These boots are wonderful! Beautiful color, beautiful fit! Love , love, love them! Leather is gorgeous! These are a must have!

It has taken me a couple of years to find the perfect riding boot, and I finally did. When looking for a riding boot, I wanted a pair with minimal hardware and a boot that was wide enough without having to go with something with an elastic panel (I have muscular calves, so this can be really hard!). These were perfect in both ways. I tried these on with leggings, and they fit perfectly. I was worried that I wouldn't love the color as I wanted more of a classic dark brown, and I thought these might be more of a rustic look, but I ended up loving the color as well. The leather is soft and great quality.

I've been looking for the perfect pair of brown leather boots and finally found these! They fit perfectly on the calf, not too big or small, and are a tiny bit snug on the foot (so if you're usually between sizes, order a half size or size up!). The color is beautiful, and these look just as nice as some other boots than will run you close to $400 or $500. They're not at all slouchy (even less so than the picture), which is exactly what I was looking for, but they do have a little give around the ankle. Overall, I'm super happy with them!

These boots are fantastic! They are super comfortable right out of the box. The leather is very soft and supple so it gives around your ankle and calf. I can't wear stiff boots because they are too restricting to leg movement and even make it difficult to drive in them. Not so with these! I am only 5' 4" but have muscular calves (14") and these fit perfectly. I can wear them with leggings and still zip up the back. I wore these for the first time with a dress and ankle socks, no tights, and they did not rub or anything. Nice simple design and I like the zipper in the back. I wear an 8.5 wide, but these 8.5 regular fit great. I also bought them in Whiskey from a local shoe store and then came to Zappos for the black. One comment is that my first pair of black boots was a shinier leather but had a defect in the zipper. I exchanged but the next pair was a more dull leather. I like the shiny better but did not want to exchange for a 3rd time. These are stylish, comfortable, very high quality, soft leather. I highly recommend!

These boots are great so far. The shipping time always amazes me. They are less shiny than in the picture. They are super cute and comfy. They are a little narrow but with thin socks they are perfect. I've been looking for the perfect riding boot for awhile and I'm happy I chose these with all the great reviews.

The Sam Edelman Penny boots are so versatile! The soft leather pairs well with skirts and dresses, but works with leggings and skinny jeans as well. My outfits always look polished in these boots. The fit and feel is relaxed and comfortable. I have small calves, so there's a lot of extra room but it doesn't look sloppy.

This is a lovely boot, good for people with thin calves. It is true to size and does not look "clunky." The leather is soft and the shaft crumples slightly, a nice look.

Love these boots! They are perfect! I love that I found a great looking boot without chains and buckles around the ankle!

Beautiful riding boots, soft leather and the shaft height is perfect...high but not above my knees. They do run narrow which is great for me as a size 5 rather narrow foot.

Love these boots, quality is great, leather is excellent, but the shaft is too narrow and they are a little tight in the back by the zipper. Hate it, but will have to return and try a wider shaft.

Love this boot! But I have athletic calves and just barely couldn't zip up the last couple inches over bare skin. Sent them back.

These are really nice boots. They are obviously well made and feature nice smooth substantial leather. The zipper goes all the way down for easy on/off. They were just a tiny bit narrow when worn with medium weight cotton socks. I would have kept these but they were just a bit too tall for my short legs.

I love these boots! Got them in black and brown. Dressy, yet great with leggings and perfectly plain.

Okay, so I bought these in lieu of the Frye Melissa Button mainly because of price & there were tons of good reviews. My best friend is a die hard Frye girl & I caved & ordered the Melissa. The Sam's are going back. I gave them 5 stars on everything because they are a nice boot but I am 5'2, 106lbs with small calves. When I received the Sam's, I was a little disappointed that the whiskey color wasn't a little more red. Secondly, I didn't think the Sam's were that big around my calves & I kind of liked the angled part at the top of the boot but after trying on the Frye's in cognac, I too believe I am on my way to becoming a die hard Frye girl. The cognac is the perfect shade of reddish brown, they fit my calves better, & I like the top of the boot being even all around. They are a class act.

Love these boots. The leather is so soft and they look super cute. I have really narrow calves and these boots fit perfectly, not too snug but not too big that they don't look right with skirts. Perfect boots and much cheaper than the Frye boots I wanted.

These are the best boots I have owned. They fit well, they are comfortable, styling and I get so many compliments on them. I have a high instep so certain designs don't work for me but these were perfect with the back zipper. They do not slouch and they fit well on the calf. Love them!

These are great boots. Very classy looking and comfortable. They are a little wide at the top for my calf but with socks they work great.

I loved these boots out of the box but had to return them because the shaft is so wide. I have normal/athletic calves and there was room for a second leg. Not the look I'm going for. Sad because they are gorgeous and comfortable.

Just got my Penny boots. Love them. I wear a 7.5 and these are a perfect fit. The shaft is a bit tight and probably not really 15" as stated in the description (my calves measure 14") but I think they will stretch a bit and work well with my leggings and a knit boot cuff. I needed a boot with a outsole that will grip in the ice and snow...these fit the bill perfectly yet are very stylish. I like the simple tabs over the zipper, love the higher rise on the outside of the boot...these boots will stay in style long after all the buckles, etc. have gone out of style. Very Classy. the leather is nice, and is a bit 'sturdy' so I won't hesitate to wear in the MN winters. Thanks Zappos for the best customer service too!

These boots are beautiful and so soft. I first wore them on a short vacation and they were comfortable from the beginning, even on the long day of flying and airports.

Love these boots! I ordered a half size smaller according to the other reviews and they fit perfectly! Also they came just in time for me to dress up at Amelia Earhart for halloween!

I bought these and the Frye Melissa boots. Those went back and these stayed. They fit so much better and looked better too. You would never know these were the cheaper pair! These boots are beautiful and so comfortable. The leather is super soft and they are definitely high quality and well made. Look great with jeans, leggings and skirts. The only thing good about winter is wearing these boots!

I love, love, love these S.E. Penny. I purchased the whiskey color and it is so soft and it is a better purchase than the Frye Melissa button which I couldn't even get my foot in.It is true to size and I ordered my normal 7.5.I recently saw another wearing her Penny and they were over a year old. They looked gorgeous and obviously hold up. The toebed where it is dark was rubbed off but that gave it the character of a great leather boot. Super comfy and I love these...love Zappos!

These are really classy boots. The cognac color is very rich and the gold snaps give the boots a high end look. I wear a 7 and ordered the 6½ - they fit perfectly. They have a little bit of a cowboy boot look to them as opposed to an equestrian boot style. They are beautiful with black skinny jeans or dark blue skinny jeans. They are nothing like real leather, either!

This is a wonderful pair of boots! Very soft leather, very cute style, and quite comfortable to wear for long periods of time. These look great with leggings or jeans! Sam Edelman shoes do tend to run a bit narrow so keep that in mind (these run a little narrow). Great boot, worth every penny!
