My only complaint is....I ordered ankle boots. The shoelaces were too short. I had to go out and buy longer laces (72 inches). I believe the laces that came in the boots were 45 inches. Inspectors need to be more careful.

I have begun to try the shoes out they are light and comfortable. Not as warm as I expected.

Really like the look and feel of these. Stand up to the elements and don't weigh me down. I can get through about 2 winters of wearing these

I wear a 10 and run narrow. I got a 10.5 narrow and they fit great with my orthotics. The tread is not very aggressive or I would have given it five stars I have only had them a few days so I will see about wear but they are very comfortable

First of all thank you to New Balance for making narrow shoes. One of the few companies that do. Boot was fine, but I didn't feel that it was the sturdy hiking boot I needed for my trip to Glacier. I ended up returning and keeping Lowa boots I also ordered . This was comparing an apple with an orange and the price was substantially different. Anyway, I needed a great pair of hiking boots, not trail walking shoes, so returned these.

I'm a park ranger that has suffered many years of government-issued boots that pinched and crowded my feet. As an avid hiker, my feet have naturally splayed into a wide, if not close to, an extra wide size. Although other boot companies promised a wide fit, even when I would order at least a half size up just in case, I tossed out a number of boots after a month or two due to excruciating discomfort. I finally turned to New Balance for their wide selection, not realizing they had a high-top boot, and I'm glad I did! I ordered these boots in my true size in a wide, and so far, my feet no longer hurt after a 10-12 hour day of park ranger duties like guided hikes and such. There is more toe box room than I ever knew could exist in a hiking boot. The exterior is tough and matches well with my uniform. My only criticism: the tread isn't aggressive enough for any significant backcountry hiking. Sadly, I have had trail runners with more aggressive lugs than these boots. But perhaps my lack of foot fatigue is partly due to the lighter soles. All in all, this is a great light hiking boot and I will likely purchase these again.

I am s long 8.5 narrow size. I returned my usual dice and bought half size up 9N. I haven't joked in them but feels comfortable out of the box.

I has been thinking about these hiking boots for a while & then I saw someone wearing them so I asked how she liked them, she said they were comfortable & recommended them so I finally bought them, and I am glad I did! They are comfortable & supportive.

I typically get a 6.5 WW (2E) in NB and they are usually perfectly roomy. I had to send mine back and get a 7 WW. Even then they were a bit snug in the width. I did notice that while comfortable, i was pronating a little more than usual too with the included insole. (might just are my very big arches) Pulled them out and put my own orthotics in. I agree with what everyone else has said about the laces - they are a bit short and don't stay tired very well. I have just opted to knot them. That all said, i am quite comfortable wearing them now albeit with a thinner sock. Have been wearing them more and more. Really like the gray color. Additional: i have had many surgeries on my feet - bunions each side of each foot with one grown back, hammer toes, multiple neuromas removed, broken toes, et. you get the picture so comfortable shoes are very hard for me to find. Now i just need these to last.

I tried the gray and these are the cutest hiking/sneaker boots I've tried on. But ... as other reviewers have said, it runs narrow. Normally I take a B width. Never have problems with width. But in these I felt pressure around the foot. Seemed to fit lengthwise … but no extra room, that's for sure. I would have ordered the wide but they were out of stock.

I had ordered a 10m and wanted to see how the 101/2m would fit since this is a winter shoe. I had to return the 101/2 shoe it fit like an 11 and was too large overall. I had my thickest socks on and this did not help with fit. I kept the 10m. They do fit true to size but you can not wear thick socks which is ok since they are insulated. They give good support for walking. It is hard to really see how they will work outside since you can only test the shoe in the house. That is the why they get 4 stars. I have a shoe store that sells NB footwear but did not have these in stock they do allow wearing shoe outside to get a real feel for them and if they don't work they can be returned no problem! Wish they had this shoe in stock. PLEASE make laces longer for your winter shoes and boots the laces are too short and it is difficult to get them hooked to the top, when I tried I had very little lace to tie my shoe. Not good for a winter shoe/boot.

I ordered two different sizes and not sure which to keep yet. I think New Balance has been making shoes for years, but have not figured out yet how to do laces. They are a nice match but they do not stay tied. Even with an extra knot they come undone and pose a fall risk. What’s up with that nonsense?

These hiking boots are comfortable and stylish. The only concern is there's no insulation and difficult for me to keep the laces tied. I'm not sure why the laces keep coming undone.

I usually take a size 8 in New Balance. These felt much shorter and somewhat narrower. I ordered an 8.5 and they fit much better. The 8.5 is comfortable and very supportive. And there's plenty of room for my orthotics.

Shoe was comfortable, well balanced and warm. My reason for return was the thickness of the tongue due to insulation caused it to fold up and make pressure points on the top of my foot. I have nerve issues that make sensations in my feet off and limited so I felt the pressure points could be dangerous

I think these would have been great shoes except they were too narrow and about a half size too small. I wear an 11W and I ordered the 11WW because others had said they ran narrow. I may have been able to break them in but couldn't try because of bunions and my right toe touched the tip of the shoe. They were good looking, seemed a good quality shoe and more comfortable than the shoes I ended up with. I would recommend going up a half size and a whole width.

These boots are great. I owned an older version of these and these seem a little narrow in the toe bed compared to how my old ones fit. Great ankle support and fabulous waterproof material. These look way prettier than the old version. Love the color choices.

Bought minds last year and still holding, I have to say overall Quality great. However for the price I paid you think they will make a better grip of lace to hold tighter and not because loose. I always have that problem right in top. Even more when I'm walking 5 miles a day.

I wore these straight out of the box for about 100 miles of trekking and as approach shoes for mountain climbing in Nepal (switching to mountaineering boots only for the actual climbs). They needed no break in, fit my AA feet well, were surprisingly warm, handled water crossings with dry feet, and tolerated lots of abuse over some pretty rough and varied terrain. For such serious third-world back country use, a bit more aggressive sole pattern and/or stickier rubber sole would be nice, but they are more than enough for developed trails and most outdoor adventures that sane people will undertake.

These shoes are really cute for hiking boots! However, I am usually a 9.5 EE in new balance and these ran about a half size short. I ordered the 10s and they fit great now. The width is also a teeny bit narrower than other EE new balance that I have had in the past, but not enough to warrant a return. I think because they are so padded, that they feel a little tighter and that they will loosen a bit once they are broken in.

I usually wear an 8.5 W in most sneakers. In these I wear a 9 double wide. They accommodate my orthotics well and are very comfortable so far wearing them around the house. More comfy than my sneakers or my Merrell Moab Ventilators! I'll wear them inside a bit more to be sure, but I think they are keepers! Yay! My feet are very hard to please.

Since having severe back surgery it is extremely necessary to have excellent and comfortable foot and ankle support and having appropriate insoles is a requirement and I really can rely on NB to provide what I need.

Overall the product looks nice, but does not feel as durable as the previous ones. It actually rubbed my heel. Overall it sure looks pretty that still gives you that protection you need to walk.

I have had two pair, a brown pair with pink accents and a black pair with turquoise accents. Both fit my wide feet well and treated my hammer toes kindly. I don't like to walk the gravel roads and fields in anything else any more. But while the brown ones that I got in August 2016 and wore until May 2017 were waterproof almost all that time, the black ones I got just four months ago have not really been waterproof. I'd call them water-resistant and today, walking in grass with cold dew, my feet got quite damp and very cold. Part of the reason I ordered these (and reordered them) was for the waterproof aspect, so I could wear a pair of shoes that would be comfortable and usable in almost any conditions - summer heat, rain, light snow, etc. I need something relatively light but supportive like these but since I walk in all weathers, being waterproof is important to me especially in the colder months. I'm not at all happy with how this second, black pair is not performing well under wet conditions.
