I am a size 8 & I ordered a size 8 and although the boots were true to size, I felt the circumference of the calf were too wide for me. I bought these boots based off the reviews that they were great for smaller calves sizes, but it wasn’t true for me, so I gave it an overall 3 Stars. I am 5’9” , long legs so the shaft height was great for me, just not the circumference - It was too big. The boots were very comfortable, and stylish and the leather is soft but durable. I just wish they fit my calf properly. The price wasn’t bad either. Unfortunately I have to return these beauties and get back to finding boots that fit my 13-1/4 inch calves. I would still recommend these boots to others, just because it didn’t work for me doesn’t mean it wouldn’t for the next person. I’m sure there are women out there, my height, same shoe size as me with bigger calves. Lol.

These shoes are lovely - but as I was concerned about, from the other reviews, the boots didn't zip around my calves. I ended up doing an exchange for the wide calf version of these and I'm so happy I did.

I ordered these at the same time as a pair of Frye riding boots, and there really was no comparison. The style of these is cute enough, and the quality was probably okay, but next to the Frye's the leather looked cheap and plastic-y. The "whiskey" color is not as rich and dimensional as the photo suggests, and the details felt cheap. Comfort-wise, both pairs of boots were probably comparable, but these just didn't cut it when compared to a much more well-made (and much more expensive, to be fair) pair of boots, and I don't imagine they would last nearly as long. I did like the back zipper feature and minimal hardware, however. I tried the regular-width calf option and they fit nicely in that area.

I ordered a size 9M, which is my normal size. The style is cute and I love the zipper in the back. I would say my feet are average width, but perhaps slightly wider. Unfortunately the foot felt a little too narrow for me. It's possible a 9W would have fit better. But, they also had a bit of a slouchy look to them and I prefer a more sleek riding boot.

Pretty boot, but ran very narrow. I've never had a problem with shoes being too narrow, but this one was very uncomfortable, so I have to return.

I had to exchange for a half size bigger because the shoe would barely zip and I’ve been a size 10 forever! The half size up helped. But the actual sole is still extremely narrow. More than any other shoe I’ve owned before. Go up in size, runs very small!!!

These are a beautiful dark grey blue and blue riding boots are super hard to come by. The shoe part fits fine BUT, buyer beware on this style and brand that the calf size is very narrow and I do not have wide calves. I can zip them up but they are extremely tight. I am hoping so much they will stretch out over time so I will keep them but again, if you plan to wear them over leggings or jeans, just know that the calf size is very, very narrow. If I could exchange them for a wide calf in this color, I would in a heartbeat but they do not have a wide calf in this color ANYWHERE...believe me, I have searched the internet.

These were beautiful boots but they were too narrow and long for me. I have a wide size 9.5-10 foot.

If you have big calves, these boots may not fit you! I personally have wide calves and I could only zip up half my leg. The remaining top half was too tight to completely close the boot. Besides the leg fit, the actual foot part fit fine. It was really comfortable and the material is great quality. It's thick and sturdy. The style is really cute too and would make any outfit looks super classy and sophisticated. Also I have wide, flat feet so the wide size (6.5) fit me much better than the normal width. If you have normal sized calves, I'd highly recommend these boots as they're super cute, comfortable and really good quality.

Beautiful boots, but the shaft was just a bit too small.

I was hoping that the wider width foot would also translate to a wider calf, but that was not the case. Sadly, had to return -- couldn't get them zipped up.

This pair of boots definitely runs small. I usually wear 6.5 or 7 but 7 even feels smaller with socks. I admit that they stretch a bit after being worn for several times. The shoes are beautiful so I definitely recommend you to make a purchase, but go a full size up (maybe a half size would work if you have narrow fit or wear thin socks).

They seem like attractive boots to me, nice leather, cute snap details, but the top of the calf was so wide that it would only look acceptable with pants stuffed into it. The gap is even more problematic because the outer edge of the boot top is styled to be taller than the inner edge. I also found a tendency for bunching at the ankle; not comfortable. Don't want to look like a little kid in dress-up galoshes! I bought Size 7 W, but I am returning them.

Beautiful boot but I am having a hard time getting the shaft to fit properly. I am petit with thin legs, and yet I have to go to the wide calf boot, which then has a shaft that is too long and interferes with my knees while walking. Unfortunately I must return.

I loved the first pair of these boots, but when I tried them on the right zipper was broken, so I sent the boots back. Because I thought maybe it was a mistake I ordered the same boot again. The right boot was fine, the zipper worked well, however the left boot zipper would not work.I felt bad about the boots because they were comfortable and looked good when the zipper did work. Therefore, these also had to be returned. Maybe I was just unlucky, but feel I gave it a good try. I have many pairs of Sam Edelman sandals that I wear constantly in the summer months, so I have to assume this is just a problem with the manufacture of this particular boot. Zappos gave their usual excellent, prompt service and I thank you all.

The size was good, but issues with width. Ordered same size last year in M width, no problems....this was much narrower....love the boot!

Gorgeous boots, but they were really tight over the top of the foot. They would not have been comfortable for any length of time or walking. I didn't want to take a chance and hope they'd stretch so I returned them.

I so wanted these to fit but unfortunately have to send them back. Very cute, but the heel area was too loose and moved all around. This I could have lived with but even having ordered wides they were too narrow. So sad.

Although I loved these boots and the color, the length was too tall for my height. I am 5'1" and they hit me in the middle of my knee. Unfortunately, I had to return them. DS

Loved it but it was too big.

I ordered my usual size, but the foot part was a bit too small and pushing down on the top of my foot, which I thought could easily become painful with time. So I returned and ordered a half size up, but now the feet fit and the shaft was way too big, gapping out at the sides. I like the style, but unfortunately the fit just isn't for me.

These are beautiful boots. Very stylish. However, I ordered a 6W and could not even fit my foot in them. They run very narrow.
