I use this product for daily commutes to the various campuses on which I teach. I carry a 15MBP, various other music tech products (USB keyboard, external sound card, random controllers, etc) and all the requisite cables, and STILL have room for books, water bottles, offices supplies, etc. This bag is HUGE! It's the 2nd bag I've bought from this company and the first lasted more than 10 years, 2 college degrees, countless trips across country, and no small amount of abuse. The only reason I replaced the first bag was to get a bigger one...they're awesome bags!

I use this bag almost daily for everything. It is my go-bag when visiting clients. It is my travel bag when flying. It comes with my on vacation as my beach bag. I use it as a courier bag when out cycling. My bag is 15 years old and still looks like new even though it has flown tens of thousands of miles and been used and sometimes abused. I bought this bag 15 years ago on a trip to Boston from the UK and it rates as one of my best buys, ever.

Ditched my NorthFace backpack in favor of the Classic Messenger (Large) and am extremely pleased with my decision. I hated the lack of accessibility of the NF backpack. Compartments just too deep. Too difficult to access the stuff at the bottom. The top loading bucket design of the TimBuk2 allows easy access to everything. Plenty of pockets. I got the Custom Canvas. Love the uniqueness of my bags color combo; the waterproof liner; plenty of space and pockets. I can carry my DSLR plus two extra lenses, my laptop, my tablet, my phone external battery, extra keys, checkbook, pens and all the cords and chargers (pack those in packing cubes to reduce the clutter) - with space to spare. Highly recommend.

I use this product generally 5 days a week! It is fantastic. It holds everything I need for my classes and keeps those thing dry. I haven't found a better bag!

This is the third Timbuktu messenger bag I've used in 15 years, and possibly the best. I wasn't sure about customizing a new one because I didn't know if I'd love it as much as the last, but with the design improvements and newer fabrics, this is absolutely the go-to bag I was looking for. Well played Timbuktu, well played.

As a high school teacher, I haul a lot of papers and books around. I've had a Timbuk 2 bag for the past 12 years, yet decided to upgrade myself to a more modern version with built in laptop and tablet sleeve! I couldn't be happier! I LOVE my new bag! My coworker loved it so much, that she custom designed her own bag, so now we both have new bags!

The medium is good enough for to house everything i would need for an EDC, inclusive of my stationery, electronics, a first aid kit, rain shell, spare knife and flashlight. I commute by car, hence a messenger bag style is more pratical for me, and its faster in and out of the car, especially in a storm. Since im not walking long distances witht he bag, im not overly concerned with weight or comfort. But i must say, its pretty comfortable for a messenger bag with around 5kg of load. The ability to custom the bag is key to its success. I live in a rainy region, hence being able to choose TPU for the external panels is a big plus. I would recomend this bag to any urban commuter.

This is my 3rd bag from Timbuk2. I can't say enough good things about the company and their products. In short, you can expect the highest quality and workmanship as well as unsurpassed customer service when you need it. I stepped up to the Medium size, and still haven't filled it up for my daily commute. No complaints. Get one (or two), and love it.

I use this product every day because I'm a student who has a LOT of stuff to haul around and I can say this bag is roomy and stylish. I chose it because I was having a hard time finding a bag that would fit a 17" laptop. This bag fits my laptop and more easily. My only regret is that I didn't get a padded strap, because this bag really weighs my shoulders down (because it's so roomy). I'd recommend this bag to anyone who has a lot to carry around.

The velcro is wearing away the bucle straps and i wish the napolean pocket was left handed lile my strap.

I work from home but spend a good amount of time traveling every month and this bag is just perfect. I can put everything I am going to need to work on the go. I am buying one for my husband and son now! Perfect bag - no complaints.

The choice of materials is excellent, I really like the color choices in each material.

Top quality materials, workmanship and design; even better than I expected given Timbuk2's reputation. With the custom options I selected, the large number and variety of compartments make for a very versatile bag which serves well for commuting and various types of travel. THis bag is the largest size available, which even when fully packed, still meets even the most restrictive current carry on bag size limitations. One minor issue with the waxed canvas material (which I choose because it is heavy weight and maintains its shape even when empty) tends to attract lint/dust.

I had so much fun designing this bag and it turned out wonderfully! I love all the pockets and the inserts I added for my computer, iPad and water bottle. I also added the cushy shoulder strap and it's a must-have, making the bag very comfortable to carry. Love it!

i bought it for a present

I chose the custom fabrics and colors for my bag. I was so pleased when it arrived and was even better looking than it showed on my computer screen. I use this bag as my travel computer bag. It is very roomy with plenty of inside pockets for all my gadgets. With this bag, I don't need to carry an additional purse. The best way to wear this bag is cross body. This leaves my hands free for my phone, etc.

Used for school. I never found a bag that could hold my computer, books and everything else I need and be comfortable. Great quality! I will recommend to friends!

I let him customize it, which he loved. Purchased as a gift for iPad Air so I'll be buying the smaller size to hold that. The small is large enough for MacBook Air, accessories and then some. Love that it's so durable but light.

Perfect bag to carry at all times. Will last a life time

I purchased this bag before the holidays and have been extremely pleased with both the size and quality. I have a medium bag with the camera insert, and it holds everything I need with room to spare. I can fit a telephoto lens, regular lens, and camera body, with room left over for a water bottle and snacks. There are more than enough pockets to hold my pens and pencils, spare change, playing cards, charging cables, and anything else I might need while traveling. All in all, this bag was completely worth it.
