in LIGHT snow and it was soaked in minutes - sucks up water like a sponge and in the green colour it is also super blotchy when damp

I was looking for a knee-length down coat, and I loved the Quail Gray color as well as the fit of this coat. Unfortunately, it sheds a ton of feathers, which causes my boyfriend to joke that I killed a goose in his front seat, every time I ride in his car. However, I have to return the coat because as first the zipper was a bit difficult, but after only about 3 months, it gets stuck all the time. It seems very cheap and is very difficult to zip and unzip right at the bottom where the two sides come together. I'd seriously consider having a new zipper put in, but for the money I paid, and with the way this coat sheds feathers, I feel it's better to return it and just get a different coat.

I have had this jacket only one season and it is falling apart. The down falls out every where. And everything (lint, hair, etc) sticks to the center front making it look trashy. Also this is not warm!! I live in Colorado and have to wear another jacket under it frequently because it is not warm enough. I never leave reviews but I am extremely unsatisfied with this jacket.

I purchased this jacket thinking that it would be warm enough for a New York winter, but unfortunately it won't be. The fit is great and it looks great. However, it does feel a little cheap and the zippers feel flimsy. It is a 550 down filled coat, but it feels a lot less. I've had this jacket for less than a week and already it is shedding feathers. This jacket is more for a cold autumn day. It definitely won't keep me warm during the harsh winter. I'm very disappointed as the jacket fits well.

Well, I've had my NF Metropolis jacket for over 10 years and by far, my fave coat. And saw it on sale as mine is getting worn out. So I bought it, thinking it was the same jacket. Well it's not. It sucks. No fleece around collar, the hood on new jacket is so small , no head can fit under that, pockets are smaller, no fleece around the cuffs, arms are so short, Tight around chest. I'm 5'3, 135 lbs. Zipper and snaps are cheap and has absolutely no shape to it. Yuck. I'm thinking I'll wear my old faithful till it's falling apart cause it's a better quality than this $300+ version. I'm bringing it back. Total bummer.

I have a shiny Beige Metropolis parka purchased in 2007. I've always gotten so many compliments on the color & shiny finish. It's seen better days & I was looking to replace it with similar (or same in NF) & it's come obvious to me that this jacket is not the same in quality as my present parka. It went from 600 to 550 fill & looks noticeably less puffy. The quality of the media holder went down (mine has an interior zippered media pocket with a slit for ear bud wires) with just a loop now. Ive earl it's of comments about the loss of feathers. Even though I've seen great sale prices the past week, I'm very hesitant to buy this again.

I purchased this coat for my daughter and had it sent to her. She had selected it online. She was immediately disappointed in the fabric; the texture had appeared woven in the picture, but was actually printed. The real disappointment was one of the snaps was already pulling away from its position. In a store, my daughter exchanged the coat for a second exactly like it, and when she brought it to me to look at, we realized the replacement was doing the same thing. Simply not enough fabric allotted to secure the snap in place. This one will go back, too. Had understood North Face was kown for its quality, but with this coat, our first NF purchase, that was not the case.

This is a warm and stylish coat but it is not for petite women unless you are a size 2P or smaller -- then the XS will probably work for you. All of the other sizes will be too long in the sleeves and overall length. I am a size 4P and the XS looks good but I am worried about whether it will be too close fitting to wear over a heavy sweater or layers or to drive in, etc. Hey North Face, how about some petite sizes?

Our family has bought North Face jackets for years. So I was hugely surprised and disappointed when this jacket arrived. It's a gorgeous red color, but the outer nylon is so thin that the dark feathers show through, giving it a mottled appearance. Feathers were already spilling out of the stitching. The cut is very snug - I'm a size 4 and the Small didn't allow enough room for a light vest or medium sweater to be worn under the jacket.

I used the meter that is there in the website where you enter the height and weight and based on those measures, the site dishes out the right fit and this did not work very well for me. I purchased a coat to beat the cold harsh weather and was really desperate to receive since the weather was growing much worse each passing day. After a week of waiting, I received the coat only to be disappointed that it does not fit at all. Had to take it back to the store for return and had to just work thru the harsh weather thru a flimsy jacket. For all the acclaim that NF has over the winter warm clothing sector, they should also focus on plus size clothing for men and women alike - and make more options available for plus people.
