Great purchase. Size is perfect and they are very sturdy and comfortable. The soles are a lot beefier than my old boots and the quality of the boots looks like they will last several years. Wasn't sure I would like the high tops because I've always had the lower style, but after a nice long hike, I actually prefer these.

Bought these in a 10m wore several weight socks with these are made for medium - slightly heavier sock. You can not wear a snow sock with these but the shoe is warm. I am ordering a 10.5m to see if there is much of a difference. My feet tend to swell and I think the half size might work better for me. Overall I still have toe room and it offers great support. Would recommend, Finally found a great winter casual shoe!

I like the comfort and walk ability of these hiking boots

I wear the hiking boots because they are very very sturdy. Partnered with the NB insoles with arch support, they keep me walking. I would have a hard time if it were not for the structure of the shoe and the added support of the insoles.

I really love these shoes. They are extremely comfortable. The insulation keeps my feet warm, which is an added bonus. I haven't worn them in wet or slippery conditions so am not sure about traction. So far I love them and would highly recommend them.

These boots fit nicely, and I feel they offer the support I require. makes walking easier for me.

These are the most instantly-comfortable, driest, stylish, light, durable, flawless boots I've ever had the good fortune to wear. I can walk for miles in these boots (without suffering any blisters right out of the box, wearing thick AND thin socks!), and my feet are the warmest they've ever been in ANY winter! You MUST have your properly-fitted NB orthotic inserts as a companion (I use 1200, 10B) with these wonderful boots!

This is excellent- these boots provided sufficient support for my flat feet. It took around 3-4 occasions to break them in. After that, the shoes were comfortable. I ordered the Wide variant, and was pleased with the fit.

I've had a total of five pair of either the gray or the brown version of this walking boot, and have generally been very satisfied. It suits my 70-year-old feet that walk about five miles daily very well. Because I can get them in an extra-wide, they don't bother my hammer toes (and are kind to my feet that are pretty wide anyway) or cause bunions (as have other shoes that were plenty wide). I don't have any issues with my plantar fascitis (which is under control otherwise) with these boots. I like them so much that, while I bought them for walking dogs on dirt/gravel/rough roads and in fields, I find that they are my go-to footwear for errands in town and just about anything I can wear them for. My only issue has been with the two pair previous to this pair. In our very wet winter , spring, and summer, two previous pair cracked where the shoe breaks at the ball of the foot. One pair was fairly well-used by the time that happened, but the pair prior to this one had only been worn a few months, even though I tend to walk about 150 miles a month. New Balance customer service treated me very fairly when I called about that, giving me a full refund on that pair and I only had to pay shipping back (which I felt was reasonable as I had had three months' use out of them). I plan on buying another pair when these begin to show some wear. I usually buy them before I need them so that I'm ready with a new pair when an old pair gives out.

This is a motion control shoe. Perfect for hiking. It has great ankle support. However, the website did not stress how warm it was! This is a shoe for hiking in cold or snowy areas - think the Rockies, not Southern California! Overall a great shoe. I returned it since it is too warm but I wish NB would make hot weather hiking boots with motion control.

These shoes stabalize your ankles. This reduces leg pain. They are comfortable!
