These boots are gorgeous! Soft leather, the color is so rich! The minute I opened the box, the smell of leather came out! These are so worth the money! I'm going to buy my 3rd pair! Frye rocks!

Just got my Cognac soft vintage boots and CANNOT take them off! They feel so great. I am 5'8" and 130 with 12.5" calves, and I am 7 1/2-8 and went with the 7 1/2. What a PERFECT fit!! I am so pleased with the purchase I want them in other colors! No other boots have ever felt this great. I have tried on countless and bought a few, but this investment is totally worth it. I have to agree with a previous post - I first ordered the Cognac stone antiqued, and there was a significant difference in fit - the 8 was snug on my foot and gaped at the calf. So, if you have small calves I do not recommend the distressed leather option. Otherwise, buy these and never look back....

These boots are beautiful, but sadly, the calf is too wide. I have big feet (11) but skinny ankles and legs. I have yet to find a leather boot that fits my calf. I typically order up in Frye boots. I am a 10-10.5 and the 11s are typically good. My search will continue! But these really are beautiful boots!!!

I bought these boots in the cognac soft vintage and couldn't be happier with the color. I've been looking for a pair of boots with a smaller than average calf circumference and jumped on these when I read they are 13" around. I usually need a 8 wide for feet but gave these a chance and I'm glad I did. They are only slightly snug but I think some breaking in will do the trick. The zippers are a little hard to move but I think they will get better with use as well. I'd love to get the black but will have to wait.

These boots are incredible! I love them and have gotten a ton of compliments. I purchased the Dark Brown Antiqued and they look so cool for everyday boots with skinny jeans. During winter in Phoenix I wore them every single day. As another reviewer suggested, I simply ran the zipper up and down several times before putting them on, and never had a zipper issue thereafter. I've noticed a few reviews mention the scuffing on the bottom like they've been worn - and they haven't - it's just the way they come. I usually wear a 9.5 - 10 and purchased these in a 10 and they are great no matter what socks I have on.

They are great! I love the classic styling. They are super comfortable. I can wear them all day with no problems. They are leather so expect some stiffness. This means they will conform to your feet and legs as you wear them. I read in some reviews that there were problems with the zippers, but I didn't really experience problems. I have rather slim legs so I have difficulty finding tall boots that don't swallow my calves. These have some extra space but with skinny jeans you don't notice so much. I think I got what I paid for with these. I love boots and enjoyed wearing these so much I hated to put them up for the season change.

I love them. They are very comfortable for a boot with a heel. I bought the cognac antique I like how worn they look but they still have a bit of a shine to them. Maybe with wear it will go away. You do have to point your foot forward to zip the back up but it's not a big deal. I wear a size 8 usually and these fit pretty true to size I do have a good amount of wiggle room in the toes which is great since I do not like my foot being cramped. Over all lovely boots!

I love these boots! When I opened the box I actually lost my breath! They are my fourth pair of Frye boots (I'm obsessed). I got the soft grey vintage in a 9, which is my usual size in Frye's. I love the color, I have all different shades of brown so I figured I'd try a shade of grey and they are so unique. I think these are my favorite of all my Frye boots so far. The grey color is perfectly distressed looking and is a lighter shade than all my others...so perfect for spring with dresses. I'm very happy with these boots.

I love these boots! I got them in black so they look a little less edgy than if I'd gotten them in one of the other colors or finishes. I did want an edgy boot, but I just know I will wear black shoes or boots more often than anything else. I've been looking for a knee high boot to love for a while. I have tried and returned other Frye boots but these Phillip Harness Talls feel good on, and like they have more support and cushioning in the foot than other styles. I got them in early spring, so I won't have too many more opportunities to wear them until the fall, but all days under 50 degrees will find me in these boots! I ordered the Frye Conditioning Cream too -- but the boots came first and I couldn't wait so I used my trusty Mink Oil and it didn't disappoint. Other reviewers comment on the zippers -- they are a little tricky, but let me tell you, I've tried other boots with the half zips and they are the devil to get on and off. These back zip boots are a cinch to get in and out of. I can tell these Fryes will be with me for a long time. They are a classic style and made to last.

QUALITY: When you open the box- you can almost smell and imagine that these were in a wild west gunfight. It's REAL leather and different from other boots. I agree the quality is different than 9 west or Merrell boots. SIZE: I wear 8.5 or 9 and bought a 9 and they are great. COMFORT: The footbed is comfortable and I am very picky about comfort- It is a MUST for me. I don't feel a need to put my orthotics in these but don't know if I could either. Not sure I could walk all day in them. TALL BOOT: I am 5' 4'' and these hit below my kneecap. Almost too tall but not quite. I can bend my knee and they are fine. The ankle is not too big or too small. I have small calves/legs and they are a bit big at the top of the boot but the ankle fits so it's not overall too big. The zipper is a bit funky but, yes, move your ankle around- not a big deal and not a deal breaker. COLOR: Antique Cognac- Love. Rustic and earthy. Just a little different. CONS- A little concerned that the sole is slippery and I don't want to fall on ice. May need to find a fix for that. My biggest concern about this boot.

I ordered the Phillip harness because I have very thin calves..12 inches. I read all the reviews of these running very narrow in the shaft and thought this might be my best bet. I wear an 8.5 and just have skinny legs in general. The boots were more narrow in the shaft than the Melissa style (15 inches) though still a bit roomy but I like that the zipper and design give it a more structured fit; I think these won't slouch terribly over time. The zipper seemed ok, I am able to slide these on with out undoing it, but will most likely utilize it as to not stretch the back of the shaft. I am 5'5 and around 130, but it doesn't seem terribly important as someone could be tall, thin and just happen to have bigger calves that these may not work for. If your foot is more narrow than wide and measure 14 inches or less in your calves these may work for you regardless of your height and weight! These felt more true to size than the Melissa as well.

I love these boots! They are so comfortable and the look is exactly what I was going for. They are all leather and I am very happy I broke down and bought them! I wear either a 6 or 6.5 and I got these in 6.5 and they fit perfectly.

I love these boots even more than I thought I would! They are beautiful and are very comfortable. I ordered a half size up so I could wear thick socks with them. They seem true to size.

I wanted some low heeled boots that were rugged so I could wear them anywhere. I love Birkenstocks and wear them almost exclusively because of the arch support. I don't get that kind of support in any other shoe and I am used to that. However for some reason even though these boots don't have a noticeable arch support in them, they feel supportive. The leather just gets better and molds to your legs and feet. I loved wearing them this winter as they were warm and soft. I have regular size legs and they fit me snugly. I couldn't tuck thick pants into them but I didn't want them for this so it didn't matter. They have stretched a little but not much. I wear them with skirts and dresses. I got the cognac brown that is antiqued and has some black in them hoping I could get by wearing them with black or brown and I did all winter but I really want some black ones because I don't always like wearing brown boots with black outfits but don't like all black either so just thinking about it. This is the most I have ever spent on a pair of shoes, boots or anything like it so I wanted them to be my boots I wear all the time and so far I have. I wear an 8 and the 8 fit me perfectly. I didn't have any problem with the zipper but was glad someone had shared the tip of flexing your leg to help zip them. I am glad the zipper is so heavy duty as it gets lots of wear. I love my Frye boots!

I love my boots! I purchased them in black soft vintage. I wear these to work with my trousers and worn them with skirts. I did struggle to zip them on at first but now they are easier to zip up. They are true to my size. I am a 7 with all Frye boots so far. When I tried these on at first, I lowered the shaft close to ankles so that I can zip, then pulled them up. I like my boots fitted to my legs. I guess I could go up in size but leather will stretch with time. I highly recommend these!

Got dark brown vintage in a size 7. Color has a beautiful reddish tint to it. Leather is soft. No problems with zipper. I am a little over 5'4" and the top part of the boots hit me just above the calves. My calves are 13.5 inches and these fit pretty well, no gaps like it was custom made for me. Usually riding boots fit me pretty big in the calf area, so it's hard for me to find a boot that fits well there. I have room for skinny jeans or knee high socks. Fit in the toe box is pretty narrow but it's leather so it will stretch. Been wearing them for 4 straight days now and they have broken in nicely, getting more comfortable each day. still feel like they will break in even better after another week of wear. First day wearing them, they were very tight but once again leather does stretch. Absolutely love these boots and are totally worth the investment!

Really beautiful boots. After trying on a pair in a store and balking at the price, I ordered 3 other pairs of less expensive boots, and they just didn't compare. They are well worth the price! I did find the zipper to be a little stiff/tough to zip up at first, but after wearing my boots 3 or 4 times, the zipper is working fine. Overall well-worth the investment!

I have been wanting to get a pair of frye boots for a long time, but I have very skinny legs (12 in cir), and I only wear a size 5, smallest size on this brand is 5 1/2, but I got it anyway with just a little insole and thick socks with leggings solved my problem. My only complain with Zappos is they started charging sales tax now. I could have got these from nm, but they don't have the color I want.

My daughter and I share these beautiful boots! They were very hard to find in December as everyone bought them for Christmas! The leather is incredible quality, very soft and seems much better made than my other leather boots. I didn't even have to break them in!! As soon as I put them on, they were comfortable!! VERY worth the money if you want a quality boot!

These are now tied with my brown Carson Lugs as my favorite bopping around boots. I have wide feet and thin calves. I read the reviews and ordered a half size bigger. Nice fit even over my thick leggings. Zipper took a couple tries to master, but not a problem. Even my husband likes them on me. These ain't going back!

The perfect boot! I had no problem, at all, with the zipper. (I was worried because I'd read many other reports of zippers getting stuck.) I'm 5'2" so many boots are too tall for me. These boots hit me just below the knee. I bought size 7, which is my normal shoe size. I probably could have gone with a 6 1/2 and been fine but the size 7's are not too big. I've worn these boots three times, so far, and have received compliments each time. Yes, these boots are quite expensive, but I believe they have a timeless look which means I will be able to happily wear them for years to come.

Frye really knows how to make a beautiful, functional boot. The Phillip harness is the 5th in my "collection" and I seriously cannot buy any other brand. They are exceptionally made, and wear like iron. This style did seem to run about half size small in my opinion. I ordered a 7, my usual, and I can only wear a very thin sock. Not a problem though, love them.

Beautiful boots! Casual but with the quality you would expect from Frye. Soft leather. I picked these because of other reviews commenting on how they were snug around the calf - I have thin calves and these are great! No big gap like some others, even other Frye styles I have tried. I see these quickly becoming a staple.
