Bought these in the wide option. They are beautiful boots. Do not look bulky, even at a size 9. Very soft leather with beautiful styling. Definitely worth the price. Purchased for my 12 yo daughter that is 5'6. They hit just below the knee. She loves these boots!

I love these boots. They are the perfect go to for dressy or casual and look like Frye for a fraction of the price. Considering I wear a 10.5, the calf width isn't huge and looks good whether I'm stuffing jeans into them or wearing tights. I wish they had more arch support but my feet are narrow and I was able to fit my inserts in comfortably. I did have a weird problem with one boot- the lining was shedding. Contacted Zappos who handled the problem with their amazing efficiency. Love Zappos!

I was initially concerned about the ease of using the zipper up the back of the calf but my worries have been put to rest with wearing these great boots. I like the rounded roomy toe box, comfortable and cute. The shaft is a perfect height for my 5'5" frame. The width of the shaft is roomy enough to tuck my jeans into. And I'm glad Sam Edelman makes a size 10 1/2. Not all shoe companies do. Very pleased with purchase.

I'm on a mission to review shoes for narrow footers. Most shoes that actually come in narrow sizes are usually too wide for me. This medium width boot hugs my foot with a thin sock. I'm so excited! The leather is beautiful-- soft, not too shiny but not dull either. The taller side of the asymmetrical cut hits the back outside of my knee when sitting (I'm 5''4"), but since the leather is soft it's not uncomfortable. I was a little worried about the hardware looking a little too gold and shiny in the pictures, but it's really more of a burnished gold. Finally, I've found a black boot that is not embellished with fringes, laces, buckles, extra straps...just simple and classic. Thank you to Zappos for getting these to me in time to wear for Christmas!

these look great and super high quality for the price, i've only had them a week or two, a little uncomfortable on the top of one of my feet, but probably just due to breaking them in still or thick socks? true to size!

These boots are amazing!! I am very particular when it comes to boots. My calves are fairly big but I did not have to buy these in the wide calf version. I am a huge fan of Sam Edelman shoes and these boots did not disappoint. I bought them in gray and am seriously considering purchasing them in black and brown.

I own a pair of brown Frye button boots and wanted another pair in black. However, I was not wanting to spend the money but didn't want to sacrifice on quality. I tried these and they were perfect. Fit true to size and the calf width works well for me. I have large calves, but not large enough for wide calf boots. These are a great pair of boots for the money!

These are cute boots but they are too slouchy in the ankle area for me so, unfortunately, I have to return them. They do run narrow - I ordered the wide and it fit perfectly. The regular width would have been too tight. They are pretty and I like the lower heel - they would be comfy if they were a little more fitted.

I'm super happy with this purchase. The style, the color and the fit. I love the zipper which makes for easy on and off. The leather is soft and comfortable. I'm a teacher and have little feet always stepping on my shoes and they don't scuff easily. Very comfortable.

I love these boots. Just enough accent to be fashionable. The only thing I don't like is that the zipper starts at the back of my heel, and I can feel it.

Love these!! Not quite as wide as I expect a wide size to be (wide foot, not wide calf). But, they do fit nice, look really sharp and stylish!

The color is beautiful and the leather is really soft! Zippers work easily and I like the rubber sole on the very bottom.

The leather quality & color are great. Couldn't comfortably fit a thicker sock in these boots, which I tried because the back zipper is not comfortable on the heel. Going to return and try something else. Would also prefer a rounder toe for comfort.

Love this boots! I like that the leather is soft and requires no break in time. The shaft is a little tight, but I just had a baby and am sure that once I lose the weight they will felt perfect, but it's not too much of an issue since the boots can stretch some. They are so comfortable!

Been in search of new boots and finally found the perfect pair! The material is so soft and nice! Love the minimalist design. Usually wear 6.5-7 and went with the 6.5!

I love these boots! I had purchased a pair of Frye boots of similar color and style but the toe bed was so narrow. I ordered the Sam Edelman Penny in a wide and it fits great! The color was little lighter then I had expected (whiskey) but still beautiful. I have received many complements on these boots. I wear them several times a week. They do stretch a little.
