more compartments than expected, pleasant surprise. Zippers, pockets in ideal locations, still getting used to placement of pockets but love it!

I've been buying Timbuk2 bags for years - this purchase was my 5th (or 6th?). The best thing about them is the ability to go crazy picking custom colors. The next best thing is the quality - over the years, I've had absolutely no problems with any of my bags - you definitely get what you pay for! My only two (minor) complaints are that they're way more comfortable when you wear them across your chest (like a messenger) than when they hang down off of one shoulder (like I normally do, for airline travel) and that it's way too easy to go crazy with the options, creating too many pockets and dividers, that just add weight and, often, limit flexibility. Finally, while it's not surprising that Timbuk2's designs have evolved over the years, I was a bit disappointed that the basic proportions on the current Extra Small are different than the previous (Mexican "P" name) model that it apparently replaced. Instead of just showing pictures of bags on models (as done now), giving actual dimensions (as was done previously), would (seem to be?) more useful to most buyers (especially since custom bags can't be returned)! Bottom line - Timbuk2 makes a quality product, offers great customer service and keeps at least some of their production in the States - what's not to like?!

This purse is an upgrade from a Timbuk2 I bought over 10 years ago. The colors and style look exactly like the bag I made on the customization website. The workmanship is top knotch and I look forward to using the bay for many years to come.

I purchased the made in the USA model and hope more folks will do the same because it does matter. Quality and options are great. Wears like iron. Nice to have the ability to return to TIMBUK2 if it needs a tune-up down the road, not likely but good to know.

Teenage son still enjoys Pokemon but didn't want a little kids bag. Designed medium messenger bag in Pokemon theme. Came out great - and arrived the same week that PokemonGo was released. I seemed like a darn genius! Bag is perfect for his bike commuting to the gym and other activities.

I loved the bag I custom designed, it holds everything I need it to hold and it mostly is comfortable. Regretably I did not purchase the shoulder strap padding, so it can be a bit uncomfortable to have on during long uses, so I would suggest having one of those if you're going for this build.

I use my messenger bag on a daily basis. I work mainly on the road doing Code Enforcement and this bag provides storage for all the tools needed for my job. Great design and was made custom exactly to my standards. Thanks for a great bag and may God Bless you and your company!

I bought this bag for my husband. He's had his Timbuk2 for 10 plus years & it was time for an upgrade. He loves this one. The details, the colors I chose. Best bag ever!!!

I bought this bag to replace an XS bag I'd had for years, but recycled. I got a size bigger (SM), which works perfectly because now I can fit an extra pair of shoes or sweater/sweatshirt in addition to wallet, phone, water bottle, sunglasses, book. Also I love the colors. I took kind of a gamble on getting three bright colors that I don't usually get, but they turned out great.

Many compartments make these courier bags an all-in-one for meetings. Clients constantly ask me about where I got my bag and are always excited to learn that they are costomizable. These bags are a young, active persons answer to a briefcase. I can put my fins, booties and hoodie in it for surfing and the next day my pens, notes and folders/files for meetings. Love em'.

Great durable bag for corporate travel. I am a weekly traveler and have gone through several bags due to wear and tear. This is a light and durable bag. It just needs a strap to hook to my suitcase and it would be perfect.

Everything I need to work is in my bag- this way I don't need to think about it.

I have waited for years to invest in a good messenger bag and Timbuk2 has always been on the top of my list for consideration. I have used messenger bags for work, commuting with laptops and other technical gear, air travel, day trips and long weekends at busy conventions. I have carried anything and everything you can imagine (pardon my hyperbole) over the years in multiple messenger bags. I finally decided after yet the failure of another bag that I should treat myself and grab a large classic messenger bag from Timbuk2. I am very satisfied with the results. Fist of all their customization options are many and have selections for whatever your style preference is. The customization process was easy and the final product is better than expected. Customized bags have no return policy so be sure its what you want, but with the Timbuk2 lifetime care policies, I felt it was a worthwhile risk. So far I have been using my new bag for commuting to work and hauling my remote work laptop around the place. I ordered the Large bag with the sleeve compartment in the back and it easily hols even my 17" pro laptop. The straps on the bottom cinch up and give the bag a comfortable low profile when not hauling anything bulky. I have used this for local biking, running errands and hauling papers and light objects around and it performs as expected of a bag meant for bike couriers. the addition chest stabilization strap keeps the bag close and snug to your body and keeps it from shifting during travel or quick maneuvers. I have also used the bad to haul multiple large cases of X-Wing miniatures to my local game store for game days. The strap length is good, even for me. I stand at 6'8" and often have trouble finding bags that have the right length strap. I wear mine at full extension and it sits at a very comfortable position right around my lower lumbar portion of my back. It does not put undue stress on my shoulders or upper back due to its placement. One of my favorite feature so far is the excellent quick release mechanism for quickly adjusting the length and cinching the back up against the upper center of my back for better stability. this is extremely useful in commuting situations and when running for trains. I've now had my bag for not quite two month and all in all have not run into any negative issues. I feel secure knowing that I have the company's support in maintaining my bag and I truly believe that this may be the last messenger bag I ever purchase. It will certainly take a lot to convince me to go with different company in the future. Thanks for making such high quality bags Timbuk2!

I like to photograph on the fly so I need a sturdy bag that can hold everything I need, keep it safe, and still small enough that I can move around when I spend time dodging around inside sweaty concert-goers. Over the years I've honed the gear I need to a DSLR body and two-three lenses, so my required size is very specific. Research plus trial and error lead me to the Small Classic Messenger with the Extra Small Snoop Camera Insert. When I'm shooting at a concert or sporting event I'm in the crowd bouncing around and jostled every which-way, so swapping lenses is like juggling; being able to reach inside my bag, grab what I need immediately and go is CRITICAL or else I could lose my shot. The Snoop Insert inside the bag makes my job easy. I love the little pockets that use to store lens caps, wipes, etc.

This item was a Birthday Gift. The recipient LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! She loved the spacious room, the style and colors. I received a big hug and kiss. What more can I ask for?

Very fun to design and very much a "What you see is what you get" product; my bag was built exactly how I wanted it! I've used timbuk2 bags for several years now, with my favorite being a classic 2013 Classic Messenger so this one had a lot to live up (especially considering the recent redesigns timbuk2 has made to their messengers). Thankfully, they have actually improved on the old classic and made a pretty stellar bag. The strap buckle is a bit wonky to use at first, and I wish they would send a quick-start guide of some kind so that new users know how timbuk2 wants them to use it. (After looking at some pictures I got the idea) It has just as many pockets (if not the exact same amount) as my beloved 2013 CM, so there wasn't any awkward content reshuffling or what have you. It was just out of one bag and into the other. They did feel a little tighter than my old bag, but that could just be because I was excitedly cramming things. I got a large bag, and it sits comfortably on my shoulder, and the free cross strap helps me from having to try to salvage and finagle my 2013 cross-strap (since the anchoring rings for each bag are different, meaning the 2013 one wouldn't really fit). The base weight of the large-sized bag is a bit heavy, but even when it is heavy you don't really feel it for a while (unless you're smuggling bricks of dark matter or something). There are a bunch of small aesthetic differences between my 2013 and my new 2016 CMs, but they aren't enough to make me queasy or anything. It's a great bag, and if you want a great quality and comfortable messenger, or you want to update your own classic, this is the one to get.

I love this bag! I use it as an every day purse and it's big enough to use as a diaper bag when needed.

The number and type of compartments are super useful. It is easy to wipe down the inside and outside. I carry my lunch in it so that's important. It could be a little wider at the base and the top flap longer for times when I have more items, the top doesn't reach closed. Not keen on the velcro closure, seems like a duplication to the buckles and annoying to peel apart Glad it's made locally.

I have used this bag on my bike commute everyday for 10yrs. It has withstood the test of time -- waterproof, comfortable, and indestructible. The only sign of wear is the padded shoulder strap and some very minor fraying of the cordura strap. Great Bag!!

I wanted a new commuting bag and even though I don't live in a city any longer, I knew the extreme quality of Timbuk2 products and knew without a shadow of a doubt that this was the only way to go. I love, love, love, love this bag and am so happy every time I see it!
