Fantastic looking boot! However, could only get them zipped up to the bottom of my calf. Size 8 foot with a muscular calf at 16", sadly, it just didn't work.

I loved these boots so much in black that I ordered them in the whiskey as well. The whiskey color is beautiful but, like another reviewer noted, there's not-so-subtle shading at the toe and heel. To me, it made the boots look worn or dirty. I didn't care for that look but some people might. So back they go. But I'm thrilled with the black ones! True to size; pretty, soft leather; soft material on the inside, and they're tall enough for my 6' body -- they almost come to my knees. Ordered a size 12 which is what I normally wear and the fit is perfect. Thanks, Sam Edelman! I never heard of you before, but I'll start looking for your brand!

This boot is beautiful! I love the color and the subtly burnished toe. The leather smells wonderful, and it's buttery soft. The snap button detail is classy, too. However, the asymmetry at the top did not flatter my legs. I wanted to keep these, but I was just not happy with how I looked in them. Sadly, they're going back.

These boots are gorgeous and comfortable! The whiskey color with darker shading at the toe and heel is beautiful. The leather is super soft, and the lining is nice. These boots also have great tread on the bottom to give you traction. Love!

LOVE! I was trying to decide between these and the Melissa Button by Frye, and opted to try these first since they were significantly less money but equally rated. I was pleasantly surprised! The leather is very high quality and "buttery" soft. Perhaps the best surprise was how comfortable they were! The rubber sole allows me to wear them all day long with ease. Overall, I can't believe these boots were this price. My only qualm is that sometimes when I sit down, the pressure of my calve causes the little snap on the flap of leather covering the zipper to come un-done. It's no big deal to me as I can easily snap it back, and I would still buy these boots again. Highly recommend!

Loving these boots, the aging, the back zipper, and very comfortable. I had these boots stretched a bit at the top at a local shop (which I've had to do before, so I wouldn't say they're significantly narrow), and now they're perfect!

I was on the hunt for a simple, no frills boot that is classic! I love this boot. The leather is so soft and there was no break in period for them. It is my favorite boot ever.

Awesome job Zappos! I ordered these boots on a Thursday am and received them Friday afternoon! Love them! I'm 5'2" and the height was perfect! Ordered the size 6 (I'm usually a 6 or 6.5).

I am thrilled with this purchase! I normally wear a size 8 but I got an 8.5 so I could wear them with big wool socks and they fit perfectly. I wear them just about every day and they hold up wonderfully, I never even had to break them in.

I am absolutely in love with these boots. Zappos' filtering system is simply the best. Instead of just clicking all the things you want, you can also exclude things you do not want (such as certain embellishments!), which gives great narrow results without a mess of products that you would never buy. I was looking for nice black leather boots with a zipper, minimal hardware, and a low heel that I could wear on a daily basis. At first, I was a bit hesitant because of the asymmetrical shaft (I usually hate asymmetry!) But after reading through comments and watching the video, I decided to make my purchase since Zappos has an amazing return policy anyway! I was ecstatic when I tore open my box. These boots fit me so well, that it almost seems like I had them designed for me. I am 5'4" and my calves have a 13" circumference. These hit just below my knees and I have enough room to wear long socks and leggings. Even when I wear these with just tights, they do not slouch or look like I am swimming in them. I ordered my usual size 7. I have slightly wide feet, but I actually did not need to stretch these boots out. I have worn these walking around the city for hours and I have not gotten a single blister. The simplistic style is perfect and the asymmetry is actually a great distinct feature that I surprisingly really like! Comfortable and stylish is a win for me.

This is an extremely well made boot, and the leather is so soft. I hated to send this back but it is very tall (I'm 5'4") and it reached my knee and it pinched my toes (since the foot surgery I can't tolerate any shoe that pinches).

Amazing, gorgeous, so comfortable, look great with everything from jeans to leggings to dresses. I have been wearing them non-stop since I got them!

I am in love with these boots. I ordered 12 pairs from Zappos and this pair was the winner. I started looking for wide calf boots, but some were just too wide and yet the regular shaft were too tight. These boots were perfect for me. Just keep trying and you will find a pair. The caramel color is out of my comfort zone, but I am learning how to wear them. These are also pointier in the toe than I usually wear, but I think that gives them a little more of a cowboy boot look, but still stylish. I cannot say enough about Zappos and their customer service. I ordered 12 boots and returned 11, which was so easy and efficient. One pair was even misplaced in route, and they sent me another pair. Refunds came quickly and they always answered my questions when I called. I was nothing more than pleased. 5 stars for zappos.com.

I love these boots. I wear a size 7 and that is what I ordered and they fit perfect. I have large calves and this is the only pair I have ever bought that look and feel this good. The leather is very soft and I wore them for a long while on the first day and there were very comfortable right out of the box. I bought the black pair and I believe since I love them so much I am going to order the brown pair. I would highly recommend these boots if you have muscular calves.

Love this boot! Broken in feel right out of the box. Leather is soft - so soft. Dancers calves fit right in with no tugging, pulling, or grumbling!

I love boots! I'm 5'5.5" and wear a size 7. I consider my calves to be a bit o the muscular side also. I ordered the whiskey in a 7 and it fits nicely even in the calf. because I wanted to try the olive color too, I needed to order a 7.5 as the 7 was not available. Both boots look fine and are comfortable. The leather is lovely and there is not much breaking in needed. The back zipper is interesting but a bit difficult to manage if removing boots in a public area. Overall, I love these boots! I must have since I order two pairs of which one is a bit bigger than what I wear. :)

Love these boots. I bought them in the whiskey color last year and wore them a lot. They were instantly comfortable and still look great after pretty heavy use. I was glad to find them in the black color and ordered them last week. They are just as comfortable as my first pair and look very smart. I like that they're not "junked up" with buckles and straps everywhere. They are plain but still very stylish. The shading in the whiskey color is really on trend and looks great. I find the back zipper extremely clever and the little snap at the top of the zipper just the right touch.

These ran a full size big for me. They are super cute though. The leather is nice and soft and the little details (gold snaps and a cute zipper pull) add an extra touch. I'm pretty stoked that Zappos does free exchanges with 1 day shipping b/c I just need one size smaller.

These boots are awesome! They're so cute and the leather is very supple. I wasn't able to keep my pair because they were too tall on me (I'm 5'0), but I think they are the perfect fall boot for anyone of average height.

These are the most comfy boots I've ever owned. The leather is soft and supple. And the price is right. They will definitely be my go to boots this winter.

Pretty boot! The color is great. I am usually a size 8, and while it did fit, I felt that wearing any kind of sock would be extremely tight. This boot isn't great for anyone with a wide foot. I sized up to an 8.5, and that does leave me with room where my heel lifts slightly, but a thick sock will help that. The boot shaft is best for those with a slender to average size calf. I am on the slender side and have a little space there, even with a knee sock.

These are great if you're on the shorter side. I'm a little over 5'3" and find that most knee length boots hit me right in the middle of the knee & it's not so flattering. These are a bit shorter in the shaft and hit below the knee - more comfy, more flattering, makes your legs look longer if you're wearing with a skirt or dress. I also love these because they will go with jeans and a tee or tank, but they are also nice enough that they would look super cute with a dress or skirt. Oh yeah...they are comfortable too!

These boots are so great! They are the perfect height. Made from soft leather. They are trendy and beautiful with simple details. They look great with jeans, black pants or anything. And they are so comfortable. I walk all over the city and I could wear them all day and not be uncomfortable ever.

Love this boot and wish it was wider in the calf! The heel height is perfect and is sleek enough to wear to work. The leather is very good quality and I was upset that the calf wasn't wide enough.

These boots are exactly what I was looking for, plain with subtle style. I am 5' 2'' and the boots hit at the perfect place, about 1 1/2'' below the knee. I have gotten so many compliments so far. The were slightly tight in the beginning (width wise) but I have slightly wide feet. Perfect.
